    It makes it even more impressive that on top of his retardedly insane singing talent, he was also an insane dancer, one of the most prolific songwriters in history, a producer, a fashion icon and one of the richest people on the planet. Only thing he was missing was mastering some kind of instrument.
    But i'm guessing the reason why he didn't was because he was also an expert beatboxer which is how he created the beat for his songs, which funny enough created a unique sounding baseline and style on so many songs.
    He almost doesn't seem real.

    • @oemisc2880
      @oemisc2880 Před 2 lety +41

      Actually he did play instruments well, though he didn't showcase this much publicly. In his song Morphine, that's him on drums and he also played guitar in it with Slash. When he was living in Ireland, he had jam sessions w/ musician friends there who said MJ could play piano too. He literally could tell musicians exactly what to play, if he had to, which usually takes them by surprise. But he could imitate instruments vocally so he really didn't need to play, he could just sing. It's unreal what he could do, plus he had the looks to go with all that talent! It's not even fair lol

    I produced 2000 singers and worked for many labels. I never understood the obsession with singers wanting to get extremely high notes. This is rarely useful in a song. If you want to talk about MJ's incredible voice, you could listen to 'Looking through the windows' or many others and notice how effortlessly he moves away from the melody (adlibs) but never loses the tune. His ability to bring smooth and grit with his voice adds interest to a vocal part. His clarity while singing with grit etc. Above all, he added drama to his vocals, you believe his emotions and he can 'sell' a lyric like no other. Too many singers sing perfectly, but very predictably. Singing a high note (for me) is rather boring, like listening to a musician playing a solo on their instrument. I like songs, and I want musicians to bring the song to life. The song is king and the singers talent makes the song come alive. Just my two cents worth!

    people don't give him enough credit for the amazing vocalist he was.
    he worked his a$$ off to be this good, he worked none stop since he was a kid with vocal coaches, the most known one is Seth Riggs, in 2019 i went to a seminar called "In the studio with MJ", and in there you are spending an entire day with the very people that worked with him to create the magic we know today, and here is a fact they said: when Michael needed to record the lead vocal (there are a few level to record a song) which is when an artist gives his soul to the record, since this is the session that makes the track what it is: they said, every time he had this kind of recording session, he woud arrive 2 hours earlier to warm up his vocal cords and they said there isn't a single artist that has ever done that, no one - and i mean it, no one, we are talking about people who worked with all the greats in the industry and this is from them: No one was as dedicated as he was

    He has extraordinary vocal abilities. By the way, did you know that he has a very low voice by nature? I think this is also worth noting, because he could sing high and low completely changing his sound. It's unbelievable. If you listen to In the Closet live at a concert or 2000 Watts, it's fckg sexy. I also heard that his vocal coach said that Michael has a large range, about or more than three and a half octaves.

    The most underrated part of his vocals was the rhythm, then his tonal choices… the specific way he chose to pronounce each syllable. These things are what people struggle with when trying to imitate him, and the things that fall flat when people try to sing his songs.

    michael did have a lot of vocal damage though and that’s where his “raspiness” comes from, it’s still incredible obviously, but he was singing professionally ever since he was five years old, okay. most artists have 10-15 years max of full time singing before vocal damage starts to take place, and singers ideally want to start when their voices are developing, so around 14/15 or “puberty”. with that being said, michael started singing before puberty, (at age 5,) which means he essentially started damaging his voice at around 20 years old. you can hear it if you compare his voice from childhood to his later years, but nonetheless still an incredible vocal talent. one of, if not, THE best.

    • @LolliSweet82
      @LolliSweet82 Před 2 lety +3

      Michael did not damage his voice to that extent, if at all. He was perfectly healthy at least up until the Bad Tour, which he sang completely live, & then he got more careful with his voice (preserving it mostly for the studio), since his performances got more demanding as he got older (not to mention he got sick sometimes during his later tours, even got laryngitis at some point, & he often overworked himself). His technique allowed him to sing while DANCING, and to add distortion HEALTHILY to his voice (techniques for distortion are used by good rock & metal singers). Seth Riggs, Michael's vocal coach of many years, always praised Michael's voice & would've definitely told Michael to stop "hurting" his voice if he'd really been doing so. If Michael had gotten so "damaged", he would have never been able to achieve a nearly 4 octave vocal range, which he did in his later years, nor would he have been able to still hit high notes well. He still sounded great in 'This Is It', despite the fact Michael never went all out on rehearsals.

      14/15 are the same as a 16 year old= POST pubescent. A 16 year old or 15 year old(or 14 yo for that matter) is either finishing puberty,either finished it.
      Puberty is mostly between 10-14( 14 being a late age)
      And from 14 or 15 and on it's young adulthood/adolesence(that's why a 14 yo is barely,or isn't any different than a 16 yo. Unless the 14 yo has very bad hormonal issues.)
      It's true that you still develop during adolesence,but that's not puberty.
      An 11/12/13 yo is at puberty,not a 15 or 16 yo.
      Pick up a biology book please

    On the song Liberian Girl I always assumed at the very end when he’s singing “Girrrrrrrrrrl” it was done in a falsetto, but if you listen to the a cappella raw studio vocals you can hear that he was actually doing it in a FULL voice!!! Because it’s in the background though I mistook it for a falsetto. He’s singing SO HIGH on there and he was a full grown man. It’s insanely good. A true talent.

    I've had a theory for many years, that Joe actually had Michael castrated as a child.
    It would be much like him to do.
    I believe he was scared to lose his the most successful child to puberty.
    He'd been trying to promote his other children for years on end, and never really reaching the heights he wanted to, until Michael.
    Michaels vocal abilities and perfect pitch, took them to new heights.
    This also would explain, why Michael was asexual, and the fact he never lost the high notes, his very sparesome beard growth, and many other things.
