  • Pompey skipper Marlon Pack has signed a new two-year contract, extending his stay at the club after a highly successful season. Pack, a boyhood fan of Portsmouth, played a key role in the team's triumph in League One last season, making 39 appearances and scoring crucial goals against Leyton Orient, Shrewsbury, and Reading. His contributions earned him a spot in the League One Team of the Season at the EFL Awards, as well as the title of Pompey’s Player of the Season.
Portsmouth manager John Mousinho expressed his delight at securing Pack's future with the club, highlighting the midfielder's leadership and performance as crucial to the team's success and their ambitions in the Championship. Pack's new contract, which could see him finish his playing career at Fratton Park, underscores his importance to the team’s plans moving forward.
Pack, a graduate of the Pompey academy, returned to the club in the summer of 2022 after stints with Cheltenham, Bristol City, and Cardiff. He was named captain upon his return and has since made 78 appearances, scoring eight goals. His leadership will be vital as Portsmouth prepare for their first season back in the Championship after a 12-year absence.
