      Totaly right! but Manuela Gugliano is the only italian superstar and could play for almost any team in the world, so she can back it up a bit, but agree and she should stop with the Dybala-gesture, it's his. On the bright side I think Italy hasn't looked this good since 2019 and they are more talented now

    Bellissima partita: schemi tattici, intensità agonistica, tecnica, fuoriclasse come Laura Giuliani (sicura nelle uscite, forte tra i pali e nei rinvii, Donnarumma al confronto sembra un principiante) Dragoni (il pallone incollato ai piedi) Agnese Bonfantini (elegante nella corsa, valida in ogni parte del campo). Poi ho visto la nazionale maschile: un pietoso velo da stendere.

    Avrebbe dovuto richiamarla subito!!.. e dopo la seconda volta in cui avesse continuato a cercare di fare il fenomeno nonostante ci fossero compagne ben piazzate in area (si poteva stare sul 3 a 0 alla fine del primo tempo, dunque lei è respinsabile della mancata vittoria!!), avrebbe dovuto sostituirla e farle capire a brutto muso che il gioco del calcio è un gioco di squadra e non una passerella per presunti "fenomeni"!!!...

      But to be fair to her, norwegian youth doesnt look that promising atm :)

    • @beelzeduck
      @beelzeduck Před 27 dny

      The lack of team cohesiveness - particularly relating to pressure to win control of the ball - has been lacking since before the '22 European Championship.
      They did not look much like a team under Sjöberg nor Riise - and the interrim stint of Smerud did not see significant change.
      However, that _is_ the one area where there has been _some_ improvement with Grainger as a coach.
      Not nearly enough, but some. Composing a team of actually compatible players might take some time.
      Then again - defensive quality has been an issue for Norwegian football regardless of gender for quite a while.
      To which: the men's team have done even worse defensively.
      It is also visible in the national league.
      The strange thing about the women's national team is that pretty much all that have played these last 3 years consistently perform better in the respective clubs. Grainger has likely not been in position long enough to change that, and further challenges might reside with the support staff as well.
      Agree somewhat regarding youth players such as Gaupset. When Italy can play Dragoni for most of the match, Gaupset - at least if as fit as in the champion's league matches - should have gotten some time. Perhaps her form is not as it was then, though - given how her team has performed recently.

    • @Eddvard90
      @Eddvard90 Před 27 dny

      @@beelzeduck Just that it looks like most of Norways best players are around 30y old and I dont see that much coming from beneath. Looked a bit on the squad though and it looked better then I thought based on were they play, so maybe I was wrong. Problem for Norway is maybe they can't get that much better, but for example Portugal and Italy will..

    • @beelzeduck
      @beelzeduck Před 27 dny

      @@Eddvard90 the average age of the Norwegian squad is _lower_ than Italy's - 26,3 vs 26,6.
      Which makes one suspicious the knowledge of the squads might be.. lacking.
      There are quite a few Norwegian players in the Swedish, German, Spanish, English and Italian leagues not in the squad yet.
      And then there's talents like Justine Kielland and 18-years old Signe Gaupset that made impacts in champions league games against the likes of Olympique Lyonnaise and Barcelona.
      The latter also regarded as 5th greatest talent in the NXGN ranking of Goal magazine - notably above Dragoni at 17th.
      (Linda Caceido topping that list, quite obvioiusly).
      Not sure if the potential for improvement is _that_ much better for Italy, seeing as they're still quite home league centered, which likely will lead to fewer talents getting experience for matching on international levels.
      As a Norwegian the two main problems I see locally is lagging behind the bigger nations in growing attendance numbers and in developing defensive talent. In particular the first is importance, seeing as the low attendance seen in the Norwegian league leads to talent retiring very prematurely, since it is not possible to go professional for most.
      Of course, knowing a few Norwegian players have returned from "professional" contracts in italy due to wages not being paid out as agreed, seems like some stereotypes regarding Italy still get confirmed from time to time. Which _might_ not be optimal for Italy's development.

      Italy is one of the worst teams, they don't deserve to qualify for these Euro, there is no chance of winning a world cup with this horrible game

    • @beelzeduck
      @beelzeduck Před 27 dny +1

      With a Fifa ranking of 14 - and similarly Norway at 16 - none of the teams in this match are particularly likely contenders.
      Further substantiated by the results of last year's world cup, where Italy did not qualify beyond the group stage, while my native Norway were absolutely crushed in the first round of the knock out stage.
      Both teams simply need to improve - both in terms of consistency and level of performance - in order for that to change.
