*Consider this a teaser! Mark Levinson tracked my number down as soon as he learnt that I was at the show and we chatted for over an hour. I will be reviewing a system from him for sure and perhaps an interview/factory tour in the future with the Legend himself to give you guys more insight on this new piece of tech*

"Consider this a teaser!"
Alright Jay. You just redeemed yourself. 😅
There's a video of Mark explaining cwave. Honestly, he sounds nuts when describing it. It's upsampling with DSP correction, but the tests he ran about relaxing was only on 4 people. Trust your ears, not some marketing bs.
Nice seeing jay and Adrian in the same video again
Good post Jay. Looking forward to your further reports. Thx.
Looking forward to hearing how this programmable speaker sounds. I assume they have used an fpga-wonder if it comes with an app that permits the user to modify the output
Brilliant! That's what we need!!
What?
Thanks 👍.
Wow, that stuff must be amazing. Hey, did anyone see Vilip at the show?
Sad story....
No it mustn’t but it can be and lame question 🥳
I am really curious how the top TAD systems (reference line) compare ot the top Daniel Hertz systems (Maria 800 + M1 or M4 speaker). I hope to hear your opinion eventually, when you had a chance to listen to all of them.
Very interesting. A digital amp that make a digital filter and then send it equalized to the speaker. Very interested in hearing a review. Good job.
Interesting, this is how it's been done in high end car audio for a decade+ and it works extremely well. With crossover parts as expensive as they are, this makes sense.
Yup. Car audio is like the test bed for all this stuff.
I guess aesthetics never crossed ML’s mind.😂
Mám, I’m so pissed off. I missed Pure Audio Project, Daniel Hertz, and AGD demos in Montreal. I wasted way too much time in the big rooms, while the real magic was here. 😢 The only thing that impressed me in the big rooms was AudioNec and Borensen.
All sorts of digital processing taking place. I hope it sounds good with things other than well recorded than jazz/classical stuff.
With such a long/tall tweeter, they'll have a very narrow vertical dispersion. Did you experience that?
This is preferable when your ceiling and floor may be reflective. Many horns have very narrow vertical dispersion in exchange for wide horizontal dispersion for exactly this reason, to keep sound off the ceiling and floor. The ear doesn't do a great job of discriminating between direct and reflected sound from above and below you, so that tends to get mixed with the direct sound from the speaker and that causes frequency response ripple which is not desirable.
The amp reminds me of MBL Akustikgeräte.
So basically it’s an active 2way system with DSP. Finally!
It’s almost upsetting how many home audio enthusiasts look down at people who try to pursue perfection in caraudio by running fully active systems with DSPs.
Many of home audio fans will walk away from running passive speakers very very soon!
So basically it’s an active system? And their company can design custom crossovers for our existing speakers?
Did I get that right?
it's actually way more than that from what I understand so far. But yes that's what is partially does
The Maria 800 has 4 channels and fully programmable active crossovers. Maria 800 will drive any bi-amplified speaker. DH offers assistance to customers with non-DH speakers, who want to tune the crossovers to perfection.
So, Mark & Daniel Ultrumax with DSP amplifier and i bet it'll be cheaper than this Mark Levinson and Daniel Hertz thing.
Would be interesting to compare actually as it's a similar idea
Speaker gives DIY vibes 🤣🙃
C Wave technology sounds interesting though I already experience it @ home with Vinyl wave/V wave and MT wave/Master Tape Technology
I believe Technics amps have a similar technology if I am not mistaken.
Aww man you shoulda heckled Adrian just a little bit! 😅
idk man. Adrian's been working out. Didn't wanna get beat up haha
But how did they sound Jay? How did the speakers with the Maria amplifier sound to you?
it sounded really good. I have my coverage coming up soon but have a few short presentations that I thought was worth putting up first while I work on the longer videos
Thanks @@Jayiyagi
@@Jayiyagi is it "tha best"? ;-)

No one can claím to make the best Hifi! There are so many good amps and speakers on the market and many are far cheaper than Marks.
Those speakers look too quirky for my taste unfortunately.
A regular box with tweeter on top? I’ve seen much more quirky speakers than that ;)
Yes very ugly indeed. However I am sure they sound good.
"Homemade" might be a more apt term than "Quirky".
I've heard about mark Levinson about 25 years ago because they use their systems in Lexus
No thats a different company altogether.
This is DSP all the way. Every hint suggests that even the analog input is processed. Nobody is saying. Is anyone asking? |t seems everything is upsampled to DSD and then processed. I'm a little irked that after months and months nobody but them seems to have gotten their hands on one. Are they making only 10 a week? I'm talking the 350 Maria amp. These gentlemen said in essence that an approximate $14K unit is the equal of the very finest sounding amps combined with the finest DAC's, in one unit. No need to win the Powerball? Anyone can have world class?
Well beyond price. Back to pure signal processing, in a black box. It's going to upset the HiFi world up.
I thought it was just DSP too. When I was on the phone with Mark, asked and yes dsp is part of it but it isn’t what all of this tech does
Yes there's no way those bookshelves can play that low without dsp
Modern day DSP is likely the future, just need to convince the audiophiles of that. Many won’t want to accept it because it will devalue their $500,000 system they spent years putting together. Not to mention the effect on the new sales of that gear. Perfectly understandable but it’s nice to know high end audio can become available to those of us with normal incomes.
It could be analog signal processing. Active all pass and RC. TI has design notes for an active xover that has time alignment, baffle step, eq etc and it's analog so that's a good example.
they are pretty neat but the price... oh my...
How much was it?
@@donsimpsonshead8809 The integrated amp is 30,000 euros and the speakers are 53,000 euros. So about $90K total, converted to USD. As much as I like it, at that cost, I'd rather go McIntosh separates and KEF Blase 2 Meta for 60% that cost.
@@donsimpsonshead8809 pretty sure the amp is $25000
Killing us with the suspense for real.
;)
;(@@Jayiyagi
I listened to this setup. I was far more impressed by the Heaven11 amplifier at literally 10% of the retail price of this unit.
You are so lucky! I wish I could just stop at that quality and not have to crave for more
@@Danhifithe Daniel Hertz just wasn’t that good unfortunately.
@@tyroneedge8267😂😂😂😂 okay
@@DanhifiI don’t own a Heaven 11 amp. I just thought it sounded absolutely incredible for the money. The Daniel Hertz system was very underwhelming. For the record I have an all Audiomat system (so not cheap unfortunately).
@@Danhifi were you at the show? Did you get a chance to compare both rooms?
Interesting…it’s literally an all in one box audio solution……😳
Chiara is pronounced … KEY - ARE - AH
I guess test tones are copyrighted
😂
There’s video of ML introducing Daniel Hertz brand and Maria amp few yrs ago (aimed for Apple users). He showed internals of amp…and sorry - there is nothing revolutionary inside. In fact internal construction looked like teenage diy project (it wasn’t prototype).
do you have the link to the internal?
$53000 Euros LOL
@bilguana11
They used a very small sample size. Is it published and where, peer reviewed, confirmed by independent labs, etc,?
Audio junkie saw the amp was clipping or something
Beautiful equipment, pricing is pretty high.
Sorry the system just look cheap to me.
love your lips Jay
c'mon you can't even record 31hz? XD
31hz won’t even be recorded with the mic as its using low cut
@@Jayiyagi :|
You can record 35hz but few speakers can reproduce it. It’s a good demo in life, but hard to reproduce. Despite manufacturers’ claims, if you play a 35hz tone, you won’t hear anything on many speakers. Some speakers that cost over $100k roll off at 50hz, and have no audible bass below 45hz.
I mean, you can record 35hz if you have mics and a recorder that go that low.
And I still don't hear anything!
Please state wether or not u are getting paid for the review! Otherwise I’ll assume that it’s a paid review. Okay j and company…
Unless otherwise stated. All my videos are not paid content. Thanks!
Foolishness
they don't sound as good as a pair of 3 way active ATC SCM ASL dynamic monitors at less the price of Daniel hertz overpriced class D audio crap .
