- The Temptations have gone through a multitude of changes over the decades. Here they are as they were in 1983 consisting of Melvin Franklin, Dennis Edwards, Otis Williams, Richard Street and new member Ron Tyson.
They sing and perform their then current single "Love On My Mind Tonight" from the album "Surface Thrills" . It was a Top 20 hit! This is also just before Dennis' second exit from the group. - Hudba
Great underrated song should have been more recognized, Dennis at his vocal best
Those harmonizing Temptin Temptations "Sing Dennis." Thought I heard ALL of The Temptations songs. I never heard this one "love it" such beautiful melody. Dennis was an awesome Temptation. Melvin had one of the most daunting BASS voices ever. I've been a Temptations fan all my life. Rest in ❤❤❤ Melvin, Richard and Dennis!

I have watched it a gazillion times. And while Melvin's voice was superb, I like to listen real close to Richard Street's voice which was so profoun. He sang tenor and also baritone, plus he was so cute with those dimples.

Richard became a fav after watching this concert. Just had the memory from the movie of him being scared singing Paul's parts.
Richard and Dennis came to give the group more popularity, without a doubt Dennis much better than Ruffin, and Richard better than Paul, without disrespecting them, because they were good.
Believe it or not I had never heard this song before. This is Dennis Edwards at his very best. What an awesome song! The lead is magnificent and the background equally superb. Why Motown never pushed this one is beyond comprehension. This is a classic that was never promoted.

I played this song at an Urban Radios station when it was released in 1983. I liked it, it was the first Temptation song I had heard since the days of Papa was a rolling stone and that era. Loved this song! It's off the Surface Thrills LP!

I love the Temps. Dennis i a bad dude. He took David Ruffin's place in the group. My older siblings prefer David, but for me, Dennis is right up there. They have different styles, but Dennis does it for me. I love David too, now don't get me wrong.

Been a Temptation fan since I was a little girl. This is the ONLY group that I would buy the whole CD unheard.
@geliandlily I was blessed one night after the Tempts had performed at Student Union in 1975. After the show, I was in a local grocery store, and we heard this deep voice, and it was Melvin Franklin singing a christmas song, that was playing in the store.You know I talked to him, and he was one of the coolest people I have ever met. He was wearing a fur coat, and left in a taxie that was waiting outside He was in the medician isle.That was one high points in my life.

This was shot in Atlantic City, NJ at Harrah's I guess in the 1980's. I have this dvd and wish so much that the Tempts would put more of their concerts on dvd at least the older versions. I've been looking for this song and can't find it anywhere in their catalog.

Nobody can ever tell me that David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks or anybody else was the best singer of the Temptations other than Melvin Franklin. Even though Melvin didn't sing lead, you could clearly hear his voice in the harmony. That is real singing. Melvin Franklin doesn't get the credit that he really deserves. Clearly Melvin makes this song great. Mel is not singing lead, but you can hear his voice like he was singing lead. The real test of time and who was the best singer of the Temptations comes down to almost all the other Temptations were replaced but when MELVIN FRANKLIN died there was nobody out there to replace him. YOU have to be born a bass to sing bass. No music teacher or anybody else can get you to sing all those low notes. A music teacher can teach you to be on key, but can't give you a bass voice. YOU have to be born a bass. Therefore when Mel passed away, there was nobody to replace him. Melvin Franklin the best singer of the Temptations and the very best BASS singer ever in the history of music.

Your tripping lol. Melvins bass was essential but they didn't make it until they got David ruffin. They original tempts will el Bryant from 1960 to mid 1964 were hitless. David's voice was the one that broke through. He was only with the tempts for 4 years but people will forever associate David as the best an lead singer of the tempts

You can find this song on vinyl 45's, cheap -- the studio version I'm sure, not this one. I've never heard it, just ordered the record today, $5.00! Must be on a vinly album, but don't know which ones -- maybe "Love Songs?"
