In 1830, you could get killed for reading David Walker’s Appeal. This pamphlet was the most radical and controversial anti-slavery document and call to arms. Some historians consider Walker’s Appeal as the start of the Abolitionist Movement. In it, he exposes the hypocrisies of American Christianity and claims of freedom. He predicted the violence that was to come and described the savage brutality and cruelty Black people had to live with every single day. I wasn't taught this either in the white school system... I'm from the 80s... Crazy part about it they still do not teach this in school... However they teach things that are not important... Now they do teach us about slavery. I guess that's because they want us to always remember where we came from as if our civilization started here in America as being their slaves, and for us to remember that they are our masters to this day.

I'm confused as to why a picture of Frederick Douglass is used interchangeably with one of David Walker when speaking about Mr. Walker.
My thoughts exactly, Frederick Douglas and David Walker are separate persons. Using their pictures interchangeably is just wrong.
That's why they don't want these books in the schools.
My Father who raised me is a Hamite. My biological Father is an Israelite. My husband took me and my kids out of the Christian church and tonight made sure my Father (who raised me) understood why and didn’t fold. I respected my Lord and kept my mouth shut. someone should advise your people to stop seeing themselves through the false lenses of racial identity and hierarchies of oppression. it doesn't serve any righteous cause to raise ancestral grievances rather than cultivate virtues. anthropologists can tell you a lot more about what makes a noble life than a socially constructed identity can heal its own delusion. the whole voodoo of seeking to describe yourself in terms of what modes of oppression were practiced on a subset of everyone's ancestors is the most pessimistic life stance imaginable: "I exist to exalt the glory of a past golden age, wherein i was not the weak, coward of this day, but rather the noble warrior-king, who looked like me...and ultimately cut a deal with European sailors." no ambition for logic, nor any greater ambition than to live vicariously through an illustration of theoretical persons who were not white skinned, thus looked like you and stand in proof of your value? huh? yall wonder why you keep getting tricked and mistreated for 400 years. slaves weren't permitted to read but were still smart enough to realize that a person should have greater ambition in life than to seek after lost causes. what's your excuse for capitalizing kings and queens but not capitalizing from the opportunities you have presently?
Where in the bible did it say slavery was acceptable? I guess they conveniently forgot the story of Egyptians and Israelites and how God dealt with the Egyptians in the same Bible.
They not ready for that part, people take things in the Bible and twist it around.
It’s acceptable but slavery described in the Bible was supposed to be similar to servitude. It was never supposed to be harsh. Hence why the Egyptians were dealt with that way. I agree with you. People blame God and his Son instead of the ⚪️ people that removed books and verses out of the Bible.

The Bible talks about how the children of Father Abraham would work with their hands for the gentile for 400 years because of the denying of Jesus Christ and the rebellion of the Israelite men against the father therefore the will of God was for this new world to come about and for his people to work with their hands under the gentile (also called the caaninites) because we were really supposed to be kings and queens. After the four hundred years it would also show us the time that the 400 years would end the Lord would be returning back to the Earth so we know that time is here and we must be ready and get ready and do not be mad at the gentleman or the white men for the slavery but understand that it was the will of God because of our rebellion against him

Before Europeans had spread Christianity to Africa and other black majority countries or islands we had our own religions/beliefs. But many black have seem to eithier have forgotten that or do not know. Side note Christianity originated in the Middle East the Europeans were just influenced by it.

I am aware of David walker. He was a free man that loathe the injustice of slavery.He got murdered because one of our people revealed how he felt about slavery . What happened to him was they murdered him and said no one knew how he died. He had the same idea of revolting against slavery like Demark Vesey.. Demark was going to take over a ammunition plant in North Carolina, but how he got caught was three scared negroes went back and informed a couple of slave holders and they united and apprehended him. With David walker and Demark Vesey,s murder, the white slave holders also murdered one hundred slaves, Cutting off their head thinking what they did would keep other slaves in line. On David walker behalf, someone poisoned him and said he died from an internal Disease. It really gets me that every time a black man is about to start a inserrection either we murder them or the Europeans do it. But you know we would expect the Europeans, because they are afraid that we might be successful and do what they did to us, we might do the same thing to them.
