I've had a few lessons with some high level players. I am absolutely no virtuoso but Wes had me understanding things I've wondered about for years in an hour lesson putting him above all my other teachers. Cant wait to take more with him.
Dude same here. I had my first lesson with him last month and afterwards I just sat in my garage silent for a few minutes trying to comprehend how much I learned and how well he explained things in an hour that I couldn't fully understand in 5 years of guitar lessons and 10 years of me dicking around myself and googling. Absolutely unreal
Wes how can I contact you for lessons brother??? Fuck this is sick!!!
would you share something from what you've learned, pls?
Yeah his perspective and lessons on Riffhard have made my playing much more bulletproof.. the upstroke lesson was my favorite. All lessons on there are fantastic
Yep, took lessons with him for a while and he’s an incredibly good teacher. I’ve always felt overwhelmed and struggled with theory on my own, but he makes it basically idiot proof and then builds on what you previously learned. Same with techniques, really well explained and constantly pushing you to learn new things while revisiting the old.
Highly recommend lessons with him. Put in the work with him and I promise you’ll learn more in a few months than you thought possible. Guitar progress on fucking crack.
I feel I’m back here watching this like once or twice a week
The eerie dissonant bends are fantastic
Nice one Wes!
Skill recognized Skill❤❤
Wes’ style is really unique, he’s like Dime of our era and still in the league of his own.
As a player heavily influenced by dime, Wes has been a beacon of hope in that regard. He worships Dime in the way he should and it shows through in his playing!
Wes always kills it....such an amazing player!
This guy is the apex of tight playing
Wes has the best bends in the business. This is incredible! Great job Wes!
Sick af bends and brutally clean rhythms. Said alot by doing little. Love it.
Hands down my favorite guitar player, other than classical players he makes everyone seem boring.
Wes fretting hand is perfect, plays like nylon guitar just with tip of fingers and have incredible palm muting technicue, so frickin clean playing
I always dream of playing as clean as this man ❤️
Soooo clean, tight, sick, powerfull, dynamics, everthings....
The whole appearance of Wes is kinda of a wizard that, instead of holding his magic stick, he plays the guitar!
Wes is the man.
Wes is one of my major go to metal musicians today! His style, technique, and tone is so badass!!
Album of the year
Increíble, Wes es un genio. Sick player!
Wes is THE man
What a monster player!
I wish we had more of him on youtube

Who knew Geralt of Rivia was a sick bard?
Too good
And he's got a good taste in guitars
Do a 40 Stories play through!!🔥🤘🏼
I’m conflicted about my right hand technique. I’ve always had an angled pick and fanned fingered method. Loomis is one of my favorite players and he was talking about how he is transitioning to a curled finger approach. I’ve been listening to other good players who say flat picking is the way to go too.
Then I see Wes with his angle and fanned fingered hand and I think....which way is the most efficient way.
I may be overthinking it, because so many good guitar player approach picking somewhat differently from each other.
Both pros and cons. Closed can generate more force, open more endurance. You can switch between the two when necessary
Do them all, just be sure you know which whenever you track. I tend to lean towards the fanned out angle on faster alternate picking things, on super fast stuff I tend to leave my pinky under the bridge pickup to use for leverage to go faster and also not risk hitting my volume knob.
On a lot of the medium paced rhythms I tend to hit flat but in chords I rarely try to percussively hit all the strings of that chord at the same time, I follow the strings more naturally now and it creates massive dynamics.
For leads or more technical work like super aggressive down picking, my hand is closed.
Find out what works for you just make sure that you know how you are picking it was tracking to get the best stereo signal. I always like the approach of, whoever plays the part best in a song, gets to record both tracks. Which I'd always fun because you may record the verse and the 2nd guitarist may record the chorus, and you might record the leads and harmonies but they have a dope sweeping pattern to add because they've been working on it. Makes the finer details super consistent.
Keren bang

What cheat codes is he using?
Anyone know the tuning?
So brutal.
Only one Alluvial song?
A stop tail with Floyd Rose style fine tuning and locking nut? Wonder what the reasoning is there.
interesting. hadn't noticed that until I read this. first time I've seen such a set up.
Meshuggah and Mick Thomson from slipknot have similar setups as well. I had the m80m (Marten sig from meshuggah) and I love them for tuning stability and most of all their looks 🤷🏼♂️.
pls less camera changes and MUCH less zoomin in. THANX!
look at this grey fox about to pull everyones mums
I really don't like the video editing on this
I agree. Overboard, especially for those trying to watch and learn from his style
@@EviloveMetal Y’all can’t be serious. This is literally an ad for the course. Why would they show you something they want you to pay for
Lol it is a little distracting
Want some delay on that solo, Wes? ...... Nope.
