If there's a capture allowed, then it goes blk, wht, blk, etc... (alternating in other words) .
You would have to move the blk every other time,
Which is impossible.

Well, I guess the blk could capture each time on its turn .
The question would be though, can a wht piece fill the void on its turn.

I see it now , the wht rook can move back and forth two times.
But the blk knight will just be taken by a wht rook as it readies to go in next .
The blk would be taken after two of its moves.

Black Knight can't take the opponents figures. If he does it, he will capture by other figures. And he can't reach his goal

At 6:52, maybe you can instead move the horse beside the black square to the open square, then move the rook on the black square to the left, and then place the black knight on the black square. That will be less moves. But still a nice solve on a great puzzle!
It wasn't my first attempt to solve the puzzle. My first attempt was actually much more logical and quicker than the one I filmed 🤣
But that is the beauty of the Black Knight puzzle. You can solve it a different way each time you play

At 5:21 when you moved the knight you use a non square (there is no square on the label "Black Knight"), you made a wrong move except if it's allowed to use the non-squares. I presume the black night cannot capture a white piece. Great and fun puzzle.
It depends on how you look at the move. If you go 2 down and 1 to the right, yeah you kinda use the "Black Knight plaque". But you can also go one right and two down 😉
@@PuzzleguyI understand but the legal moves for a knight is 2 up, down, left or right then one .

@@PuzzleguyI always learned 2+1 even when I played against the computer, it plays always 2+1. Weird for me but OK I will research for more info on that move.
@@Puzzleguy The only legal move is 2 then 1. If you take a chess board and you move your knight 2 up x 1 right or 1 right x 2 up you are going to reach the same square even the second move is not the "legal" move. In your case your move (1 x 2) is not legal because you cannot make the 2 x 1 move to reach the same square.

WHEN you had the position where the BK was attacking the rook on the BK square the next move should be WK goes to the square the BK just left then move the rook on the BK square to the left and then the BK goes to the BK square.
SACRIFICE THE ROOK!!!!
Interesting, I found a completely different solution in 37 moves. Since you moved back and forth so many times I lost count how many steps you needed but you should be between 35-40
I have a solution guide from puzzle designer. The intended solution has 37 steps. So you probably found the solution.
But I like that the puzzle can be different every time you solve it.

I managed to solve this puzzle, but the final arrangement of pieces was different: BRNB1R/BNRNRB/----Nn
There are many different ways how to achieve the goal and the final arrangement will be different.
