    I bake my ginormous smile lines, like the parentheses around my mouth, and it makes my foundation stay all day and not settle into my lines!!!! It's a makeup life saver!!!! 😊

    I have extremely oily skin so I bake my whole face. I'll put my primer on, then I mix my foundation with my concealer (gives a nice balanced coverage and together they match my skin). Then I do my under eyes and nose and cupids bow again with just the concealer and blend it in. Then I literally put the ELF white loose HD powder all over my face and do my eyes and brows and mascara and eye liner.. Then I dust off the powder and do my bronze, contour and blush (whatever I have time for that day)... Funny because I never knew about this trick until about 1 week ago. It's perfect for oily skin and it gives such a flawless finish. If you have oily skin, bake your whole face. It keeps your make up from oxidizing also.

    To be honest the main reason why I don't watch any videos from beauty gurus anymore is because they all act like they created every single makeup tip and like they know what to do better than professionals (I will STILL never get over Michelle Phan putting out a book and then in her skincare/daily face routine section saying she puts sunscreen on FIRST, that is so moronic and turned me off entirely), so to hear you say in the first like minute about how this is something that's been done for ages in the theatrical/drag/professional community and to basically give credit where it's due - THANK YOU. Loved that.

  • @jazzygrl2003
    @jazzygrl2003 Před 6 lety

    My goodness, your videos are SO HELPFUL!!! After watching so many videos of women in their early twenties contouring, it is SO REFRESHING and USEFUL to see a more natural approach to contouring!
    I never felt the need to wear foundation in my twenties, as I had pretty nice skin. But, as I turn 33, my skin has gotten dark and blotchy in places (especially my forehead) so I've been trying to learn late. But, as signs of age (and sleep deprivation; I have 1yo twins) creep in, the last thing I want to do is draw attention to my face in ways like highlighting my cupids bow or hollowing my cheeks out in a shade 10xs too dark!
    You are a lifesaver! Thank you so much!!

    You should make an in depth video about how to create several eye-shadow looks with one palette (ex. too faced chocolate bar or naked 1, something a bit more basic). I find that whenever I want to buy a palette I get too intimidated by all of the colour choices and then I just go home an use the same champagne shadow all over the lid because it is easy and I can't screw it up lol, but your eye makeup always looks fantastic, so that would be really helpful! :)

    I love the idea behind this video, highlighting specific makeup trends/techniques. Maybe in the future you can show the technique on one side of your face and do the other half of your face how you'd normally do it. The reason I say this is because I don't see the hype around baking your makeup. At the end of the video, your undereye area looks how I imagine a normally set undereye would look. So for people like me who don't use this technique, its hard to see the appeal in using additional time/makeup if there is no visual comparison to show why this one technique is so beneficial

    addicted to your videos! I really wanted to leave a comment on your contouring video but it was disabled. You did such a beautiful job! I'm a drag queen who's been into makeup for 20 years, and I've been super impressed with your techniques. It probably helps that you resemble 2 of my favorite actresses, Charisma Carpenter and Fairuza Balk. But younger of course. You're a great artist and a beautiful person. Thanks for sharing your art!

    Baking is now my favorite technique on setting my concealer under the eye. I am using the Maybelline instant age rewind neutralizer as my concealer and NYX HD compact powder in banana and it has been my favorite duo for concealing and brightening my eyes. but then even I keep on blending it with brush nor beauty blender, it keeps on creasing and sits on the lines. and when I found out about this technique, I fell in love. no creasing, no chalky look, more brighter, and very flawless!!! :)

    I get WRINKLES from baking :((( I use the same products for baking as Tati in this video (Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer + Coty Airspun loose powder) and I do moisturize like crazy and the technique does work, however it makes my under-eye area look dry and accentuates my WRINKLES! :( And I'm the same age as Tati but apparently I have more wrinkles under my eyes and I can't bake for this reason:(

      do you have dry skin? or skin that isn't oily? it works only if you're oily and you have a good loose powder, never pressed. airspun is super cheap and it's worth it.

      Me as well ...no matter what powder I try it exaggerates my lines ....even with moisturizer , eye cream, primer concealer etc ....it's doesn't work for my skin so I have found less powder is better for under my eyes

    • @Breaknique
      @Breaknique Před 8 lety +13

      ammie raymer ahh, people with dry skin don't tend to tolerate the laura mercier loose powder very well. the RCMA no colour loose powder seems to work better for dry skin. it's quite inexpensive and nice quality. :) i would try that before giving up on baking all together because it works wonders when it actually works lol. also concealer is super important. i have combination skin but i'm fairly dry in the areas i use concealer and my favourites are maybelline age rewind and tarte shape tape. invest in a couple of genuine beauty blenders too, for me this combo works amazingly well. good luck! :D
