Robert Welsh has this line "makeup has no rules... but it does have a theory" and I feel like you and he are 100% on the same wavelength with videos like this!
After Tati (of course), Robert is my favorite! Between the two of them, I have learned soooooo much about makeup application (and I am in my 40’s! 😳). Like all the rest of her hard-core fans, I’m so so happy to have Tati back. It legit felt like something was missing from my life.
@@julesh116 6
Omg SO TRUE! I was literally JUST THINKING (While watching one of Roberts videos) ‘Robert and Tati would 100% get along and make wonderful friends.’ I hope they meet one day. I know she stays away from the CZcams sphere now after all she’s been through, but she still deserves to meet great people and make close friends, and I absolutely believe they would be if they ever met!
Love the Welsh brothers!!
Loveeee Robert. He's so kind and sweet
Treating bronzing and contouring as the same thing feels like a mistake on its own, most people are not aware of the differences in both application and undertone selection, it would be nice to see that explained so it’s another mistake to avoid.
Totally agree.
Me too
Me three!
Hi I am a slytherin
This was fun. I love your videos!
Youre so beautiful ^___^
I think “velvety” is a better finish for mature skin than “glowy”. It’s my experience that going to either Extreme-FLAT MATTE and DISCO BALL in terms of finish tends to emphasize things I don’t want. A SOFT radiance or a DEMI-MATTE would work better than the two I just mentioned.
Right there with you ))))
I'm in my 20´s but I find so much sense in your statement, you´re totally rioght, I've found that while doing my auntie or mom's makeup if I use a glowy primer it emphasizes pores and wrinkles much more
Do you have any velvety foundations that you like in particular?
@@sabrinajensen4250 I personally love shiseido foundation and ILMakiage, especially with their blurring primer. Hourglass stick foundation is another one of my favorites)
Absolutely! Natural Matte or satin is my go to for that very reason. I am still naturally oily and my natural oil still breakthrough. So if I try to use anything that's somewhat glowy, I look like a grease ball in about an hour. But I am also 50 and have wrinkles. So any extra glow just emphasizes that. And powders don't really help!
I believe knowing your undertones is key when looking for liquid/cream foundations as well! Thank you, Tati, for all of your insights on beauty!
Absolutely lol Or it won't match!
My problem is exactly this! I’m pale from my Irish side but still have a golden undertone from my Grandmere (Cherokee 🙂) so sometimes even if you know your undertone you still settle for “close enough” because you can’t afford the $65 foundation that’s a perfect match as an everyday foundation
@@r.carmichael4236 I know it is time consuming at first, but getting a couple of shades and mixing them is how I deal with that. Ulta and Sephora will give you samples so you don’t have to buy two until you find the right combo. I have had so many makeup consultants look at my pale skin and auburn hair and immediately think I have cooler undertones but I actually don’t and they make me look horrible. I didn’t learn about how to mix and match until I worked in a drag bar and those Queens KNEW their makeup! I mix foundation, blush and most bronzers to get my perfect shade.
@@r.carmichael4236 I have the same issue. I’m English and Armenian with light, golden undertones. The foundations that match me are drying, matte and not my fav. Most of the time I end up with foundation too dark or too light. I’ve mixed but sometimes it unflattering.
This bun DOES IT FOR ME❤️❤️❤️❤️
I said the same thing🥰
@@simonehernandez3783 mine never turn out that cute!
Yes, i love hair up / buns!! I think it really lifts the face and shows off bone structure!
@@KaraCorey lol meee either 😂
Me too 👍
I’m doing bridal makeup for the first time this weekend, and although I’m an avid makeup lover and player, I’m extremely nervous to help someone on such a special day.
This video helped remind of the basics and little tricks I don’t think about! Thank you queen! I’m glad you’re back and thriving. 💖
Anyone else shocked, SHOCKED, by the difference in eye size by the end? Like, Oh My Heck!
I also learned the hard way to pay attention to foundation finishes. Tati recommended the Catrice foundation. Best foundation ever, she said. I got it and wondered why I didn't look as awesome. "Megan, you ding dong! Your oily face could grease a car! You don't need dewy, illuminating foundation 😂". So I got the matte one that Tati recommended, I think the Wet and Wild something something Matte finish. It was beautiful!
precisely what I need to be watching while I'm trying to recover from a few too many glasses of prosecco at my work holiday party. better than a Tylenol 🤣 Thanks Tati
You’re a legend. Well done! 👏🏻👏🏻
i know you didnt ask but dont take tylenol after drinking alcohol! its extremely dangerous... it could cause severe liver damage 😭
Prosecco is the best!!!!
It’s only a holiday party if you made out with bob from accounting in the coat closet
Omg same!!!
Perfect vid to watch before my holiday party coming up this weekend. Always being the fairy godmother that we all need. Love you Tati!! ❤️
Thank you Ivy! Happy holidays!

Holy moly, this video finally made winged eyeliner “click” for me. Thought I had it down, but I’ve always looked slightly down when applying and thus placed the wing too far toward the outer corner of my (Asian, mono-lid) eye. At 45, I guess I can learn new tricks! Thanks for this video, it was super helpful!
As someone that doesn’t have enough “experience” doing my own make up, this was soooo helpful. Sometimes I get scared of doing more elaborated looks and this video somehow encouraged me♥️
Thank you sooo much Tati, I really really love and appreciate your tutorials and recommendations.
That was fantastic. I learned so much from your lesson today. Honest to God, everything I've learned about makeup, I've learned from you. I'm so incredibly grateful for you Tati. I'm 46 years old, and I just started getting back into makeup 3 years ago. It's never too late to learn. Thank you so much for everything you have taught me.❤❤
I second that except I’m 49 :-)
I’m always so happy when women near my age watch Tati too! For some reason I always feel like everyone else watching is 27 or under ie my Children’s ages!!
@@kekkelpenneypeckeltoot5700 actually, I'm 28 so ha
I’m 57 and just started wearing makeup again four years ago. I think there are more of us around than people think! 😉
I'm 69, I've always worn makeup and did a pretty good job with application. But I have learned so much from you and I get so many compliments. Thank you Tati!
11:15 Blending over the crease is what we with hooded eyes have to do. I'll go back through with a tiny blending brush and a skin-colored eyeshadow and make sure there is a little space between my blend and the brow.
Me too! That is how I learned to blend, before that I was struggling.
I have hooded eyes and still struggle. I have quite a bit of space between lashes and eyebrows
Exactly the same for me, Rita. 👍😊
And then when the genetic hooding meets the age sagging those windshield wiper and buffing motions are just right out the door. That just moves my skin from around.
I watched a Sephora video on YT about hooded eye application and he said the same thing about windshield wiper motion not working on hooded eyes. And also aging creased lids I appreciate Tati’s technique otherwise but my eye shape and structure is different.
Been an MUA almost 10 years, still enjoyed it cuz who doesn’t enjoy hanging out with Tati !!? :) love you xxx
I would love a get ready with me at the end of the year just of Tati telling us how her year was. I'm also so interested in Tati’s day-to-day life. Her home products have to be the best of the best.
I want to blend the bronzer on the “mistake side” soooo bad 😆 great tips as always!
Lol right its just smack in the middle clown like 🤣
So helpful!!!! I’m a cosmetologist and I learned some new tricks from you! Thanks a bunch Tati
Man, all these years watching Tati and I thought I was looking like the "Do" side.... then girlfriend called me out on all my mistakes! Hahaha 😂 cheers to looking like the "DON'T" side and trying better next time!
YES, TATI! We need more videos like this!
Same but mine is usually in a hurry so haphazardly done
100% truth!!
Tatie is smart to play into the recent requests for tutorials again. There’s a reason she’s one of the top creators
This was fun! Would love an eyebrow do’s and don’t’s!
Anyone who feels attacked should just watch and soak it all in. I mean look at Tati’s flawless makeup. No more black water line for this girl. Thanks Tati ❤️
Yes I do brown waterline but now I want to try the half waterline/Smoke effect. My eyes are big so I just liked that the liner toned them down a bit but I really do want to try to embrace my big eyes 🙂
@@vanessagonzalez2067 girl do it I would die for big eyes 😭💗
Idk why but I liked the black waterline. Lol
@@officialthehandsbigadventures Ugh! It just doesn't look right!!
I only do a black waterline if I'm doing a super smokey blown out look, otherwise, a nude liner in the waterline is my go to!
Love this! Sometimes you don't know you are doing something wrong until someone shows you the right way. Thank you!!
Thank you! These videos and OG real in depth makeup tutorials is what we need 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love this type of content! Also, the random chats and “Tati revelations” you have. Sometimes we all need a little Tati life wisdom!
This was honestly so helpful, even for those of us who tend to do very minimal makeup. Small, easy tricks that make a huge difference.
I actually always blend my eyeshadow all the way up to my brows, I love that look, I think it looks grungey and cool
Same same
Same, I have monolids so I don't even have lid space so like I'll take what I can get 😒
Love it! Part 2 pls!!
I love it when you do these videos, Tati! You’ve taught me so much over the years - I super value your knowledge and expertise! Thank you!
Definitely do a part two 😍
So many I’ve seen complaining about bronzers making them look muddy. It’s because they are applying the bronzers incorrectly. This is a great tutorial for everyone to see and learn tricks and mistakes to avoid. Awesome Tati and loving your bun do!
The wrong undertone bronzer can look muddy too
@@oggtastic yes! And the wrong depth! I'm hair enough that I can only use the Hula bronzer in the summer. The rest of the year I need a lighter shade. Also, a little bronzer goes a long way. Learning to start with less and build up your products really helps prevent that muddy look.
@@oggtastic That part too yes
@@RachaelTheRed Agree 💯
More of these, please!! So glad you are back!
I'm glad you are doing these "back to the basic" technique videos. I think makeup style has changed a lot in the last 5-6 years and those of us that mastered the popular techniques from 5 years ago need to learn some of the newer makeup application styles.
thanks for the tips tati i felt like we were right back into the year 2019 or something! time goes so so fast but these types of videos from you are so awesome, then and now!💞
It’s a better day when Tati posts. 💞💕❤️
Thanks for the tips Tati!!!
Hehe, the bloopers are VERY sweet, love that additional touch. It is beautiful to see your fun side, and lovely to see you having some fun with makeup. xx
You are the best part of my day ❤️ I love you so much
Just wanted to say you’re GLOWING
For someone to be radiating this much good energy even when they’re going through hard things is SO rare
I hope you’re doing great ❤️ remember how many of us love and treasure you
This was super helpful Tati! Lashes are so new to me and they were never turning out like yours and I would’ve never known!! Thank you so much!!!! ❤️❤️
I need more of these please! These are pure gold 👏👏👏👏
Love your tips Tati! So glad you're back! You brighten a pretty dark world.
This was great. I feel like we get so into our habits or routine that sometimes it's nice to have a refresher course
Amaziiiing!!! More recommendations please for aging eyes! ❤️ (im 33 but my eyes are so hooded, I need the videos for "aging women". 🤣 I embrace it.)
Thanks for sharing Tati, great tips♥️
Loved love great video!!
Up or down, Tatis hair always looks so good!!! Gorgeous always!!!
Hey Tati!💜✨ Always looking forward to watch your videos🥰 Ilysm!!♥️
Yes please do more of these! 👏🏼♥️
These types of videos feel like an OG makeup tutorial video and I love it - it makes me feel so cozy and weirdly nostalgic in a way.
I like everything you do! Nothing else matters. I’m a grown woman…I can figure out if I like something then I can do it.
Loved this video, Tati! I learned alot and you do such a great job in illustrating both what to do and not to do. What a difference just a few small measures make in your makeup application. Thanks for taking the time to show us your recommendations. No one does makeup as flawlessly as you!!! Merry Christmas!
Loved this! Thank you Tati 😊😊
Love this video!!! Thanks for the tips!
Literally hit on all the things we 80’s babies struggle with. 🤦🏻♀️ when you mentioned the liner and eye shadow 🎯👌🏼😂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I need to practice lol
Oh and my name is Renee, too! There aren't a whole lot of us, from my experience. So hi! 😎
I started doing my makeup in the very early 2000's. We didn't use as much makeup like they do today. Much of it I think is overdoing it but I have adapted to using a bit of bronzer and maybe some concealer when needed.
Love this. Love all your tips. I would love do's and don'ts that AGE YOU. looking forward to your next one.🥰
Yes please! More do’s and don’ts 😍
No! Never sick of these! Love these videos!
God! I laughed so hard at the eyeliner mistake😂😂 I have been doing that since forever and always wondered what is that I’m doing wrong??? Thank you so much I hope your tip is going to help 🥰😂❤️
me too :) Do you know what brand the eyeliner is? :)
Disagree about the eyeshadow. Those of us with hooded eyes need to go above the crease. I will say I agree about leave space below the brow, but a lot of space on the brow bone but very hooded eyes. Your tip only applies to your eye shape.
Love this bun, so cute!! Love this video Tati!!!
Fabulous tips !! THANK YOU
I really enjoy tips from a pro. In certain areas, I still struggle. Love this style video Tati! 😘
Loved this one Tati! I really need more lessons on applying lashes. I have practiced over and over and it is still so difficult for me. I have watched a hundred different application videos and it frustrates me so much that I STILL can't get it right.
Great video Tati thanks for sharing 😘
Loved loved this video. Thank you Tati
I've been doing my makeup for a few years now and it's still sweet and refreshing to see more Beginner friendly content
I remember when you taught me the eye blending technique years ago. It completely changed my eyeshadow game 💕
Love these teaching/useful techniques videos! ♥️ Thanks, Tati! 🥰😘
Loved this video!! Very helpful
Yes! Here for the upload! I’m having a rough week and Tati videos make me feel better! Love you Tati!
Isn't she so relaxing? Haha I can't explain it.
@@SWNelson7 yes! It’s her vibe and voice
This was a really nice informative video 👏🏼👏🏼Thank You Tatti 🧡
love love love the how to's. sooo helpful. I watch them over and over.
Love this video!! Definitely do more 😊
I've been watching Tati since early high school. Now, I'm in my second year of law school, and I have religiously watched every video release. I'm halfway through finals and taking a break to do my makeup and watch Tati. It's tradition.
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve learned a lot watching it. I always wondered why my eyes looked so closed off after I was done with my makeup. You’re a lifesaver for makeup application.
love this type of videoss!!
Love it! SO GLAD you are uploading again... much love. x
I love these type of videos. Tati, you look beautiful and I’m interested in how you do your makeup, the actual application. I think when you are saying I do this people weirdly think that’s a reflection on what they do; that you saying “I do this” is somehow a reflection on someone else’s choices, it’s not. You do you (and tell us about 💛).
I LOVE this type of videos! It just feel like OG make up tutorials
Thank you for such great tips!
Loved this video! Very helpful! More of these please! Thanks Tati!
Super helpful tips with the lashes because I absolutely suck at doing them, lol. I rarely wear any, but if I do, thank you so much, Tati. ❤️
Seriously! I tried AGAIN this morning and it was an EPIC FAIL!
Best part to setting spray is not looking a powdery , ill even melt my makeup in with my BB and SP , love this technique. Thanks Tati your the best 😘😊❤️
Loved the help
Love these types of videos!!
Love love love this video!!! You can see the differences so obviously on how it changes your face shape so much!! Just ignore the rude people and please continue with the makeup tricks!! Everyone just talks about the products but not how to use them properly.. without these techniques we can’t maximize all the amAzing makeup!! ❤️❤️❤️
Finally! This is the Tati you were always meant to be. A leader and a teacher and you seemed to be more of your authentic self. You're standing up against what society sways us to believe, and even something as just makeup is important. We should think for ourselves and just be open to suggestion instead of trying to fit in to not make waves. It's nice to finally meet you, Tati! Now get working on your first music album so we can hear that pretty voice.
More please Tati!
Loving the tips and tricks Tati! 💄💋
Tati so exciting to have you back with us giving us content love it
Blush? Highlighter? Lip liner? Lipstick? Eyebrows?
This needs a part 2.
Love these videos !
loved this video! so helpful!
I love when you teach us Tati 👩🏫
I’m in the hospital about to have a baby watching this 😂🙌🏼
Oh my gosh, that's amazing Angela!
Blessings on you and your baby!
xo's
This was fun! Definitely do another!
I absolutely love this video thanks Tati
Lol "I'm not setting that other side." Lmao. You're so Funny Tati. Yes it's bad Tati, I'm guilty of doing some of that stuff. I appreciate these videos.
Everyone also remember to place product based on your face/eye shape not just where someone tells you. If a "dont" is better on your specific face then that's what you should do.
Love the tips! Please keep them coming.
Love all your makeup tips & tricks! Keep ‘em comin’!
