    Traditional probiotic rich food of tamilnadu - "Neer Agaram" - Left over rice porridge & " coconut milk " & tender coconut water are also probiotic rich.

      @@nisahahmad264 To make neeragaram which is also called ice briyani, soak left over rice in water overnight.In the morning add salt ,curd(optional) and mix them well and have it as a meal or drink with pickles or chutney

    In olden days people used to soak leftover rice in water nd keep overnight and consume it next day along with dahi or some chatni. This rice is very good in probiotics. You can also mix dahi or butter milk to the rice nd keep overnight. It is very good for health.

      Yes - you are 100% right! Being a South Indian - I have had this humble yet filling breakfast everyday non-stop throughout my school/ college/working life in B'bay till the age of 26! I have absolutely no regrets about any fancy breakfast. I could be free of hunger fr minimum (6) hours! Thanx to the good old meals - it's kept me healthy so far!

    Keep Leftover Rice in a mud pot fill it with water,little bit of salt and Buttermilk and leave it for a day or two and eat that rice with pickle and drink that liquid..its our traditional probiotic recipe for Summer since my childhood.

    Raabdi is consumed as probiotic drink during hot summers in Rajasthan. Barley porridge (jau daliya) is cooked in chhas(buttermilk),like Kadhi, during evening time and left overnight. It is blended with chhas and consumed as a drink during mornings.

    Well thanks for rejuvenating our old traditional fermenting foods like pickle and kanji we all know how much benefitial such fermented appetizers for our gut health and overall our immunity sadly though most people have forgot that in the present time of fast food lifestyle so what you are doing is great 👍 and there is a drink call solekadhi which is more popular in coastal Maharashtra and Goa which is used as an appetizer after a meal which l even sometime prepared and drink 🙏

    In Bengal we use fermented cooked rice called Panta bhat. Cooked rice with little water is kept overnight for fermentation. It turns mildly sour. Eaten with chilli, onion and a small bhaji.
