I really attempted mixed media with this piece, but I regret doing the background! Should I try this challenge again? 👀💙
Yess
Yes, please!!! I’d love to see Ohuhu markers and colored pencils. 😊
Yes!!
I would love to see a comparison. I think you did an excellent job with the supplies that you had. Blessings.
Definitely
Fun fact: your supposed to put water in the markers to make them work, thats why you can take the bottoms off
What!? My childhood was a LIE.
Almost makes me want to buy one just to see how much better they'd work...
Thanks for the info!
How'd you figure that out that's what I want to know lol thanks for the info
@@ashleeporter34 other CZcams videos lol, yeah I'm not entirely sure if it actually works cause I've never tried but makes sense right?? 😂
Whyyyy don’t they put this on the box? that’s just rude of them
Oooooo
I'd love to see a side by side comparison of your favorite products against this case. You did amazing for the tools you had! 💙

Remembering myself when I was a child being excited having this. until this day I still don't know what's that small bottle for. And it smells awful 😭
It’s glue I think cuz I tried using i5 a phew years back
It's for the watercolor
The bottle is too spray the water on the water colour😊
@@louisechurch6270 it doesn't smell like glue tho.. it smells awful
I don’t have one like this, but I have one like this, but more better
I feel so nostalgic watching you open that children’s art set! My grandma used to get me these kits when I was younger and was my gateway to art. But man, I was screaming with those first layers of markers! 😅 those markers just rip up the paper, gunk up and bleed. And those watercolors 💀
An oil pastel video would be great!!!! Its something I want to learn and experiment with too!!
You haven’t made a video In days
I agree she should make one
It’s nice to have you back! I’ve been using your sketch transfer technique for a while now, I almost forgot I learned it from you. It’s so helpful. It takes away the fear of messing up the sketch in the coloring stage. I can go for it, knowing that I can always just try again with a “copy” of the original sketch.
Yes, I’d love to see you try oil pastels.
Yes exactly! ❤️
Ik I love her she was my childhood ✨✨✨
I enjoy oil pastels! In my experience, the type of paper really matters and you can usually get good results with budget pastels. paper has to have some texture/ grit to it otherwise they will not blend at all and stay streaky. Brown paper bags work nicely. I'd love to see a video with you trying them out!

That crappy brush brought me back to my childhood... all the dollar store art sets had it. Pretty sure that was what put me off painting for 10 years
People might disagree, but you could make art with anything.
I actually agree with you bc really you can if your a artist theres no limit to what you can do…. Unless you have art block
So your telling me I can use cucumbers to make art
But some u can like this as example:

As a kid i use to lick the hell out of the marker tips praying for some ink 😂😂
😂😂😂

lol
💀💀 why 💀💀
seeing those markers takes me back 😬 crazy seeing them actually work!? I only ever remember them being dry as anything 😂
Yeah bc some kits required you to add water to the pens since the bottoms were removable for that reason. Other kits had the water already added in so they worked well.
I’d love to see a full oil pastel video, they’re my favorite medium!! From my experience it really comes down to the paper you have, even crayola oil pastels work very well on the right type of paper.
Do you have any recommendations for good oil pastel paper?
@@TemiDansoArt They work wonderfully on canvas panels, so i would suggest canvas like paper, or canvas panels themselves. But if yoy use paper, it needs a little bit of tooth to grab on too so sanding helps before using them, unless the paper already works well. I can’t recommend any specific products because I’ve had oil pastel paper perform worse than non oil pastel paper before😂
would love to see you try this again with your professional supplies. also an all oil pastel would be awesome! ❤
Girl that looks great! I must admit I was quite surprised with how well some of the supplies worked. Those watercolours and that brush though- 😂
It be looking like my crappy mascara and eyeshadow palate 😭
You should definitely try this challenge again in the future! Keep it going Temi 💙
I don’t think I could have made something that good with those supplies:) and also you and a handful of other have inspired me so much!!! I even started a art channel!!!❤
Ayeee good luck with your channel!
@@TemiDansoArt thanks!!!❤️
i used to use one of these all the time at my grandparents, it was a winnie the pooh one and i loved it. i hated those brushes even then though and the way you used it lmao, i genuinely have no clue what those brushes are good for
I’m convinced those brushes have ZERO use! Like could you just put 1 good brush in there?!
I can feel the dryness of those markers in my bones but it really made you feel like an artist.
for oil pastels, i put a bit of baby oil on a cotton bud then lightly rub over the oil pastels in little circles. works the best for blending colours together but you need really thick paper for it
For the water color I believe you have to use that little gel bottle on the side for slightly better results
I had a similar at set as a kid, and those crayons were the worst. I remember them being very waxy.
The absolute worst! I don’t know what I was thinking to take this on😂😂
The way you organize the supplies is so visually apepaling.
Fun fact I’ve actually been using the same watercolors from that old set it lasted years bc I didn’t use watercolors back them but I recently got a watercolor brush and watercolors and it’s amazing to have.
The brush i got in that set is soo smooth and soft easy to use😊
I got a kit just like this for my birthday when I was 6 or 7 and I used the scissors to cut my own bangs 😨😬😂
😂😂😂😂
Even with the crappy materials, you still did 1000% better than I could do lol.
My A-level art teacher shoehorned me into doing massive sized oil pastel pieces for my final exams in Fine Art. I feel you on having a vendetta against them because my fingers had indents in them by the time I was through. If it's any consolation, I think applying the fluid at least got rid of the negative spaces left behind by the paper's texture, just not with the same consistency. I have no doubt that with better grade oil pastels, it would have been a more smooth finish.
That aside, I think you were very resourceful with these materials, even if the quality wasn't stellar. I feel like the sharp and rigid bristles on the original paintbrush was intended to scratch up the paint pallettes since they have a chalky consistency from my recollection. I also remember my own set's reaction to water was inconsistent - some were really pigmented while others were very faint.
The markers were definitely the saving grace of this kit! When I was a kid, I used them until they were gasping for moisture. And they seemed to have applied really well for the central part of the illustration here!
Good work as always, Temi!
Temi, that looks legit🔥 I don't think I could have done that, I would have had panic attacks and probably stop making art completely 😂. Anyways, I love you and your art It inspires me (I'm currently studying engineering btw) You inspire me to follow my passion ❤ . Hopefully I will too leave this profession and become a full time artist ❤❤❤❤
Oh my goodness, the first thing I do when I get a new set of any art supplies is re-organize the colors!!!
Yes to the oil pastels in your future video! :) I use oil paints mineral spirit to create an even blend with oil pastels for backgrounds, it works very well. And suprisingly, the best paper I've discovered so far for them is watercolor paper (cold pressed, 100% cotton). And Mungyo have great affordable price/ quality ratio oil pastels.
I think the drawing turned out great,, especially with the supplies you used. I really enjoyed the video! :)
Your video just landed in my feed, Temi and you've got a new subscriber! You've got a huge amount of talent. I've watched a couple of your older pencil sketch videos too. I used to sketch but could never get portraits right. If always get frustrated and throw them away. 😂 I've been watching fluid artists for a couple of years now but I've always been drawn to mixed media. That's what drew me to you. Thx for sharing your talent, creativity and expertise. 💜
It turned out amazing!! I have had these kits laying around in the store room for years... This motivates me to challenge myself-
Also if I were to do the background I would dip one of the blue markers in water and make watercolor to paint it.
Even cheap sketch pens make really good watercolors
BROO i have the same kit cause my lil sis let me have it
Welcome back - you look extra beautiful in this video=) (you always are !) These sets always had such terrible erasers and watercolours - worst memory ever. The end result looks pretty neat, I wouldn't have created something like this with such supplies=)
Yes, definitely a side by side comparison. You did well to have stuck with it.
Yes please! Oil pastel is my favorite medium. Do a full video
I love your videos and I am a beginner artist so these are really helpful😊
Girl, where have you been?! It has been over a month since you last posted! I was starting to get worried!! I missed your videos so much, but thank you for uploading such another great one!! As always, it’s nice to see your beautiful face and fun ideas for art!! 😊❤
I love Temi so much.❤And her tutorials, mwah chef’s kiss.👩🏿🍳
It was this sort of collection that got me into Art. My Mum bought me one for Christmas and I have so many memories of sitting on lots of bin bags (because I was so messy with my art) and my Mum had bought me a roll of plain paper instead of a book and I would paint and draw for hours while my MASSIVE Deerhound would lay behind me and I'd use him as a back rest. It makes me so happy to think about.
Hi tami I love ur vids and also I had this set when i was a kid sooooooo
Me too😅
I’d love to see you redo this with your preferred medium! Also, just imo but I think the reference you used also did you wrong, I know it’s stylized but there is some anatomy mistakes in it and general weirdness with some of the proportions. I feel like finding just a hand to reference and using that image to get a feel for how to do the chrome effect would help a bit there.
Agreed! It looks more wrong than stylized, not sure why
I’m so happy you reordered, that was what I’d do and was hoping you’d do!! Thank you!! 😂😂
Gurlllll your nails are just like can we have minute to appreciate her beautiful nailssss ❤😍🥹💅🏾💅🏾💅🏾
The rearranging was so satisfying 😂❤
The ones I got the markers were always dead *Traumatised* 😂

I already know that I’m going to love this channel! Just subscribed
Omg I had a kit like this when I was a kid 😭 brings back memories from using what was available
People who had these as a kid 👇
It looks so good for how booty cheeks that art supplies is.
Ou definitely did well/great with the supplies you were using ❤. Keep up the great work.
Absolutely amazing! 👏💖
A video i reluctantly clicked..... and its not you. Its THAT thing you're holding !!
Those "art kits" are pure evil haha
😂😂
Girl you’ve got to be more gentle and build up at least with bad oil pastels cause they can be really hard to work with 😭
I used to only take the sharpeners out and get rid of everything, I never sharpened any pencils with them, but still I liked getting the sets at christmas
No me too 😂 I love reordering colors when they aren’t in order it just feels satisfying

OMG I still have this kit in my room and I put them in rainbow order like you!
YOUR SO CALM I LOVE ITT
i had one of these sets 3 years ago and the brush was actually quite good and so were the oil pastels but nothing else except the sharpener, pencil and note book (but they don't really count)
7:10 OMg- this drawing is jut gorgeous noo like the detailing u did on the lips and eyes wow ur so talented where’s me here trying to draw everyday wasting high quality expensive paper
Your one of the best artists that I ever saw on youtube! Continue your amazing work! 😁😁😁
So true with the paints. When I was 8 I wanted to make a picture for my grandpa and I had that set and I used the paints. They were absolutely horrible it was not pigmented at all but I think u did a fantastic job with ur hand. ❤
And also I had the same problem with the Organization I spent sooo long ordering every in a nice rainbow order😂😅
Hello Temi, I would love to see you try making art with oil pastels in the future. Maybe you can test different brands and see which works for you. Honestly, the first ever art supply i ever got was an oil pastel. I loved them so much since they were vibrant and creamy, but it depends on the brand. I would 100 percent recommend Joy Oil pastels they're cheap but good quality. In my country, oil pastels are cheap, so it's the only art supply I can actually afford to make art with.
Sorry for the rant. HAHA
I'm not too familiar with which paper works best for oil pastel since I use illustration boards every time I make a piece with oil pastels, and they're great, at least for my standard.
I remember being a kid and adoring those types of sets and i always had this sensation to organize everything in rainbow order
Hi, I have just found your Chanel. When using this set you have to remember that these sets are bought for young children to use, to practice colouring etc. they are not designed for fine art at ages 4-9. As children grow in their skills and want to pursue art then better materials will be bought.
I have watched a few of your ‘shorts’ and loved what you made. I subscribed after watching this video 😁🐝🌻
I got that in first grade it was my first set when I used it I loved the vibrate colours and every stroke of it I loved it that’s when I fell ing love with art
u r one of those people who make watching art and drawing videos rlly fun and interesting and not just like u r watching a robot draw a stick man. I love ur work
Those crates are actually really cute for kids!!!
Glad you're back I missed you❤❤
Omg I really love ur art temi I wish u were my art teacher
I'd love to see this and the one with good supplies next to each other!
Yeaaaa welcome back beautiful!!!!!❤❤
Thank you!❤️❤️
Please post more often!!
We miss you 😭😭
Your art is next level! I love your work 😍😍
I’d be interested in seeing a side by side with materials you do like
A tip about oil pastels like this is that you should use your finger or a piece of kitchen roll to blend it out.Hope that helps
I definitely recognize them into beautiful organization when I use Art Supply
I really like it!I am not kidding this is really impressive!❤️💕I cannot even do this great!when the final result was shown for me this was like the exact type that you showed on your device
Keep up your great art work👍🏻
1:20, no, you are not the only one. I also want every colourful thing in rainbow order. 😅
Your not the only one who organized things in a simply aesthetic way🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂
PLEASE try this again with your fav products!
I had that exact kit! My dad got me when I was younger! It's the exact same!
I think those markers are water-based rather than alcohol-based, which is why they’re streaky and don’t blend well. These markers that are made for kids are generally water-based
Thank you for organizing the whole case- 😭💕💕
This is exactly the ones I had when I was a kid!
I just love her voice ❤
You did amazing
I had that exact set when I was little and the second I opened it I put it all in the rainbow order because it didn’t look right before and I somehow managed to make some sort of art with this set but I would definitely not go back!!
the side by side would be soooo fun :D
Hi remind I love your videos so much. you inspire me so much!!
OMG I GOT THIS FOR CHRISTMAS LAST YEAR
This truly brought me back to my childhood ✨ in a great way haha. I don’t think I everrrr painted. Theyd get dry and fall out but I always loveddd the markers!
I enjoy watching BlackBean CMS do oil pastels so I'd like to see you working with them. Watching the pigment glide onto the paper is so satisfying.
I think that was a LOT of work.
Fun to watch.
That was pretty good for those markers I was so Suprised when I Saw the result ❤
Beautiful 😍
I would like to see you try oil pastels 💜
YOU'RE VOICE IS SO BEAUTIFUL ❤️ SLAY
Ngl when I read the title I was happy to watch this .Even when I seen your face I was also happy to watch this video😊😊😊❤❤❤
