Youâll never find a more human moment. He needed this interaction as much as she did.

There's a scene in Jack Reacher that starts similarly, but ends very differently.

Loved organic this scene felt. You almost forget you're watching a movie. I can't speak for everyone, but for me, this scene hit a home run in getting me invested in the characters. Moments like these can change lives. The scene was simple, but it snowballed into changing both of their lives for the better in the end.
Absolutely agree.
definitely not organic in any sense but great dialogue for a movie scene!
This is I believe why Denzel accepted this role in more than just another action flick in the style of Steve Seagal or van Damme goofs for frat bro's.
The human interactions allow him to display those Shakespeare stage quality of performances which he has honed and cultivated to such finely skilled mechanism as a Swiss watch

Denzel is one of the top 5 actors of all time!!
He's in the list of the top 5 most overrated actors of all time. He plays Denzel incredibly well - as he should. He has zero versatility. What it boils down to is you like Denzel's character. He has a massive fan base, thus he pulls in the money, which is why he consistently gets into great movies which is why you think he's a great actor. What you mostly like, are the actual talent behind the scenes - the story writers and the directors.
@@calibos3329 You have zero business rating actors or actresses as evidenced by your déclassé review. Try harder to sound intellectual.

Most people who work a shit job don't do it out of enjoyment but because they were unfortunate enough to be locked in a position with little to no hope of ever getting out of it. When you have bills to pay and perhaps a family to feed, you don't get the luxury of "choosing your life" unless you win the lottery or you have a sufficient financial buffer to cover the temporary loss your career switch will inevitably create.
"Taking risks" is unironically the best option for those who don't have much to risk because they already have a guarantee to not lose everything, especially in today's world you cling on what little you have very hard and you don't take any chances.
There is no such thing as meritocracy, not in a system based on economic growth because it will always revolve around wealth, have and have nots, never the value of the individual itself.

Revisiting this scene AFTER you watch Denzel kill everyone and everything in his way in both Equalizer 1 and 2 makes you realize that truly, Chloe Moretz's character has no idea that there IS a life even worse than hers that Denzel lived through and isn't spouting a platitude.

Denzel was seriously MADE for this role. He's fantastic in it. A very complex character.
Finally acting... with conversations, which have significance to real life!
Hollywood got there eventually. ..
Absolutely, I love the space in between their replies, it creates an incredible awkwardness and tension.
A lot of his movies/characters have it.
I've never been able to put my finger on what it is I like most about Denzel. Maybe it's just that he's so sincere and real that he incorporates so much of himself into his acting,
I don't know who this actress is, but she did a phenomenal job of showing us vulnerability.
Chloe grace moretz. She's good actress
Especially intriguing as that's Hit-Girl.
Two worlds. We can feel it in this scene. One she is in, trapped, dark, that keeps calling her, owning her. She wants to break out of it. And the other is the one he lives in; calm, bright, open, kind, gentle, honest, full of oportunities. She get close to it, to feel it. Even thou she is full of doubts, she sense there is something else there. Something more than what she knows. A world where she is not treated as an object to take advantage of but as a human being. This is the world she wants to live in. She mades decision. And soon later those thugs from dark world hurted her pretty bad for it. Seeing this he made his decision to make things equal. To deliver the justice and punish the unworthy. And bring relief and saving grace to the suffering one, the one who dared to dream and was deemed worthy of help.
We can choose to be true to our internal values, or deny them. Either way, there's a price. If we deny them, eventually it tears us apart from the inside. But others will seek to tear us apart if we follow them.
LOL, it is a script.
Wow. You explain it beautifully
You can write. You got my attention!!
I love as soon as she tells him her real name, he asks what happened to her face.
She told him a âsecretâ or something personal and she became a friend/family to him and he immediately became defensive and protective over her.
You know damn well, if she actually said someone did that to her face, heâd go out and kill that person.
could also be the reason that he didn't want her to know his real name, so he quickly switched the topic
A bit of mentoring but no judgment, no prejudice, just an open talk.
One of my favorite movie scenes. Such superb acting. Such deep meaning. Truly moving and profoundly powerful.
Hats off for the superb acting in this movie.

Denzel can always knock it out of the park when it requires stillness in the scene. The effect allows you the time to process all the layered emotions not spoken. In fact movies in general have lost this art. But Chloe steps in this scene and just doesn't skip a beat. She's done some really cool and fun stuff. But this scene probably did more for her in the way of opportunities than any other. Simply amazing to watch time and time again.
