The windows stay in position relative to where you are facing, which for now is a good thing. When the augment tech is ready, we can stick windows permanently to a surface space. It's getting better.

Thanks for bringing out that the windows do not totally remember their locations should we do resets or turn off and than back on. I just got V66 update last night, so I am learning what it has to offer to the Quest 3. Take care.
Its getting tanterlisinly close to a real productivity booster .. Just halve the weight , double the battery and improve the pass through and its there!
The problem with that is you can’t cut the weight in half and double the battery because the battery is where most of the weight is coming from. In order to make the quest lightweight as possible, there will need to be an external battery just like AVP or the way bobovr has there halo strap setup. I hope Meta goes that approach imo
@isaiahleggett24 majority of battery improvements need to come from software optimizations and cpu efficiency. Avoiding oversized battery, but allowing expansion is must.
@@isaiahleggett24 The battery isn't even close to the majority of its weight. If you *completely* removed the battery altogether, it would barely make a difference. (check out some tear downs, they've literally weighed the battery)
It's getting closer to what streamers need. If they would let us put up a single window browser, lock it in place, and keep it up when we enter games, we would be able to pull up live chat in our streaming platform of choice like twitch, tik tok, etc. Cause there are so many native games I would love to show off and stream but cannot because we can't see our community chat in native non pcvr games. This is exactly the update I have been looking for, allowing placement of multiple windows anywhere. Many apps and games have cool features that I wish Meta would implement in their devices. For example, I wish Meta had "passthrough portals" for use in VR environments like Immersed.
With every update this Quest 3 headset is getting more amazing! This is what a company does to support its headset.. constant updates.. unlike "some big name" companies.... which release their headset and forget about it completely..

You can already kind of do that. But while the browser window is open you can't interact with the game/app at all. Not sure how they can fix that because you can't focus two apps at once. It would be like if you were gaming in a 2d game on your computer and you wanted to have a browser window open on top of your game. You can focus the browser window but now your game is not in focus anymore. The implementation would have to be done in the game/app itself. They would all need to have an in game web browser.
I dont care to interact with the window on top while gaming. Just want it to appear on top which should be possible to do like a picture in picture video. Just make the window not interactible unless you pause the game via meta button. Android phones can do split screen multi tasking and multi window things with pretty much any app. It should get added to the quest3 and can't wait till it does.
Hey you're lucky! In the new 69 update you will be able to keep open any window you want while gaming! It's confirmed because some people already have it.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. v67 had installed automatically but that experimental option wasn't there. I rebooted and it appeared. I ticked it and it asked me to reboot. The option is nice as a first parse. You can now quickly get into a messy window environment ;) It needs a button to re-align all windows automatically. Also they should use the joystick to tilt the windows and maybe to re-align them. They should also use the other joystick button for moving the windows closer or further away without having to stretch your arms. Even though I have v67, my pass through is still warped when I bring the phone to reading distance.
Smaller and cooler design ( i mean cool like cold...) higher resolution and we dont need a monitor combo. Is there a vr/ar solution on the market for professional work? Thx for the video❤
have they fixed the option to have multiple 2D windows open while you're in a 3D app ? This worked a while ago, but Meta removed this with one of the latest updates.
This update seems to have broken lying down mode. The update seems really good even lying down simply viewing the windows but skybox no longer lets me scroll my videos while lying down. Not sure if its system wide or just the app. Quite bummed about that
I always use the Fluid app. It allows you to put a passthrough window anywhere so you can grab your drink when you're watching a movie without knocking it over.
I am not finding headset settings in my settings menu. I have looked in the devices/( there is no advanced settings), searched for headset and public test channel, no luck with anything. I have restarted my headset. I am very sad that my headset settings and other settings menus are missing. 😢
I'm interested to know if you have had any headsets that went into a logo loop or gray screen after an update. I'm at 7 or 8 returns. My Quest 2 and Quest 3 both went into the loop yesterday and factory reset does nothing. I was having a good run of no troubles too! So replacement time for me. I just got to know how I'm so lucky and never hear that happens to anyone else... Have any tips to prevent this??
The fact that windows repositioned is not a negative because it want an added feature it has always existed and so far it has been a good thing for us… hopefully when better implementation are ready for that it’ll be shipped… so far so good the updates are all a huge improvement and I’m glad meta is taking things one step at a time, these gradual improvements help to reduce the bugs associated with shipping a huge update with loads of changes

Yeah i can't watch movies in 3d side by side anymore. Normaly was there if u have it in fullscreen, a option for 3 d videos and movies. Do someone know how its works now? Or it is out from the Software?

I just got my Q3.. What is the purpose and benefit of having multiple browsers, windows if theres nothing to do with them except croll and find the app that you’ll be using in a magnified form?
It's odd how they don't allow windows distance adjustment via the joystick forward/back. It's already a feature of other apps and is a bit of a no brainer so I wonder if there is actually a third party patent that is holding them back on this feature.
assuming you had the quest version of word, and excel open in two windows this way do you suppose you could copy and past text and images from one to the other?

Quest game optimizer can make it look clearer but can cause some hiccups if your recording, and playing a game while it's running. Also this is how clear it looks while streaming
I like the new update... there's one feature I wish that they can implement,...the option to dim the passthrough while watching Netflix on the browser, ...you can only do this in the virtual environment but not the passthrough...and also please bring back the "Shows mixed reality objects" option..
PTC seems to get pushed out the same way as normal updates, even it you're in it, it doesn't mean you'll get PTC updates when everyone else will. I got v67 on Quest 2 but can't get it on Quest 3 yet.(which is what I use most and want it on lol)
What was the point of the wrist buttons because the pinching still works for me and I can’t turn it off so it’s not really helping, I don’t see the meta logo when pinching but it still opens the menu when I pinch. Is there any way to fix that? I feel like the whole reason that they added wrist buttons was that you wouldn’t pinch something in a game and open the menu, or am I wrong?
I tried it and turned it off. I don't know it feels too random to me in a way it opens new windows. It behaves too much like a desktop. I think default behavior should be more mobile like. Hopefully it will be something which can be configured more.

Absolutely amazing! This is the best update other than better passthrough. I hope passthrough can still improve until it is crystal clear. This update is great, having 6 apps open is a huge game changer. I already use remote play to play PS5 while having CZcams and Reddit opened, soon I'll have trading view open, discord, telegram and maybe a twitch stream chat. UNREAL.
Does it remember the position and how many windows you have open, for example, you open 6 windows then launch a game, when you quit the game, are all 6 windows still there in the same position?
They said there's an invisible 66.5 update, not officially by number but basically a separate update from 66. Like usual, the updates are rollouts so you'll get it eventually. Definitely if you get v67

Im not sure I am going to use the 6 window thing... 3 is plenty curved around you with multiple tabs... maybe open youtube on web, instagram, whatsapp, web browsing, email, netflix... I have the Spatial App... and don't find it super useful to pepper windows everywhere, when realistically you can only see 3 windows properly... maybe with windows ontop of the 3 curved main windows... what's good is that Quest 3 is feeling the competition with Vision Pro... and is trying to go toe to toe... OH maybe with APK from APK pure... have some APK open ontop of the 3 windows.... maybe if Im in the kitchen and want to place a window near the cooking.... and have other windows in my dining room table... while I wait for cooking times.... not sure!!!!
Where are the AI voice commands in Meta VR? waiting for new chatGTP voice mode? or llama eat more grass hehe. Why doesn't the browser have a simple translator =/, Where is the swype mode on the virtual keyboard? How difficult is it for Meta to offer a real home where we can personalize and not these limited environments.
I have so many simple ideas that we can improve Meta's experience centuries ago that I'm amazed that it still hasn't implemented simple things, even though it has a huge team taking care of the project.

If you're watching Netflix in the browser and use the full screen option the background goes black you also have 4 screen sizes to choose from

You might be better off buying a used quest 3 since it's not new you might find a deal

This explains the ads they've been running. It was almost a slap in the face to us to run those first before even the test channel update was out.
Been waiting for this for so long watching anime and and 2d apps in the tablet mode was painful for seated play

I recorded via quest 3 but how come the fov isn't as big as this recording, mine instead looks like a square video cut to 16:9

Spatial apps allows passthrough dimming on the quest, but it would definitely be a welcome addition to home-passthrough
