@@brianthedesertbumit actually happens in so many careers. It's the very reason the police are so corrupt, for example. But even industries you wouldn't expect can be like that. The difference is the most powerful industries (such as Hollywood, police, and military) have the most powerful tactics.
It's like the bullying Alexa described during Zoey 101 - it only takes 1 or 2 bad people to get into a position of power then everyone is so on edge that they join in for fear of backlash. It's not isolated to nickelodeon or children's shows, that mentality is present in so many places. It's frightening.
What a ridiculous comment, made all the more insane that 747 people liked it. If someone is "ranking" their alleged sexual assaults by "levels of trauma" that sounds more like evidence of being addicted to therapy and fame than evidence of serious abuse.
What's the worst example she gave (didn't have time to listen to all this)? All I heard was the Jonah Hill awkwardly kissed me one and on another site she claimed the musician she seduced at 16 (she seemed to blame it on being high on LSD), waited until she was 18 to "rape" her (the details sound gross yet consensual), then they got married.

The threat of blacklisting needs to be outlawed. It doesn't only happen to actors. I worked at a particularly toxic VFX company, and even us lowly CG artists had to grin and bear horrific abuse because complaining meant we'd never work again. It's terrible coercion, and it happens all the time in Hollywood.

Never in my life would I imagine one day I’d be watching someone from one of my fav random childhood shows interviewing with Ethan. Like this is everything and also so important to put out there, the grooming and assault that happens to kids in Hollywood is a thing and people just ignore it.

It is really nice to hear how confident she speaks on her trauma. Ethan isn’t necessarily “soft” in how he asks questions. It’s not out of malice and he is considerate but he is just very blunt. So it’s great that she gets that and is so open and articulate with everything.

I feel like it’s disingenuous to say that she lost the case as she herself dropped it and her ex husband lost his counter case against her attorneys. I get the skepticism as it’s important to verify stories but I feel like there’s enough info to verify she is telling the truth. Also let’s be fucking real here, person to person, even if the bullying was a lie, it’s been confirmed that Dan Schneider is a disgusting person and there is a huge predator problem in Hollywood concerning child actors. Her situation hanging out with Jonah Hill wasn't the first time he's done that. I live in LA and back in 2007 or 2008 I was at a house party that a co-worker of mine had in Los Feliz, he was there being really weird and gropey with some of the girls at the party, he seemed drunk and my friend had to keep asking him to stop, then eventually he and some other actor he was with was asked to leave. Some other girl at the party said he does that a lot at parties and had a routine of asking women he barely knew to go to his car or to leave with him.

She founded an organization dedicated to this and yet waited until she could maximize on the clout to call out Jonah. What Alexa went through with Dan Schneider, the bullying, even the Britney Spears situation reminds me so much of what I went through as a kid - and because of what I went through I have a PLETHORA of debilitating mental illnesses. It is really a relief to see someone speak plainly who really gets it. I had to watch my mother's court trial, she looked honestly terrible and the judge decided she was equally culpable, she was also severely abused throughout my adolescence and I have cptsd as a result of my experiences growing up in that home. It has been a really bad time for people with ptsd from domestic abuse

Hearing Alexa talk about being a survivor. Her experiences sound exactly like mine except it wasn't hollywood. I felt so connected and heard for some reason) to her. Shes so lovely.
A victim doesn't step on other victims to be heard. Abusers, selfish people speak over a victim or survivor that voice their trauma.
Zoey101 was my show growing up. 😢 and I loved Alexa’s character, now I know why her character left. That’s truly sad. I understand having to force yourself to stay with your bullies. I went to summer camp and was relentlessly bullied until I could come home. Not able to leave, surrounded by adults who should advocate for you but stay silent when you approach them. I feel for her. I don’t know if I would have made it as a child star.
Okay but some of my biggest trauma is from being bullied at summer camp and not being able to go home or have any adult listen to you. I know exactly how you felt. That experience literally made me never leave the place I grew up in to this day.
@@Sophia-bf5fr Exactly! All my other trauma, not down play it, but the main one that sticks with me are the ones where I’m put in a situation where I can’t leave and the “adults” around don’t help. THAT….is what stuck with me the most. The helplessness. I feel for her.

It’s kind of shocking how many comments I’ve seen trying to discredit Alexa in some way because of the amount of SA or abuse she’s experienced. At LEAST 1/3 women experience some form of sexual assault in their lives, and usually more than once!!! How hard is it to believe? Every woman I’ve known has had many many horror stories to share about men being inappropriate. It’s not as rare as you guys think. It’s not clout chasing, people are brutally shamed for speaking about it , who would subject themselves to that? On top of the assault??

Hopefully someday in the future after she has her baby, Alexa can come back to have a regular episode. So proud of everything she's doing for victims like her but she also just looks like such a fun and kind person. Would love seeing her again.

Alexa is a victim of a grown man (Jonah Hill) getting her 15 year old self drunk and then forcing himself on her, but as a child star in the entertainment industry she has also gone through many other harrowing situations. Maybe if you watched the episode you would know that.
I love that Ethan is talking about how he’s got conditions from family he doesn’t even know. I grew up with schitzoaffective disorder because an uncle I never knew existed had schizophrenia. I never knew he existed until 5 or so years after the diagnosis. Bipolar from my moms side, got the beeeeeesssssst of both worlds

This year has really been the year of our Skinny King. Ethan has legitimately become one of CZcams's best interviewers and the variety of interviews he's done this year and how he's adapted his approach to all of them proves it.
Every time I've thought "didn't you research this dude?" it actually turns out that he had but wanted to encourage the other person to put it in their words so he can either support or challenge what they have to say later.
I hope other people who are considered 'serious interviewers' or 'debate lords' on this platform take time to learn from Ethan.
More importantly, I hope the miserable, hateful, edgelords see Ethan as an example of how based and genuinely happy they could be once they start looking inward and learn to practice self-care.

Couldn't believe how the chat changed as soon as Alexa stood up for Amber Heard everyone was saying how wonderful Alexa was until then. How they changed was disgusting in a split second just because they disagreed with Alexa who's is a Survivor of abuse but their chat was full of abusing her in the blink of an eye, scary.
You do realize that Amber lied her ass off multiple times, right? How does no one believe that a woman can abuse her husband yet they jump at the chance to villify a man when he abuses his wife?
I have a lot of issues with what she said about the abuse situations. I won't retype here, but she said a lot of contradictory things in accordance to those situations and her own.
especially when her whole point is that the case was beyond Heard or Depp. people saw the trial as a chance to attack Heard as a symbol for all women that come forward. that this trial had Heard getting a slew of hate, not because she's terrible person or an abuser, but just because she's a woman and they're misogynistic. and every woman who has been in a toxic relationship/situation are going to see this trial, see all the vitriol that was spewed at Heard, and think that they can't come forward because they're going to be attacked regardless of their role/blame.
at the end of the day, Alexa is a survivor of terrible situations and toxic relationships. she identifies with any and all women that have experienced similar situations. she knows what it's like to get unnecessary hate online, not because she's done bad things or made bad decisions, but because she's a woman publicly speaking out on the wrongs she sees. i understand why she kinda came to Heard's defense--because she would've liked to see someone defend her when she's being called all kinds of heinous things online.
it's always about more than the specific people/situation/trial/etc. it's insight into our culture and the severe problems within it at a fundamental level.

Even Jennette McCurdy barely touched on the subject and she put literally everyone in her life on blast, surely someone as big as Ariana could take him down and put him in jail right?

I loved the interview, it flowed really naturally and Alexa is a really likeable and entertaining person even while talking about such horrific topics. Thank you H3 for platforming survivors and I'm really glad Alexa is able to talk freely about her experiences and use them to help prevent the same happening to others.
I'm sure Alexa has many more stories and she has a natural chemistry with Ethan, so I would love to see her return as a guest!
May be an unpopular opinion, but the apology didn’t seem great to me. 99% of it, she was either giving excuses, or speaking of her own trauma & THEN promoting her books lol. No Britney, it’s important to touch on the fact that you berated a CHILD to the point where she was physically sick. Was not her place, and I believe Alexa deserved a more heartfelt apology. Smh
