I bought one April of 1971. Dark blue, white stripes and a white vinyl top.
4 speed 3:91 posi rear. $3200. I had to float a three year loan for it.
I sold it the next year because I was drafted into the Army and sent overseas. I had no place to store it till I returned. One of the biggest regrets of my life letting go of that car. When I went looking at them, there were several of each color in the backlot of the dealer. Red, gold, purple, white, and butterscotch. Nothing jumped out at me. There was a car transporter unloading also behind the building. It was unloading a blue and white Demon 340. I asked if it was available, and the answer was yes. THAT was my car.
I remember a song by Harry Chapin "Taxi." A line in it was "I learned about love in the back of a Dodge." No truer words were spoken!!
those big bench seats hahaha
Wadda CHeap Sleeper !Luv the DEMON!!!
Now that's a beautiful car!!!!!
what a beauty. my very first car my dad gave me. it was red. it came to its demise in an accident with a semi
71 340 Demon didn't came with electronic ignition. The manual transmission came with duel pionts and the automatic came with the signal points. I owned a 71 340 4spd. and my buddy had the automatic.
The dual point ignition was a Prestolite unit. They also used them on the earlier 273 cid 4bbl engines.
Had one back in the day with a 4 speed manual. Was a '71 in blue with black vynal top and stripes. Bought it used in '76 for $2,300.
Love them in this color.
Even the name Citron Yella is kind of fun.
Buddy had a 71 Demon 340 in metallic brown loved that car. I had a 69 Roadrunner in metallic blue.
72 was the first year of electronic ignition for 340
Automatic 😅that's a plus
