I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for why nothing has happened after all this time. Things don't always go to plan. What I find harder to forgive is the complete lack of communication with the small but loyal fanbase who has been patiently watching and waiting for the next Animusic for over fifteen years now (the last release was in 2005). Surely it wouldn't be too much to ask for even the smallest of updates, even if it's to say that no progress has been made. I'd prefer bad news to no news.
pretty sure what i heard was the head of animation part of the project Dave left after the kickstarter was complete & moved away to do his own thing. & the guy behind the whole tech part of the project was still working on it but gave up after it became a one man project. so they kinda just took the money & split lol
Can back this up: there has been a new video explaining the history and backstory of animusic. After the two split off and separated on their project, the animusic company’s building got bought out back in 2016…
Sadly, no more official animusic stuff is going to be made I assume
IIRC one guy from the duo left, and the other has been hard pressed on finishing the project because of various health issues

According to the kickstarter page, the folks at Animusic have split up. The last guy working on it intends to get the project done, but it's probably going to be a....forever.

I know for sure the first one was my childhood! We got it on DVD and VHS, it’s a classic. Thinking about it, I might try tinkering with some animation tools and music software myself some day, I’d love to see an Animusic 3, even if it’s fanmade!

An update for anyone looking here: The guys split up, but the main guy has no money, lost all his houses and most of his stuff, and basically just ran with the 200k that was given to him from kickstarter. This will never become a thing.
I first saw Animusic when I was 7. Im 16 now and ive been waiting for Animusic 3 for 9 years. I wont give up hope

animusic isnt part of my childhood, and i just got into it.
It is the 18th of August, 2017. Still no Animusic 3. However, I did come across the last known update, posted on August 20th, 2015. In summary, he is working all by himself for the most part, he has been diagnosed with a few diseases like Chronic fatigue, depression, and Bells Palsey. it's been a long, tough journey for him. But so long as he's breathing, he will finish it.
Until then, we wait.
It's now 2019 and still nothing. I'm sad.

I did some looking and found the location of the animusic studio in Ithaca, NY, and sadly, it is permanently closed. Unless Wayne is working from his house, sadly I don't think animusic 3 will ever be a thing. @@Goldrusher-ee3jo, that's correct. They're in the process of implementing Unreal Engine into their next release for better physics instead of tracing all of the paths and making up the speeds of gravity themselves. www.animusic.com/ue4

@@pamiparocks that doesnt mean that they can just keep silent about it without providing us fans any major updates who had waited for 8 fcking years! There were a lot of inconsistencies and incidents that happened to animusic until now and im not sure who is currently working on it right now since the headquarters had already being sold to some company. Is it only Wayne himself? Did he secretly hire new animators to work with the project? Why cant they just announce whatever the hell they are currently doing like the transition to UE4 like you mentioned? Things like these are absolutely mandatory and neccessary especially when you asked fans to fund your kickstarter project in the first place.
If animamusic release just one more video, it might just give me hope back in my life

This was the first project I ever gave money to, I was so excited. I understand things change and it's probably on the shelf for good now, but please prove me wrong. One of the reasons I'm with my wife is because we bonded over Animusic.
From what I know these people went through a lot to make Animusic 3 happen and it really saddens me that it didn't go well and they went through so much hardship because of it.
I would just Honestly settle even for the incomplete version and call it quits.
I don't know if you people that made my favorite musics and fun animation still look at this chanel or read the comments,
But if you do just know that I'm extremely thankful that you made Animusic, because it really helped me in my life.

I remember hearing about part 3 being in production back in 2010. I was starting 3rd grade at the time. I'm just now going into my senior year in high school. So much time has gone by but I'm still waiting patiently. I've always been a fan since I was 4 or 5 but I'll always love Animusic :,)

Amirul Faisal I think Dave Crognale left because the project was taking so long that he didn't want to be a part of a the frustration anymore, and I suppose he wasn't as dedicated to Animusic as Wayne has always been. Even without him though, I still believe that Animusic 3 will come out eventually, but probably not until even more time than expected has passed, and at the very least, if Wayne dies before he can finish his project, then his family will likely release whatever was finished of the project as a partial posthumous release. I hope he finishes the whole thing before that would happen though (fingers crossed!)
I wish there was more communication about animusic 3. I've been waiting for this since elementary. I just graduated earlier this year (23). I hope you update us soon on this project.

I hope this is some sort of time capsule, and maybe I’ll revisit this in a few years.
I was gifted Animusic 1 by my uncle when I was very young. I was 1 year old then, I’m now 18 years old. I still have the DVD, it means a lot to me... I loved it - I still do. It’s almost emotional for me to rewatch these videos and this Kickstarter. It’s almost as if it’s a life I never got to finish.
This is a very niche piece of media that I hold onto dearly.

I was in elementary school when this video came out. I remember I used to watch Animusic every day and when I found out about this, I was so excited. I loved Animusic and the idea of having another one made me really happy as a little kid. Every once in a while I'd check the website to see if anything new had come out.
Now I'm on my second year of college.

Don't worry guys, Wayne is still at it. He's unfortunately been a one man band since David Crognale left back in 2016. Animusic 3 began production in 2007 and has been being produced by strictly Wayne since 2016. In 2015 Wayne Lytle released a stellar record by the name of "The Sound of 12." It clocks in at 53 with some change. It's got 12 tracks composed souly by midi just like Animusic. I like to think of it as the "Animusic video album with no video." Anyways, Wayne ended up using a good deal of Animusic 3's resources for The Sound of 12. So that has been a major set back. Not only that, but now getting up there in age Wayne has developed some health issues. But no need to fear, in a recent community update post Lytle states he's still hard at work with the completion for Animusic 3 and says that as long as he's alive Animusic 3 will come to fruition. Remember people, he's doing all the work that his team did. Give him a break. Perfection takes time

Oh my kids loved this when they were little it was the only thing I could play to keep him happy he is now 17 yrs old and nonverbal and has autism. I used to just be able to record pbs and keep reminding. I couldn't afford the DVDs back then. Are they still selling ??? And where?? My husband and I were just talking about this so I looked it up on CZcams.
Funny to see all the people whining on Kickstarter and on here. While I agree that the release dates were wholly unrealistic, people have to remember that a gigantic, colossal amount of work is being done by basically two people. We're all used to seeing an endless,almost infinite amount of names on the end credits for animated movies. Imagine if Pixar's latest release was done by TWO (2) people. How long would it take? Even if you don't want to equate an Animusic release with a Pixar movie, anyone can see that a great deal of creative and incredibly time consuming work is being done by a very small number of people. Added to this, it's been alluded to that Wayne and Dave have had some personal challenges to overcome. So, give these guys a break and have faith. Wayne and Dave live and breathe Animusic and I am absolutely certain that Animusic 3 will become a reality, and all the whiners will be starry eyed at the visual exquisiteness of yet another ground breaking achievement by the Animusic team.

+NICK MELLO They completely remodeled their workflow 3 YEARS AGO. They had a kickstarter that gave them a quarter million dollars. Where are the goods? We should have had 2-3 releases by your logic, yet we're still waiting on one that was originally said to be released in 2010.

Don't be a little miffed that, after a *successful* kickstarter that raised a quarter million dollars in 2012 he's scraping for postage to send out some of the kickstarter stuff? That he was so focused on upgrading his workflow that he totally didn't do any actual production work? That his attempt to cut down release times from 3 years to 1 resulted in no release in 10+ years? Supposedly the kickstarter was to get into the final production stages of the work. To me that means final rendering and post production... so why is it talking as long since the kickstarter finished as it did to make the first two from the beginning? I'm sorry, I'm all outta empathy at this time. No more sad stories, just progress reports please.

The day after he shot this video he got bells palsy and after a year only had 40% movement back. But no keep ranting and acting like a child because you haven't gotten what you want yet. Maybe show some sympathy for a guy who's dealing with shit since it's just him.
Laughandg0 Nah. Been sympathetic for years and years waiting on this. I'm sympathetic as far as "sorry you're not well" but this should have been done years before. It's been excuse after excuse. Maybe they should have actually gotten the work done *before* they burned up their quarter-million kickstarter and everybody left.

I am still waiting! 😢 You guys created a masterpiece and I genuinely think it’s the best piece of music/video I’ve seen in my life. I am really curious about how you guys did to pull this off. It always amazes me. The sync, the music, the characters. It’s extremely satisfying and I really hope to see Animusic 3!
When this video came out, I was in art/music class in elementary 3rd (or 2nd, I forgot lol) grade watching animusic as a topic for music class. Now that I think about it, my art/music teacher must have been keeping up with these developments as a fan and as a teacher that wanted to share more with her students.
When I was about 6, I talked to Dave. I was in total shock when I found out that I could talk to one of the men behind my favorite songs and animations.
I still have hope that Animusic 3 will come out. Whenever it may be.

I remember when I was a kid walking into Sam's Club and they had starship groove playing on one of the tv's on display. Im still amazed to this day by all the animations they put into these DVD's.

Why doesn't he make the remaining corpse of animusic studio open source so the community can maybe pick up the pieces and maybe make something out of it?
I am 13, and I grew up watching this, and Miyazaki for hours on my vhs player. I would love to see animusic 3, as the first and second one changed my entire life and affects me still today, with my earliest memories being watching animusic. To anybody still working on the project, you have made a huge impact on many peoples lives. Thank you.

Just to clarify for those who keep asking, This was funded successfully by over 3,000 backers in kickstarter, they may have it available in blueray, They basically are working on the music, the animation/art was already complete because they smartly built pre-functioning models, I imagine it's like having FL Studio that you literally grab instrument models and build a set. ..

I'm 13 and at 6 yrs old I saw Animusic and was instantly hooked. I've been waiting so long for album number 3 and still have faith in them. But, not going to lie, slowly losing my faith in them. Please show you still exist Wayne. We need you.
11 yrs ago when I first discovered Animusic being shown on the PBS channel between shows in Milwaukee, I bought everything I could get my hands on from you. I still have the black tee shirt you sold back then. You guys blew my mind away with your genius brains. Everyone in my family got a VHS tape of your 1st one for Christmas that year. I know this is old tech by now but if the guy making the tunes for Animusic is still around he should really just put out another album. He had a fan following of people that liked the grooves and the animations were just icing on top.

As it is now 2020, with the exceedingly slim chances of 3 coming out, I highly doubt it would be done this year considering the... unfortunate world circumstances. I have hope but little more 😕. I never had animusic 1 on dvd, but I remember the day I got animusic 2, I was with my grandfather at the military base in the store and we were in the electronics and movie section and I saw animusic 2 on the shelf so I asked if I could get it and boy did I not regret that decision. My grandfather has sadly passed, it has become a great memory of when I would go and visit him and he would take be shopping at the base. I’m aware of the very slim chances of animusic 3 coming out, but there’s no point in losing hope

I’ve been watching Animusic since October 2011. The three year wait was worth it!! I have a folder of my computer with all the Animusic videos and the Animusic style videos.

animusic has inspired me to be a possible musician, and i'm so proud of the community for sticking around after all this time.

I saw Animusic 1 and 2 when I was in elementary school, and I’m getting close to 30 now.
I would like to see Animusic use more music genres beyond rock and classical music.
I would recommend Animusic creators check out Rolling Sky 2 to inspire their next creations.
I wanna see a hardstyle track go off with Animusic. Maybe I should just create my own with different EDM genres today.
I feel like Anna waiting for Elsa. But less salad plates. :(

To be honest, I'm not really certain what the whole story is, but Animusic was a really fun part of my childhood and made a lasting impression. Seeing all the behind the scenes content and hearing everything Wayne and Dave had to say about it's creation was incredible. I see lots of speculations and assumptions and so on. But I just wanna say, I would still be excited to see Animusic 3. I would love to hear and see somethings about it's progress or state of life, but I'm still so happy with what we have. Thank you guys!
P.S. This was a really great kickstarter video too! Nice outline of intentions and a showcase of production tools and how they work.

They just posted on the kickstarter it will, no matter how long it takes... its just they got so jammed full of things to do, it takes time. That and their team got smaller...

Man, I loved these songs as a kid (I still do), and it kinda makes me sad that there have been like 6 years with radio silence from the devloper (the last official update being posted in 2015 I think). I still faintly hold out hope for a third installation in the series however, and if it ever got released, I'm sure it'd be awesome. I'm also glad there's people out there who love these songs too :)
This needs to have a revival. Come on tell your friends,family,strangers your randomly meet,your interviewer, your teacher, EVERYBODY NEEDS TO KNOW
