- This is a video on the XPG Spectrix S40G RGB NVMe SSD, showing you how to install the drive both in terms of hardware, installation in Windows and RGB control with the software. I also benchmarked it with Crystal Mark.
This drive was used as part of two builds I did recently, including one in the Corsair 7000D Airflow: • Corsair 7000D Airflow ...

This is an affordable drive that offers read/write speeds of upto 3500/3000MBs per second. It works with AMD and Intel but is obviously a gen 3 drive.

Thx
But i already fixed the problem
bro thank you so much for making this video
You're welcome. Hope you appreciated enough to subscribe 🦐
I have 2 slots as well, but first slot there is a cover called thermal guide. It is ok not to use thermal guide cover? Because of xpg comes with rgb.. so at least i can see the rgb light. Slot no 2 was covered by GPU.
I have this SSD but I cant get my MSI Tomahawk B550 motherboard to see it. So whatever I do with my RGB, the SSD remains in a constant rainbow effect - Is there another piece of software i need?
Thanks bro now I can change color on ssd.
Can I use this SSD’s full potential of 3000mbps on MSI B450M Pro M2 MAX motherboard?
Can you install the ssd on b550 ac motherboard?

very nice vibe you have in your voice...reminds me of Johnny English xD

Hi, I cant seem to find the link to download the RGB software for this SSD. I tried the link you provided under your pinned comment and there's nothing under the Downloads tab. Can you help me with this? Or did that software just cease to exist?
me too
Please... does it have a heatsink????
Is it compatible with MSI mystic lights software?
Can I use it on my dell vostro 3671?
Is this drive controllable with asus Arora sync
Why is there always orange colour in anything that has lighting on it for components
Led Software dont work. What can i do?
hi , i got the same nvme as you, i did some speed test and the results shows me around 1100 mb read and write , any idea why its like that?
do you still have it? is it good?
@@robyca2545 yeah, for now it's working without problems and very good
I put 2 of 1TB each of those on my daughters pc and they’re great
do you still have it? is it good?
@@robyca2545 yes still and they are great
hi! does it have dram?
I have a good deal on getting this SSD but I wish to install it on my Asus ROG Strix G513QY (Advantage edition). I can't disassemble it due to warranty, so I need to check before that this would fit, then go to a laptop service and do the upgrade. I see the backplate where the SSDs are located, is somewhat bumpier.
do you still have it? is it good?
@@robyca2545 yes, in the meantime I had it installed in my ROG Strix G15 Advantage Edition as main SSD, alongside a Samsung 980 PRO 2 TB. Read/Write 3700 Mbps while the Samsung only 3500 Mbps. This is PCIe Gen 3 Mobo, if it were Gen 4, the Samsung would have performed better. Only thing, the RGB module had to come off in order to fit in my laptop. But it's not a general rule, I also tried fitting it in a Lenovo Legion Y520 and it had enough room, so I guess it depends on the laptop make and model. Guess I didn't provoke the prawn enough for an answer :)
question, will the ADATA XPG S40G run with an Gigabyte Z390 AORUS ULTRA ATX LGA1151 Motherboard?
yes
Downloaded software buy its not working. help please!
Me too
It has any heat issues
Damn, shame corsair won't be able to run the RGB, and I need another piece of software to run RGB GRR
Hi I have same ssd I got a new motherboard (b450 tomahawk max ii)and when I put the ssd in it doesnt show up not in bios or windows before it did the rgb still works I'm not sure if it's broken or not I tried in a separate motherboard it still didnt show up anywhere
It is possible that settings are disabling the port in the bios. You might need to tweak them.
@@TheProvokedPrawn I got no clue how to fix it
Did you removed the sticker behind the SSD and installed??
No
Hi sir. I cant seem to download the rgb software despite many googling done. In the website itself, even the file size shown was 0bytes. Would you mind helping me out? Thanks ya :)
do you still have it? is it good?
@@robyca2545 yes sir. Still using it. So far no issue 👍
Ive fitted the XPG RGB SSD. But I cant get the RGB to do anything other than the default rainbow effect. Any ideas?
@cringe2win146 I can get it to change the colour options using OpenRGB, but I still can't get it to sync with the rest of the machine.
@@davidhatton2025what is the read & write speed, is this nvme only fits in PC or can fit in laptop legion too?
@@SaHiL..97 I don't think it will go in a laptop.
@@davidhatton2025 ok

Was able to get samsung 980 pro 1TB for $178 2 weeks back. Bought 2,one for PC. Amd another for PS5..

can i get a link for the RGB software used here?
do you still have it? is it good?

Can you change rgb on this
Yes. I showed it at the end
How did you download the software?
Download it from here www.xpg.com/us/xpg/610
@@TheProvokedPrawn i did but it opens it in internet explorer amd i cant do anything form there
@@TheProvokedPrawn do i need winrar to download it?
Will it fit inside a laptop
Doubtful
which is better XPG SPECTRIX S20G or XPG Spectrix S40G?
S40G is the same price as S20G, but S40G has higher write and read speeds, longer durability than S20G so S40G is the better one.
I'd be careful promoting XPG. They were one of the companies exposed for swapping out chips on their NVME SSD's after reviewers reviewed them, and consumers were getting about 50% of expected performance. Linus just did a video exposing them...
yep i think i got the bad unit, only 550 read speed its absurd
@@MrBluffer88 U sure u install the (( INTEL NVME SSD DRIVERS ))? cuz you have to manually install it and if you dont you will have insane slow speeds
@@Eric-Robson- can u elaborate where to find that and install it ? Thanks in advance
bro is talking in v8

r u drank?
Can you remove the ugly RGB sh*t and put the nvme in a laptop? What a stupid idea to even put RGB in a nvme. -.-
Buy one without RGB surely.
@@TheProvokedPrawn Thanks but Im looking for a cheap NVME and this one has good speed and is not so expensive(I want 4TB version), it would be perfect for storage for my L5P laptop. Does a version of this NVME exist, without the RGB nonesense?
@@xibeon that's fair enough. Have you tried Sabrent? They've got a lot of good drives at reasonable prices without RGB
shittiest ssd. they swap tlc with qlc. is this chinese company?
It wont show up on my asus prime b550
