- I will introduce you to the Tudor Blackbay Pepsi GMT and try 3 straps, including the factory steel bracelet, factory leather and a Crafter Blue rubber strap. The methods I use to change the straps in the video are my own, and can be applied to other watches and brands such as Omega and Rolex. I'll tell you what I think and show you how they look on the wrist and with different outfits.

You mounted the strap upside down. When you turn your wrist, the text and the tudor shield should be the right way :)
Just bought a black bay and a leather strap, thanks for the video. I really enjoy your content
I appreciate the time you took to make this informative video. I own a Black Bay GMT as well and typically prefer bracelets on my watches but options are good.
Thanks for the video. I just bought my Tudor GMT on the leather. I think it’s a good combo of light weight but strong enough to stabilize the weight of the case. I also think the reddish brown goes very well with the bezel. I am interested in a rubber strap solely for water/sweat purposes to preserve my leather, so I’ll take a look at this brand during my search.
I've just discovered your channel, and I'm glad I did. The strap changing tutorial alone is the best I've seen on YT, and will give me the confidence to give it a go myself at home! As for the strap question, it's a resounding vote for leather on this watch.
I've happily subscribed and I look forward to watching your other vids in the coming days and future content as your channel progresses.
Thanks Nigel. Much appreciated.
well that was definitely worth watching. I have a Black Bay 36 on the bracelet which I love, but i am VERY hesitant to try to change the bracelet myself. I will probably order the leather strap for it once winter approaches, but in the meantime i think I will buy some of that tape you are using. Very useful!
I use the 3-M Cling Wrap it is the same type of cling they use on some watches . It has no adhesive. However sticks to sapphire and stainless .
Great video! Thank you for sharing!
Your debut is really well done! Up there (and above) a lot of the starting-block stumblings of channels with many 10s (or 100s) of thousands following.
Top drawer stuff loving your style 👌
Great information..... Thank you
Well done mate and good luck with the channel. I have a navy leather strap from Watch Gecko which looks great on the GMT and a navy with red stripe Marine Nationale which is my favourite choice when not on the bracelet. It’s the bracelet that I return to the most though and wear 95% of the time.
Perfect , Thank you dude. All of them great 👍 but my favorite Leather 👌
Great video, thanks
Nice job, I’ve just bought a GMT on bracelet and am looking at some strap options, the pliers or tweezers can be expensive for the good makes but probably a sensible choice. Wow you’re good at putting the straps on without tape on the lugs 😮
I have years of practice and show the scars on a few pieces where I probably should have used tape. The Tudor is easy though and the spring bars are pretty compliant. Omega…..OMG!
Good video. I think I’m going to order the rubber for my GMT.
Great tips for removing and fitting
I have subscribed keep up the good work. Fingers crossed, I may not need to buy the strap 😜
I’d love to see the rubber strap with a deployment clasp. The best of both worlds as the leather strap makes the watch case seem to tower above the wrist. From the wearer’s vantage point.
Crafter blue for me I put one on my blacked out seiko but I also bought black metal work too
While I shall defer to you when it comes to identifying casual versus formal as you have the British accent and are thus infinitely classier than I with my awful New York accent I believe, the leather is the dressier strap. I have just picked this exquisite watch today on the leather strap and I’m head over heels. The AD did not have it in stock on the bracelet so I ordered that separately. This is a great video, thanks for sharing!
My pleasure. The accent is genuine, but don’t assume class comes as standard 😉. It’s a fantastic watch and I’ve worn the hell out of it recently on the bracelet. It’s great to have options and congrats on your acquisition.
Nice video. Gives me an idea for my coke 1953 Invicta.
Wondering what it would like if you were to add the Pelagus endlinks/rubber strap
Mr B good question. Maybe one of the viewers has that combination and can share their thoughts.
Welcome to the watch tube Andy. Great non-pretentious video with nice English touches. I look forward to your future ones. 👍🏼
Oh, and for me the bracelet sets the GMT off really nicely. I’m not a fan of the rubber as if I wanted a beach watch, I’d rather grab a G-Shock Casioak and know I can knock it about a bit.
Paul Davies Hi Paul, I’ve just purchased this watch with the bracelet but I’ve just received the Leather strap. I’ve bought the Burgeon tool in your link but can you please send me a link to the tool you used to remove the leather strap? Thanks
BoyCypriot bare with me and I’ll try and get a link. Apologies for the delay.
BoyCypriot I have updated the video with the link. amzn.to/2xziJNd
Andrew Kendall thank you
Only 1min in but liked and subbed because the colour of the tea was just right hahaa
Michael Ward it was my first proper attempt. Forgot about the tea. Maybe it will make a come back.
Great video, what type of spring bars you use for the Tudor, just in case one breaks, I am getting my watch Monday so very excited, and what type would you use for the Rolex GMT (2016 Batman) thank you very much and happy new year
I’ve only used the original Tudor bars on my GMT. I have a ton of cheapos, and you can tell the difference. There’s plenty of equivalent ones available or you can ask your AD to order some.....at a price.

Appreciate your opinion, I have a Barton spring bar tool , which I've used on my Mido Ocean Star GMT & my Seiko SKX009 (the seiko I learned removal of straps), so far all my replacement straps I've been using Barton Elite Silicone with quick release, I happen to like them, but my Rolex im rocking oyster bracelet & haven't change the bracelet there & don't think I will, but the Tudor i am planning too. Thanks again happy new year
What about trying the 3rd strap option from Tudor for the bb gmt?
I haven’t tried the fabric strap. It’s not for me, but I hear they are good quality.
I’m a steel bracelet guy, so that’s my choice. Most of my watches are on bracelets. Although, recently I’ve gotten in to Chevron Natos by Crown and Buckle
Friend can u tell me how to get this exact Tudor strap for my Tudor Black Bay GMT Automatic Watch appreciate if you could guide or arrange for me. Regards
Kashif from Pakistan
I’m sure if you contact Tudor directly or your nearest authorised dealer they’ll be able to help.
Great video, very helpful. I’m in the market for a leather strap for my own TUDOR GMT. How are you finding that TUDOR leather strap so far? Would you recommend it? Excellent video quality by the way, I’m a new CZcamsr (in later-life, aged 50) too. It’s quite an interesting avenue to take. Hope to see more great vids from you soon. Ash
The Chap's Guide thanks for the lovely comment. I’ve kept my GMT on leather strap duty for most of the time I’ve had it. I don’t wear it formally, so this is my dress down watch. No complaints.
Khs Mn mine was an a accessory, so put it on as I would any other with the long piece away from the 6 o’clock. Tried it the ‘Tudor way’ and didn’t like it.
good video...I have just bought the Tudor GMT on the leather strap, I have a 7 3/4 wrist and it is only just long enough to my surprise, lol, everyone on youtube wearing this variant must have small wrists
Does the bazel still turn smoothly for the rubber strap? It’s Crafter Blue right..
Yes. No restrictions.
Where did you buy the leather strap?
Bought it from my local Tudor AD, Goldsmiths in UK. I think it was around £300, but had some vouchers so only paid £120. It is a great strap and suits the watch really well. I’m a sucker for OEM straps.
I have all the tools ready but haven’t tried changing it yet..so far any scratches on the inner lugs? 😁
You just can’t avoid tiny little marks. Taping, having a steady hand and good set of tools is the only way.
@@TheEnglishWatch hahaha..ya especially when u wiggle the springbar to find the hole.. I think quick release springbar is good..
@@HL-OOI for sure. I'd probably keep the tape on when doing the other straps too. I've scratched lugs with just the spring bars when changing straps.
It would be nice if all straps were quick change.
Probably steel for me Mate, but already ordered a leather and a rubber 😅
Hi great video I’ve got the crafter blue on another watch I’ve got . I ordered it with black metal work too and it had two rubber holders so I did away with the metal bit you didn’t like 👍 ps I prefer bracelet or rubber leather is a no no fit me on that Tudor sorry . I’ve subscribed
No worries. Thought you were apologising for subscribing 🤣.
Mines been on the bracelet for a few months now. It’s grown on me.
What width polyimide tape are you using? It looks like 10mm? Great video and very helpful.
Yes, 10mm. Just wide enough for fat lugs. Thanks for watching.
Andy, thanks very much. I'll get some.
Which tweezers are they?
If you follow the link to my web site, there are links to the tools I use.

@@TheEnglishWatch thanks. Hoping I can use the tweezers like you did haha
The leather is my favorite. I love it. Looks so elegant and sporty at the same time. The metal bracelet looks terrible in my opinion. Feels like something a new rich will wear. I know it sounds absurd, but that is the vibe I get form that. I will buy this watch with the leather strap, then maybe get an after market metal bracelet.
The pointed ends of the straps are too large, especially the rubber one. The manufacturers should offer different sizes/mix/match. With a 7 inch wrist with 50mm lugs, the correct size should be no greater than 115 (112 ideal), 75-80, as an example, 115/75. No one but Michael Knapp does this (for leather). I am finding all my diver rubber strap pointed ends are too long. And ideally, the buckle end should be placed at the middle of the underside of the wrist. With the proper sizing, one should not need a 2nd keeper.
