I had a P0306 (cylinder 6 misfire) that was driving me crazy! Just watched your video about checking for bent pins in the spider injector plug. Well guess what? I had one bent pin on the number 6 cylinder and I GENTLY straightened it with needle nosed pliers. Runs SMOOTH now. No more misfire. Thank you for sharing this information. Saved me a bunch of headaches not to mention $$$.

I replaced the spider injectors on my 98 Silverado 5.7 about 7 yrs ago. After I put it back together, I had the same problem. As I was taking it back apart, I also noticed one of those prongs were bent. After straightening it out and putting everything back together, it fixed it... I guess initially, I got in a hurry and bent it when I first put it back together. Learned to slow down.

May check to be sure the pin on the spider injector isnt bent if not, make sure you are getting spark to that cylinder from the plugs. Make sure plug wires has a good solid connection. Could also check to be sure that injector on that cylinder is spraying good an not clogging up. Check for corrosion to the harness to the spider. Last but least compression Check on that cylinder or could do that first.. If everything checks out to be ok may have something going on with the computer. Hope this helps

Then po300 code MULTIPLE misfire not random don't know if there's a difference between the two. Changed the cap unhooked battery and light stayed off for about 150 miles. On then off and back on again. @@raybanz6686 sounds like cats. If you got a temperature reading gun. You can let the vehicle warm up to operating temp. Take a reading before the cat and after. If the readings are different possible cats are clogged. If they reading the same may just be 02 sensors acting up. Another way you can drill a small hole in the cats an see if there is any restriction from the front of them to the back. So basically you would need to drill a hole in the exhaust in front of the cat check air flow. Then plug that hole an drill one to the rear exhaust behind the cat an check that air flow if the airflow is restricted. Then you have clogged cats. Couple ways to test it.

Which will need to be rebuilt.. sometimes rebuilding one is cheaper than buying new.. if it's not ring issues a simple head gasket issue can cause a cylinder to misfire. It can create just enough air leak. To find our you'll need a compression test done. If it jumps let's say up to 210 psi let it sit for a little bit give it about 1hr come back see if the compression has changed if it has dropped a significant amount say down to 200 psi you have a leak somewhere in that cylinder either rings valve seals etc... you then can also perform a leak down test with a fog machine and what it will do is let you see of you have any Intake leaks it may also pick up head gasket leaks too if any.

@@roostercogburn2365 like I try to tell ppl including my own friends. Chevy did wonders for their engines. They put more thought process for hp and reliability. But they skipped out on everything else. Now, if they would have put that same thought process in hp and reliability as they would of the entire truck or car they would of probably beat Ford in the long shot... thing with Ford they built their vehicles to work hard they put the thought process in everything in certain vehicles. Not going to say all because they have some that are trash like the f150 and their 5.4 triton engines.. but as far as it being used as a work truck like when they put the thought in the Ranger they topped it...

They made those rangers indestructible damn near. I still have mine and still looks just as good. The other thing chevy cheaped out on is their paint. If you compare a chevy to a box car. It's like putting in a 454 in a box and driving it. Lol although ford did also build performance as well they also didn't skip leg day 🤣

Maybe all talk but I'm explaining a misfire problem that can be fixed if somebody is changing out a spider injector on these engines. Thanks for watching.

@Ed Al thank you for watching, I'll keep explaining for those that wants to learn something. You keep watching those videos that don't talk at all and don't explain nothing. Have a nice day.

@Ed Al if you paid attention I would have made a video on how to do the spider injector on this truck. But I was in a rush to get it done. So I made a video explaining the issue and how I fixed it. To help those that may run into the same issue. Take me with a grain of salt if you already know how to fix something no need to watch these videos. If not shut the hell up and pay attention you might learn something

Sounds like “saved by grace through faith” could reciprocate that grace given you explained you wish you had done a video on changing out the spider injectors. Thanks for sharing what you found.
