I will visit my father for Christmas and make him a full jar of this as he is a big fan of sweet chili sauce. Thanks a lot Pai!
I love making my own sauces & I’ve made this several times and it turned out great . I’ve made large quantities and given away to family & friends as gifts and I get more requests every time. Finally, decided to share the video with them so that they can try it out as well 😂.
I used corn starch instead as it’s readily available in my grocery store. Thank you once again & I never buy it anymore and besides, the sugar content in this is way less than that readily available in the grocery store.
I'm so excited that you did this!! I love this sauce, but not always happy with the consistency or the heat level -making my own just makes sense after seeing how easy it is. Thank you!!
Have stopped buying the store bought version and so many batches since first watching this. Thank you Pai!! 😘
I made this sauce today and it tastes AMAZING! Thank you so much for the recipe :)
Pailin you're the best, not only making no-compromise real thai cuisine, but also in an intelligent and amazingly well explained way. Wish there was more people like you on youtube, thank you!
Just tried it today. Amazed at how simple and delicious it is! I always hesitated buying it because of the additives, but now I can make it at home. Thank you!
Home made is always best.
Of course
Thank you, Pailin.
The side-by-side comparison is GENIUS!
This recipe is gold! Thank you so much for it!
This comes SO ver perfect on time you won't believe it! I just came home from shopping with some spring rolls in my bag. Wanted to bought a sweet chili sauce but didn't cause they had non appetizing one in the grocery's. Now that I know how to make it, I'm going to prepare one by myself tomorrow.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!
I LOVE your site Ms. Pailin! I made some Thai "inspired" chili sauce from an improvised recipe back in the summer using coconut sugar, but only because I have to avoid white sugar. It lasts forever, and I used it for my stir fries and fried fish dishes. I'm going to try your recipe next. Thank you for the idea of giving it as a Christmas gift. People love these homemade gifts. Many thanks for your great recipes!
YASSS thank you so much! I've been waiting a long time for this recipe

Wow this sauce is amazing 🤩. Just made it and the reason you convinced me to make it was because that side to side comparison you did, absolutely on point! Your explanation was clear and was not hard to make at all, since we like spicy, I can control how spicy 🌶 we want too. You’ve got a new subscriber 😉
As simple as it is essential. Thanks for the recipe. Home-made always beats out of a jar.
Your recipes are always the best! Keep them coming!

Wow! not only was this so informative but you managed to put a smile on my face with your presentation. 10 out of 10 from the UK. Now I have subscribed to your channel I'm looking forward to improving my Asian cooking. 👍
Just made a batch, It is wonderful!! Thank You!
Yum! So easy and looks better than the bottle stuff too!
Thanks for the recipe pai. You explain so well
JUST PERFECTION!!
I used jalapenos and ended up diluting the sauce. Most of the jalapenos I grew this year were pretty mild, but I lucked out and made the chili sauce way too spicy. All I did to dilute it was simmer your ratios of water, sugar, and vinegar together for the five minutes, then I added a slurry. After that, I simply mixed it into my original batch. Your recipe is so hearty, my end result was still more thick and flavorful than store bought.
I added fish sauce on purpose and ginger by accident, both in small amounts, and it turned out amazing! Both are flavors that muck about in the background and it really worked well with all the sharpness from the other ingredients.
I'll do that too! Thanks for sharing.
Going to make this today. Thanks for the sauce list. It was easy to search gor this.
This is an amazing thing it even tastes better them when u buy it

Totally gonna make this!! Thank you.
MY GOD THAT IS NOT JUST A SAUCE. THAT IS THE WORK OF ART.
I have only dreamed about recreating aroy-d sweet chilli. It is the only brand that makes it p-e-r-f-e-ctly, others can't compare in the slightest. Still, your home version - gosh, it turned out delicious!!!! Like aroy-d but without that starch layer.
Sincerely grateful!)

Wow. We like Thai chili sauce here at our house but have only had store bought. I was at the Asian Market the other day and they had a fresh box of red Thai chilis and this recipe came to mind so I bought a few. We followed the directions but we used about 1 1/2 chili's (these things are supposed to be "HOT"! Any way, it didn't take long at all to make but this came out perfect! So wonderful. Not too hot but it slowly warms the face just right and the flavor is out of this world as compared to the store bought.
Thanks Pailin for the awesome recipe!
Somehow I felt like the Allrecipes recipe I was looking at that called for Ketchup wasn't quite right. Thank you for showing such a straightforward way to make this!
Sawaddekhub!! I'm a fond lover of Thai/Siam food as my ancestors were from Southern Thai province. Khobkhunkhub for the great recipes!!!!

oh my God, this is so simple
I got to taste sweet chilli sauce when I spent 1½ years in Brisbane for my twinning degree program. Of course it was a commercially made one, but the taste was fantastic! It's a really great dipping sauce with potato wedges, tater tots and even Turkish kebabs!
I want to make different colored chili sauces now.... like green with green chilies!
Thanks s lot Pai. Enjoying the home made chilly sweet sauce
Never goes bad indeed! I've got a jar of spicy chili that I made over a year ago and I use it bit by bit. Smell it ever time before using. Over a year later and it's still good :D
I have a bottle of sauce, in my frig... I'm glad you posted this. Yours looks fantastic :-)

I was making your fried pork spring rolls and didn't have sauce! I also didn't have any fresh peppers at all, so I subbed about 2 tablespoons(I didn't measure) dried chili flakes. I also cooked it for a little longer. It's super spicy, but it worked in a pinch!
