    That Standard Kart under the stairs seems like it takes up a bit too much floor space, so I’d say that having it under the stairs works well. Perhaps you can add decals to make the underside look like a car garage (like the background in-game of the menus in MK8). The whole room is coming together!

    Making under the stairs a little arcade-themed space would be awesome! My vote is for that

  • @Wispmage
    @Wispmage Před 2 lety +16

    I cannot wait until you finish everything. It's going to really round out the space. I'm also definitely in favor of the back-to-back fridge / arcade combo under the stairs. Best of luck with all the finishing touches!

  • @Weelum2001
    @Weelum2001 Před 2 lety +1

    I think the arcade under the stairs idea was the best one imo. While I agree that it could be used to store more space, I really like the walkway. I think its a cute little addition that brings the whole room together. And adding the arcade would make it double as its own space to play more games.

    Hey man I absolutely love your videos! You've inspired me to start collecting Nintendo games and consoles! It's so much fun. Your collection is truly unbelievable. I love the idea of putting a mini arcade under the stairs! Also, I personally would move the poker table to another room of the house cuz it just takes up too much space and doesn't fit the theme of the basement. Totally up to you though! Keep up the great work!

    I would put some kind of brick looking panel under the stairs to mimic a garage for the kart. With shelves on the opposite wall and an arcade facing the new addition. So that you can get behind the arcade to access shelves on the walls and the kart in it's own garage. I think the fridge is in a good place.

    I LOVE the new way of displaying the consoles that you came up with!!!!! I also really like where the fridge placement is, it’s very efficient!! The only thing I disagree with is the poker table in the center of the room, I feel like it makes the room look super crowded, but having it in the expanded room I think would look super cool!!!

  • @thomasstodghilliv
    @thomasstodghilliv Před 2 lety +3

    My idea for the fridge is to move it back under the stairs and find an arcade machine to put on the other side. I don't love the idea of blocking a door with the fridge, even though you have it on wheels.

    I like the idea of the kart under the stairs and the fridge in front of the cold cellar/room. I would maybe suggest some permanent, smaller wheels on the fridge though if you were to keep it there. Believe it or not, with the fridge there, it sort of seems to make that area look bigger than it really is.

    the really small media shelves from Ikea are called Gnedby and they left production early last year so at this point you pretty much have to go through ebay to get them or get a different shelf. Billies are still around (though they seem to have issues keeping them in stock) and still have the smaller ones, they are just about 2x the width of the Gnedby, I'm quite sad Gnedby is gone.

    Behind the stairs make a bookshelf that perfectly fits into the space, you can even put the bookshelf on hinges so it opens up to reveal a secret video game area 👀

  • @keylove5917
    @keylove5917 Před 2 lety +1

    Some ideas/suggestions:
    1. I like "option 3" and using under the stairs as a mini arcade! You can still walk through, and perhaps you could use the mounted shelves to hold retro game paraphernalia (pre-NES).
    2. I love the idea of making the new space behind it a handheld room and keeping the Pokéball table there with some loose handheld systems that you can pick up and enjoy! I also liked the notion of moving the Pokémon collection over there.
    3. I think the poker/Deku Tree table actually works fairly well where it is, mostly because it thematically complements the Zelda wall right behind it!
    4. I think the idea of having a secret My Nintendo nook in the closet is great, especially if you add some beanbag chairs! What I would do, though, is perhaps consider moving the secret door/Zelda sound effect over to there. I know that might not be possible, but it just seems kind of anticlimactic in front of the furnace room since only you will actually use it. It's probably your only moving shelf, though, so maybe make another one or install a traditional door? Just a thought...

    • @NintendoCollecting
      @NintendoCollecting  Před 2 lety +1

      100% agree with the secret door to the furnace room being anticlimactic. I wonder if I can use it on the bathroom

  • @GerardMenvussa
    @GerardMenvussa Před 2 lety +2

    For the beam on the ceiling, you could try to make stickers with another pattern rather than Mario bricks? Like early Zelda or Pokémon sprites? I could see gen 1 Pokémon world sprites fitting really well here.
    Not too sure about the Great Deku tree table. Sounds like there won't be much leg room left.

  • @stefflynn7857
    @stefflynn7857 Před 2 lety

    Your space is coming out great! I like a bit of cohesiveness, so I'd suggest to move the pokewall behind the two red chairs, you can do the billy cases to the right as your handheld section, but instead of a billy bookcase to the left put the fridge there so its reachable and it's not blocking any entryways. Leave the cart under the stairs and use the other side for more shelving. Put your nintendo figures where your pokewall is now (or somewhere else) so you can put the arcade in that closet and have LEDs to really give that arcade vibe. I would remove your current wii shelf and leave the wall empty to make room for the game chairs (if you want to keep the table there). Also since you don't know how quickly you'll get a bar table the deku table provides more seating (comfortable ones too). Those are my thoughts but hopefully some of our ideas help you out. Good luck!

    I like the idea of the handheld room being set up mostly like you have it now and add the pokewall and the rest of the shelving. I think I’d do away with the secret door and sink your refrigerator into that space. Then you could roll your refrigerator out if you need to access the space. I like the shelving idea for under the stairs and that seems like a good spot for the kart. It’s all coming along very nicely though. Nice work
