    you about a significant over reviving issue and approve and warranty it to sell it but never warranty it on the future ?

    If your buying a CPO car would you still recommend a pre purchase inspection?

    • @Pcarwhisperer
      @Pcarwhisperer  Před rokem

      You certainly can but I don't think it is necessary if you trust the dealer all should be good. I would ask to see the CPO checklist and maybe double check the brake and tire measurements other than that you'll be good 👍🏼

    Just got a CPO Porsche. I'm a little disappointed with the fact that I have to pay diagnostic fee unlike the new vehicle warranty. Is that the standard or just my dealer?

    • @Pcarwhisperer
      @Pcarwhisperer  Před 2 lety

      Congrats on the new Porsche Paul! What model did you get? That is a great question it may depend on what it is but in the past at the Porsche dealer's I have worked at this was not the case. If the dealer believes it could be something that is outside influence and not covered by CPO they may due this as the technician would still need to be compensated for their time to try and diagnose the issue. What is the issue? 🤔

    I recently bought a 2018 panamera ehybrid from a 3rd party dealer. According to the car fax, the vehicle was traded in and certified at a Porsche dealer before being sold to the third party dealer in another state about a month later. They did some services and replaced the tires at that time. It was sold to me as-is no warranty about a month ago. Is it still possible to certify the car if I took it in to a dealer for some cost as an option for an extended warranty? Or would you suggest purchasing a third party extended warranty instead? Thanks.

    • @Pcarwhisperer
      @Pcarwhisperer  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Congrats on the new Panamera! Great question! Please send me an email when you get a chance with your VIN number at pcarwhisperer@gmail.com Some dealers may certify the car for you but typically that doesn't work because they then need to purchase the car from you fix whatever is necessary to make it CPO and incur a charge then push it over to you. Porsche has a great extended warranty options as well. I would go that route. Look forward to your email!

    If i buy a 2022 CPO would that mean I have the factory warranty and once that’s done the CPO kicks in?

    • @Pcarwhisperer
      @Pcarwhisperer  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes that correct! Once the car reaches 4 years or 50k miles whichever comes first the the original factory warranty will be done and CPO will take over. For example if the car were to have gone 50k miles by year 2 of the warranty the CPO would then kick in for a remaining 2 years/unlimited miles.

    I bought a CPO 911, and the inspection showed the rear brakes at "50%." I'm a little suspicious that they fudged the measure - what's the chance they were exactly 50%, and the front brakes were replace for CPO - should I push the issue with the selling dealer? Or Porsche?

  • @sanzserif
    @sanzserif Před 2 lety +1

    Do you know if CPO checklist includes over revs? I heard that to qualify as a CPO, there can be no over revs in a certain range but different sales people have told me different things.

    • @Pcarwhisperer
      @Pcarwhisperer  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello! Great question... Over revs are not specifically listed on the inspection sheet but are part of something called a VAL or vehicle analysis log that is essentially a full scan of the entire car for faults. In this log over revs will be listed under "Number of Ignitions" if there are any 👍🏼 Range 1-3 are authorized to be certified. Anything above range 4 needs authorization from Porsche and further diagnosis! Typically if range 4 or above dealers do bother certifying the car! Hope this helps!

    do you need to buy a Porsche from a Porsche dealer in order for it to be certified? I know the answer is usually “yes” because of the service constraint. But there’s one that I’m looking at on the lot at a Mercedes’ arm of one of those mega-dealers, so this particular car has always been serviced by Porsche. Is it still ineligible to be a CPO Porsche? Still under the original warranty, and I’m suspicious of the Mercedes’ salesperson who states that it’s ineligible, “but you can buy a Zurich warranty from me”

    • @Pcarwhisperer
      @Pcarwhisperer  Před 2 lety

      Great question! It is possible a CPO could still be added to the car but would need to be completed at a Porsche dealer along with all service items required for it to pass certification. The car could have what we call preexisting CPO where it was sold back to a Porsche dealer at some point they certified it. The new owner then ended up selling it to a non-Porsche store it would still carry the warranty over. In terms of the car you are looking at if it does not have this pre-existing CPO warranty previously completed then adding a CPO warranty is not possible. There may be a dealer that may be willing to help with adding one at your expense but typically are not willing to do it because it takes alot of time and paperwork 😕

    • @arnamak1909
      @arnamak1909 Před 2 lety

      @@Pcarwhisperer Thanks for the response! that's interesting to me, because in your example if it were sold to a non-Porsche dealer, it likely would have undergone a non-Porsche service, but that's pretty consumer-friendly that they allow it to carry over. In my case, unfortunately the car was purchased new and then traded in to a Mercedes dealership. All of its maintenance has been performed, and it is up to date with all of its services--but, indeed, it was never purchased by Porsche from the original owner, they simply performed the services on it while on the lot at the MB dealership. I can still ask, since they would have the vehicle's entire history. Would the correct person to ask be a sales associate at the dealership?

    • @Pcarwhisperer

      Pcarwhisperer is the battery covered if it’s causing issues like auto start stop bro working?

    • @Pcarwhisperer
      @Pcarwhisperer  Před 3 lety +1

      @@nandusi from my experience it unfortunately would not be covered! For the auto/start to work there is a list of pre-conditions the car has to go through in order for it to initiate turning off when coming to a stop if it is related to the battery being sufficient they most likely would not cover it unless under original 4 year/50k mile warranty! 9/10 it is related to lack of battery health! You may be able to get what is called "goodwill" on the battery (Porsche takes care of part of or all of the cost to replace). I would save the goodwill just in case something more catastrophic were to happen to the car!
