  • Hey guys my name is Ben and welcome back to another video. Today I am back for episode 2, of the cheap modifications series. I've decided to give these budget coilovers, from Stance + a go. Fingers crossed they exceed my expectations and prove my point, that you don't have to spend big money on modifications to get great results.

I'm genuinely curious to find out your thoughts on these £300 coilovers. I can't help but think that it'll be a 'buy cheap, buy twice' verdict. The budget coilovers can make your car sit lower + lower the centre of gravity, but I reckon invest a bit more into the more established brands and they would offer you adjustment on ride height, springrate/dampening and offer the same level of ride quality, if not better. And also rustproof too.

Hi. Great vid. Very helpful. I have bought the same kit for my new to me z4. I have had to buy the new top mounts but can you tell me if you had to put any rubber pads or anything between the top mount itself and the coilovers ?? As you can tell I’m new to this. Thanks in advance.

Hey man, you can remove the adjustable seat and put it on the top of the spring (the adjustable spring seat may even replace the oem rubber one dependant on the kit). Also, the top of the rear shock is very easy to get to and not a bog job at all. One other thing, if you unbolt the arm that the rear spring is sat on (from where it connects at the hub) you can just insert the spring

@Ben Rayne Hey Man, I have the Bilstein B16 Adjustables on my Coupe 3.0si and I have the same story with the rear spring assembly. I have seen the spring perch be fitted to the top on the Z4M variant of the B16s but on the 3.0si the manual calls for it to be fitted on the underside and even gets bolted to the swing arm with a thru bolt, washer and nut....

First off I enjoy your content. You're informative and entertaining at the same time. Just one question. Why a coup instead of the hardtop or soft-top convertible when it comes to the Z4? I'm just curious as all. What drives me crazy in my Z4 is that every damn time I need to go up or down a driveway (Or anything else like the incline or decline) the damn front spoiler hit's the ground. The next sports car I buy will have that manual height adjustment so I never have that issue again. :(
