- Hey guys my name is Ben and welcome back to another video. Today I am back for episode 2, of the cheap modifications series. I've decided to give these budget coilovers, from Stance + a go. Fingers crossed they exceed my expectations and prove my point, that you don't have to spend big money on modifications to get great results.

Nice work, can't wait to see the next one!
Fair play for doing this always wanted to see honest review on them 👍
Looks good👍 My drop head is my daily and it'll interesting to hear you review after a few miles.
I'm genuinely curious to find out your thoughts on these £300 coilovers. I can't help but think that it'll be a 'buy cheap, buy twice' verdict. The budget coilovers can make your car sit lower + lower the centre of gravity, but I reckon invest a bit more into the more established brands and they would offer you adjustment on ride height, springrate/dampening and offer the same level of ride quality, if not better. And also rustproof too.
Hi. Great vid. Very helpful. I have bought the same kit for my new to me z4. I have had to buy the new top mounts but can you tell me if you had to put any rubber pads or anything between the top mount itself and the coilovers ?? As you can tell I’m new to this. Thanks in advance.
Hey man, you can remove the adjustable seat and put it on the top of the spring (the adjustable spring seat may even replace the oem rubber one dependant on the kit). Also, the top of the rear shock is very easy to get to and not a bog job at all. One other thing, if you unbolt the arm that the rear spring is sat on (from where it connects at the hub) you can just insert the spring
hi
yes the adjusting ring should not be at the bottom but top position on the rear spring i have done that on mine but i have bc coil overs so maybe different
could you tell me how did you install strut mount on front coil overs ? any video to show that ?
I am keenly awaiting your review of the product as I can do with an update in my Z4
How does this compare to OEM Z4 (e85) with a sport package suspension?
Love the video and review! I've just ordered a set for my Z4 based on your thoughts! Do they come with top mounts? Website says no, but yours look like they do? Thanks!
They don't. I bought mine from eurocarparts. Link in the description
I've got these on my 03 cabriolet, super comfy and handles nice! Think you just need to bed them in mate :)
@Ben Rayne Hey Man, I have the Bilstein B16 Adjustables on my Coupe 3.0si and I have the same story with the rear spring assembly. I have seen the spring perch be fitted to the top on the Z4M variant of the B16s but on the 3.0si the manual calls for it to be fitted on the underside and even gets bolted to the swing arm with a thru bolt, washer and nut....
Once covid is over a Z4 meet is in order 👍
Definitely 👍
We’re the brackets screws In the stock coilovers welded in?????????????
I've had those exact coilovers on a Scirocco for 4 months, so far so good
Hi, you’ve know had these on for 6 months. How are things going?
@@beatman1160 For driving into cities awful, for on A roads great fun
If ever you tire of this setup, try the Bilstein B6 or B12, transformed the ride on mine (with non RFT)
your zed 4, you think B6 is worth money for the suspension
First off I enjoy your content. You're informative and entertaining at the same time. Just one question. Why a coup instead of the hardtop or soft-top convertible when it comes to the Z4? I'm just curious as all. What drives me crazy in my Z4 is that every damn time I need to go up or down a driveway (Or anything else like the incline or decline) the damn front spoiler hit's the ground. The next sports car I buy will have that manual height adjustment so I never have that issue again. :(
I've had 3 roadsters in the past. Was time for a coupe 😊
HI! Did you put in the rear shocks as well or did stance not give any?
Yea rear shocks and they lasted 6 months 😩
Fair play for you doing the work yourself, well done. The suspension on the Z4 seems nice and simple to work on from seeing this and a few others. Good to know for when I buy my Z4 soon.
Hi Ben! Nice car! Recently I've buy an E86 too... I have a question... You have monting front aftermarket light, is correct? So, can you tell me how did you connect the angel eyes?
I'm sorry for my terrible english...🙈
They were on the car when I bought it. Wasn't installed properly either haha
@@be1441 🙄🙄🙄🙄👍
Anyway this car is amazing!🤩🤩🤩👍
Great video. What are the wheels you have on ?
BMW CS style wheels from CM Wheels
Fitted budget coilovers to a previous car and they weren’t great. Reading reviews online you’re far better off paying a little extra if you care about ride quality. Interested to see you opinions on these tho
Hi Ben, have you had any issues with these coil overs and do you still have the Z4? Are they good value for money?
I sold the car but not long after the rear shocks gave up. Stance + refused to replace them under warranty for the new owner
Sorry unrelated but where did you get your headlights from? Halogen or Xenon?
Not sure. They were on the car when I bought it
@@be1441 No worries thanks for the response regardless!
Might be just me but it doesn't really look much different?
Could have at least cleaned inside the arches 🤢 and that ramp is the dog bollocks I think we all need one of those 😂
Thats what I have you for 😘
