In my opinion, turf shoes are just as good as AG when playing in artificial grass. It's when it rains or the field is wet when you should change to AG... Those Jomas are nice!
I agree lol. I tried turf shoes but it was wet so I didn’t get as much grip but when it’s dry almost similar
It depends.
- If it's a worn out AG pitch with mashed down 'grass' but still has plenty of rubber fill poured into it, the loose pellets will make you slip in TF boots.
- If the field is wet, you will probably slip on AG with TF boots.
- Not all TF boots are created equal with regard to traction. Some grip better than others.
one of the main difference where tf shoes are concerned vs sg fg ag and mg options is the presence of a normal midsole. so if the surface you are playing on is harder and you find your joints giving you problems from all the pounding, you really ought to seriously consider tf shoes for the additional cushioning they provide. even ag boots have studs on hard soleplates directly mounted without midsoles.
Dude I love your videos because you explain a lot of things that other soccer channels wouldn’t. Also you are great at explaining things. Greeting from Mexico
I appreciate you man!
great video. answering my concern regarding using turf or ag for ag field since my fg boots tend to grip to much in ag field
I have always worn turfs on AG fields
Do you think AG are needed for more sole grip on the ball? I find the damp AG services makes it hard to control the ball.
In terms of functional aspects such as traction, responsiveness, and kick, fg/ag definitely should be better than TF. However, the damage to the joint is the opposite. I know some people, especially the relatively younger, may not need it or think that TF is useless. Higher traction means higher resistance and stress to the joint, which leads to an increase in the risk of injury.
I personally ag or mg from puma on ag pitch. Those are pretty good options. Also, bringing TF together as well in case of the body condition or need for recovery.
Great video
Would be awesome for you to review the MG soleplate on different football boots and pitches.
The Puma MG soleplate is great, but unfortunately they don’t sell it very often
im wearing TF on 4g pitch, I got less grip but also lower chance to fuck up my knee
It works fine unless rainy conidition
I live in Fort Lauderdale but the leagues I join are all in Miami , and to my knowledge we are not allowed to wear cleats on AG….
I’m assuming conical studs would be out of the question as well , im not sure I’ve never asked , didn’t even know about “AG” shoes.
I have some Nike premier 3 turf shoes that I bought for indoor because I was playing like a month ago but the season ended. I have winter season starting December 18th it rains a lot here you think those will be okay to use on turf? Even when wet?
No. When its wet you wont have good grip on ag with turf boots
my artificial grass field doesn’t have any rubber but it has a decent length of grass. Should I use ag or turf shoes
Turf safer
My favorite turf shoes on the market are the Vapor 15 Pro TF and Tiempo 10 Pro TF. Both excellent, neither will break the bank either
Any idea what could suits me? I do have a wide feet😢
@@abdullahkh8720 try Mizuno shoes man
I have FG and Turf shoes. Which would be the better option for AG?
Cause I’m not buying another boot for a summer league 😅
Turf shoes are a safe option. I would just recommend testing them out beforehand to make sure you’re not slipping 👍🏼
I know a lot of people that wear Turf shoes on artificial grass. I don’t have any since I already have AG boots and where I live you don’t really see that old school turf like the kind they used to use in the NFL in the 80s. I will say though that in the absence of AG boots, I would take Turf shoes over FG boots especially if the artificial grass is old and worn down.
Agreed!
Bro, where do you live? Nice field and great video btw .
USA 🇺🇸 ⚽️
You can always do while the pitch is completely dry; otherwise you'll know the faces of ants everytime you do a sprint lol.
Hi 👋 ,i want to ask you a question can i wear fg boots on ag pitch
I wear FG boots on AG if the studs are rounded, this helps keep you safer on the pitch!
Thank you man ❤️
Yes but be careful, if your cleats are bladed studs i would avoid sharp cuts and turns as you can tear your ligaments in your ankles and knees. Though if the studs are short and conical go for it.
@@Luaone luckily , my cleats have short studs and from the front they are round and very short
Depends what kind of FG boots you’re using and the condition of the artificial grass. If the FG boots have short conical studs like Copa Mundial, Lotto Stadio, Adler, Pantofola d’Oro, Mizuno Morelia, etc. then there might not be too much of a problem. If you’re playing on overused mashed down artificial grass then I would definitely avoid something like a Vapor/Superfly Elite/Pro FG.
Why are a lot of footballers wearing the Nike Mercurial Vapor 15 Elite. I can’t watch a game without seeing half the 11 on both sides wearing these.
Really popular boots for sure
🔥
Can you please specifically review the pumas you showed in this video. And can you please talk about the protection of the boots
coming soon
what about FG on AG/TURF?
Not recommend unless the studs are conical in shape
Not allowed to wear these on a lot of AG in England.
Interesting, do they require you to wear something with longer studs (FG/AG boots)?
@@upper90football_ not true. Ive played alot in the UK and there are no restrictions at all. See alot of tf and fg on 4g pitches.
I’ve actually heard the opposite about certain artificial pitches in Mexico where they’re not allowed to wear FG or even AG and only allowed to wear Turf/TF shoes.
not true. Just not true at all.
@@npc2k of course not true.
Old guy like me . Yeeees 😂
It’s always the old guys wearing TF boots 😂, I get it though; luckily I have AG boots but if didn’t I’d probably wear TF over FG.
Hey could you wear Astro Turf boots on concrete?
Nah just wear flat sole shoes or indoor shoes
You actually can we used to do this as kids in England going to primary school. Astros are fine on concrete but the sole will wear down quick
Yes i did, its okay. But abit Slippery haha
If we talking like carpet turf yes, its pretty much leveled like home carpet or floor if we being honest.
If its actually elevated above the floor and shares characteristics of real grass such as the thickness, and clingy on the studs or bottom of footwear then go for AG
You cant go wrong in AG for both tbh but why not have a pair of both AG and turf shoes lol
