Chad's Fab family is at it again and Korbin on the pressure washer was the best! Gonzo is really looking good moving forward on the cleaning and rocker arm repairs that Chad's doing. The new seat is going to be a good match for the inside of the truck and comfortable at that! Love it when Stacy drove Gonzo around and into the garage. I was looking for a burnout, but she's saving that for Chad! All the family and friends coming together to get things done. Awesome video!

Gonzo has never been so clean. My friend showed me his secret for removing old paint. I helped him one day, and I was amazed. He starts with a 4 inch paint brush and a gallon can of DOT 3 brake fluid. He would coat everything with the brake fluid and let it sit for a couple of days. Then he would fire up his steam cleaner (not a pressure washer), and literally wash sheets of paint off of the surface. I was amazed the first time I saw him do that.

That's cool you use a copper spoon I made mine out off copper pipes had a piece of 3/4 L hard pipe i cut it in half it was 27 inches one piece I cut a seam down one side and flattened it out and cut a heavy 1/8 over half the pipe I used the smaller half and started flattening the pipe out and when I had it close to flat I stuck the smaller piece I cut from the other half inside the pipe and finished flattening it out I have used mine for over 35 years. Saved me a many blown hole in thin sheet metal.

Showing how to have family fun on a restoration project. That steam cleaner packs quite a punch, removing some of Gonzo's paint layers (white, blue, red, black, green/teal). What is the interior color (gold with hues of brown/red/black)? Looks good. Waiting to see some of the accessories as you install them. Liked returing Gonzo to his previous lustre as much as is reasonably possible. An easy driving date/church vehicle.

When I was shop boss at hodges trucking , the satellite yard in wilburton Oklahoma, unit drilling mechanic sometimes wanted to use a bay to stay dry , so I'd get a barrel of. Rig soap , open the soap up low water pressure, let set , come back and take it plum to bare metal if it didn't have a good primer . Sure made my jobs faster and easier. The main bosses in Oklahoma city, couldn't understand how quickly, I'd have a truck prepped and ready for painting. .

Just before christmas I sold my little Transit van.
It was in pretty much mint condition, except for the cargo compartment, for obvious reasons.
Like you, I took the pressure washer to clean it out.
It came back up looking great..Except, I had pools of water in every nook & crannie under the drivers cab.
Electrical connectors under the seats steeping in puddles.
Coming out in the mornings to find condensation on everything, misted up windows.
There was me thinking the water would just run to the lowest point, drain away.
    Some chance!
Man, what a drag, having to then look for all of those puddles, towelling them off, to get back to normality.
The Great Gonzo looks like its going to be some ride with your TLC.

Hey Chad, have you ever seen a wet sand blaster? Worked great on cement mixers! I built a trailer and blasted it before painting it and it worked great. Just need to do it on a sunny day so it dries fast. A quick low pressure wash and dry and it's ready for primer. No dust.
You could make a copper spoon from a copper pipe. Works good! Never used a bought one!

I hate watching channels like vice grip when he uses license plates to fix rusty floors, Though I do enjoy most of Derricks content to, He just cuts corners I wouldn't 😢, I like my cars looking classic but no chassis rust or holey floors for me, lovely clean interior nice modern motors modern brakes that work and fuel injection and electronic ignition, I'm old I just want to jump in a drive the bugger not be stuck on the verge kicking tires.

Your philosophy advice. Here's mine. Clean white brightens attitudes and makes EVERYTHING more visible (you notice when you get older eyes). A contractor friend suggested Zinsser123 primer and I have bought gallons and gallons of it for shops (2). It is the toughest best paint. It even waterproofs. Very white. Good to teach your kids how to make it all better and keep it nice. Your garage doors are stinkers. Empty spaces in rocker panels: I've always wanted to fill them with foam to stop water and air from making rust. ? "Obstacles to overcome," sonny.

What a beautiful truck from a beautiful family to another and all over too the beautiful youtube family.
What a great way to share,
And REMEMBER: " it's better to share than to squander." ❤
