With the operative word being "a" - so _one_ crash. No vehicle is designed to protect the occupant(s) as it bounces down a hillside impacting the ground several times, i.e. multiple crashes. Also there is a real risk that one of the bounces, perhaps the last one, could be the vehicle slamming into the ground upside down, which would likely flatten the roof, because vehicles are not designed to fall 50-100 meters or more and then slam into the ground on their roof. Jumping out of a vehicle after it has "gone over the edge" might be a bad idea, by it is not correct to say that a vehicle falling down a steep hillside is "designed to help you survive" (from that sort of accident).

Note to self: Don't tow wearing shorts and t-shirt.
Driver Sven now gets to hear the following from his boss the next few years; "Sorry Sven, no paycheck this week".
Sven is insured , also his truck is insured also the company he works for is insured , they will make fun of him for a day or two and that`s it . Don`t forget that Norwegians don`t interact with other humans for no reason
@@RICOFURNITURE Yes you are I'm sure right about this. Just making light of popular video. Glad the driver made it out. Dangerous stuff driving on those roads. Stay safe out there drivers of large vehicles on dangerous roads!
@@RICOFURNITURE Maybe not, the truck driver was Lithuanian so probably a subcontractor. Glad to see he survived at least!
@@jessicaandersson4313 yes , you`re right : at least he is in one piece :)
* Trucks go off cliff and explode *
Guy in charge: All right, sent the next one...
"Alright. Go down there and keep towing."
One nimble driver got out in time.
He had time to close his door behind him.
Seriously......right!
I had to watch it several times to see where that person came from.
Unless you can get out before it goes over, you are safest inside the vehicle... it's designed to help you survive a crash.
@@pulaski1 You have a lot more protection falling down a hillside in a vehicle than you do falling down the hillside without the vehicle.
@@blogintonblakley2708 A fair point, but I thought we were contrasting the driver of the truck being towed (who stayed in his vehicle) with the driver of the tow truck driver, who jumped out onto the road and didn't fall at all.
Norway did I just see two trucks go over a cliff?!!
So glad he survived!!
He survived cause Volvo. If I`d been a Renault he`d have been as dead as a door-nob.
Thats not true...the designers are still swedish...
AB Volvo is Swedish owned.
Please can you post a video of their recovery. It would be amazing.
Carve a trail to the shoreline and float them out.
I guessing a barge or two and a crane. Tow Truck driver is going to have a hard time getting insurance after that fiasco!
And I was thinking, "Glad no one was in those trucks." Happy the person that was inside came out okay. Whoa.
The best move that driver ever made was jumping out of that cab! Just in time, too. Holy shit!
On the plus side the fall was cushioned by the trees and the ground below.
Looks like someone was a little late getting the tire chains on the tow vehicle.
"There's Norway you can a Fjord to do that again."
He wondered..
"what exactly would Chuck Norris do?"
