You know it’s gonna be good when you first hear “ok hi guys welcome to the show.” ..... oh wait that’s all episodes
Hey TGV you ok? Not seen any videos for 10 days or so...take care...Tony
It's been about 3 weeks now. I can't imagine what's going on. I hope he is ok. His lungs conditions do worry me amidst the this crazy virus.
WristWatchWierdo wondering myself...
I just dropped in to this most recent video to see if anyone was similarly concerned. I emailed TGV direct about a week ago when I first started to wonder if he was okay and haven’t heard back. Hopefully he’ll be in touch soon.
I was wondering aslo...I hope everything is good
or maybe he's just finally taking a serious break.
Sir TGV, how are you? You are making a lot of us worried with your unusual absence. Take care
It seems he is traveling. There are some pics posted on the UGWC facebook forum of he and mini Hugo in London last weekend.
There is something so soothing about these videos. When ever I watch one I feel more relaxed. I would love to see you do this for the Speedmaster Moonwatch, Brietling Navitimer or Fortis Spacematic if you have not already done so. Thanks again for the upload my friend.
Thank you so much for saying that.
LOVE your suggestions, the Speedy and Navi is defo high on the to do list.
Looking forward to covering them.
Best regards,
TGV
It’s TGVs presentation voice and his well chosen musical tracks - oh - and his well chosen visual editing.
@@theurbangentry "Gentry in a jiffy" sounds like an infomercial darling.
I experienced the exact same feeling of good vibes and euphoria as you do.
This type of video needs to become much more of a regular occurrence TGV! I love learning little known facts about iconic watches.
Hi Tristano just checking in to make sure you are o.k. as it's been a couple of weeks and I haven't seen a video from you.All my very best to you and your lovely wife from the Lennie family! x
I was simultaneously educated and entertained by another of your videos. Thanks, TGV. Stay safe and be well.
The #1 thing that I don't know about the Submariner is... **drumroll please**
... How to get my hands on one ;)
Or rather "how to get one on my wrist"
You could always do what some S. Americans do and rob a tourist...
But, I'm really not a fan of that kinda plan... 🤔
J Michael Martin. Worked for me!😉
Matrix Mirage well, you could always try to sell your behind on some shady street corner. 🤪
@@abefroman8202 Lol! And *that* my friend, is why I'll always, probably, wear a G-shock when travelling... 😉
You can always do what I did, I waited for one to be available.
TGV, i hope you are in superb health, and if not i wish you get well soon!
This is a really interesting and compact presentation. Thank you, TGV! I would like to see some more of this format about other iconic watches ;)
Sebastian!!!! Lovely to hear from you and even more to know you approve.
More on the way.
Thank you my friend, I hope you are well.
Best regards,
TGV
Hi, I’m a 52 year old retired police officer. In the last month I’ve watched all of your videos on CZcams. I hate that I'm all caught up because I looked forward to watching them daily. I’ve always worn watches but never really collected them. I now have started trying to collect them. I do have a question? My eyes are not what they used to be. Is there a day - date Cyclops I can have added? I’ve seen date Cyclops, but a few of my watches have both day and date.
Thanks for your time and effort in making these videos. I really enjoy them.
TGV are you well sir?
Love the cocktail bar music at the start 🍸🎹. Very classy, and can almost imagine being in a cocktail bar early last century. As always supremely entertaining and great knowledge of the Sub ⌚. Thank you for the videos, they are very much appreciated 🙏Stay healthy my friend 👍
Thank you so much Chris, that means the world to me, especially from such a veteran Gentry member like yourself.
Onwards, upwards and stay safe too.
Best regards,
TGV
Thank you for these videos I cant afford even a seiko 5 but I really enjoy seeing these watches and the lore behind them.
I wear what you can afford. No shame in that.
TGV man, I hope you are in good health!
Tris, how are you...? Wishing you well and stay healthy... We are missing your VideoS... 🙏🙏
Great video thank you for the content TGV! Big fan of the channel for a long time. You have two outstanding motivational videos from a couple years back that were very inspiring. During this weird time it would be great to have something like that in the near future...
Thank you for all of your content and please continue to make these wonderful videos for all of us. Take care!
Thank you very much dear TGV ! As always, it is very interesting and informative !😎
Always a pleasure, thank you for the comment, it is always appreciated.
O&U!

TGV
Another great video TGV, just watched this with a Peroni. Your videos always help me unwind, thanks for keeping the content coming in such difficult times.
Thank you so much, I just poured myself a voddy and tonic, chin chin!
Stay strong my friend. O&U.
Best regards,
TGV
Awesome info here. thanks for putting this together.
Okay , now I have binged watched a huge proportion of your videos , I can safely say I am a fan. Good work old boy !
Hi TGV
Very interesting info about one of the most famous watches ever. Really like this kind of in-depth (!) historical videos. Gimme more😊
Keep up the good work👍
Thank you Kjeld, hopefully a lot more to come.
What watch would you like to see next?
Best regards,
TGV
The Urban Gentry
An overview of the Omega T30 movement and its immediate successors could be very interesting. I realize that we’re not talking about one watch here but many pieces based on a certain movement design...
Well, that’s what came to my mind.
I know one thing about this watch - I can't afford it😂
You will soon.. with this economy so stay tuned 👍
One thing i know... over rated and way overpriced
@@landerzone2643 So says the one who would say just the opposite had he owned one.
Can you afford a used Honda Accord? Maybe a new sporty motorcycle? If you want one, you can have one. You'll have to buy it from a flipper who has an AD buddy, but if you want one, you can do it. Only question is whether you think your hard earned money is worth it.
A a Rolex watch can be used as a form of currency everywhere in the world. Someone will offer you good money for a Rolex god forbid you are in an emergency and all you have is. Rolex on your wrist.
Super cool information. Thanks TGV.
no new upload for two weeks?? is he okay?
Very informative. Thank you so much.
Awesome historical facts about the Sub! Very cool filming at that Naval yard, too!
"I should take a break from CZcams."
*TGV upload
"Okay, just 12:08 minutes more..."
Either TGV or PoliceActivity does this to me
For me its Producer Michael🤣
Informative content. Credit where credit is due, well delivered. Keep up the good work. Regards.
The red Submariner is absolutely stunning
Yeah, but it's got RED writing on it? Who wants that?! Like it's trying to imitate G-shock or something! Lol!
Top notch video! Enjoyed it very much!
The speedmaster would be a great choice! Cheers TGV!
Fantastic video! Love the unidirectional bezel piece of knowledge !!!! Well done TGV! Missing your Subby now?!?;)
Haha, thank you my friend!
Best regards,
TGV
I LOVE tudor submariner !!! Very cool video about submariner tgv. 🙂👍
Thank you Knorad :D
Onwards and upwards!
Best regards,
TGV
Great content. Thank you. 👍🏼
Love the Sub! Definitely a lot of history behind this beautiful model of Rolex. Fantastic video and I learned a lot here! I truly enjoyed this! Quite a bit I didn't know. In fact I'm going to re-watch a few times so that I can remember more of the details. Love that reference book you were showing in your vid. What is the name of that book? I would like to buy one of those. Some great reading material for the shelter in place time! Keep up the fantastic work! Thank you!
Very comprehensively informative.
Great history, in a format really best suited for me to learn. Well done. I nominate the Omega seamaster professional 300 meter
Hi TGV it's been a while 😁
Haven't watched the video yet but
I'm already loving the intro And history!
Have a great day!
AVC!!!!!
Wonderful to hear from you.
Thank you so much, this has put a massive smile on my face.
I hope this finds you safe my friend,
Best regards,

Watching this wearing my ceramic sub date.....and love it! 😁
Super sharp BLADES 👍I love my Rolex submariner 16613 bluesy. 👍🥂
Super sharp BLADES haha my 114060 says Hi Blades and TGV
Wow I didn‘t knew that my 14060 was the first Sub with a unidirectional bezel! Great to always learn something!
I hope you’re well boss
I love watching these videos on the history of watches. Even tho I can’t afford them it’s still very interesting how companies developed their “brand”.
TGV, great shots of the Moshulu and the surrounding area. Thanks for showing off our great city. Cheers!
Your attention to detail in information and presentation is extraordinary. Stay safe .Peace out from Canada
Excellent video. I'll never tire of the Submariner history. Such an icon
Nice vid, always something you didn’t know about these iconic pieces. Looking forward to the next episode. Should you get the opportunity it would be great to see an episode on Sartory Billard
Great content - as always!
Thanks for that, really enjoyed it.speedmasters are always interesting and so are tunas cheers mate 👍
I love these short videos!
Thanks for the great history lesson! Very much appreciated.
Brilliant work TGV - I really think Rolex would do well to appoint you as an ambassador - you’ve earned your stripes Sir
Excellent video, TGV. You do come through every time.
I worked for Stolt Comex Seaway for years, they bought Comex in 1993. If you worked on a trip offshore you could buy a Rolex at a discount, I think it was £1200 instead of the usual £1800 back then. They had them in the stores. A lot of the divers had Sea Dwellers and the like as well. A great many of them were ex-Navy (French and British) and had watches from military service too. It was often joked that divers would "lose" a watch on a dive and have to get a new replacement :-) Aberdeen is always somewhere you can wear a proper dive watch as a dress watch with a suit.
🇬🇧 I really enjoyed this episode. Thank you 🙏
I really enjoy the GIAJ series. There is so much cool info to enjoy!
The MilSub is one of, if not the, coolest tool watch ever.
Looking forward to the next one.
Regards,
Koen
Hi TGV! Thanks for another great video! I'm a fairly new fan of the channel, and to be honest, not sure how I discovered your channel lol. But I believe the first episode I can remember watching was a couple of weeks ago and it was about the Casio Duro, which I purchased yesterday😁 Thanks for the informative and entertaining videos, personally I've just been a casual watch fan through the years, but enjoy them even more after watching your channel! The watch I nominate next for your mini series is the Tornek-Rayville. Thanks for reading this far and keep up the great content! 😃🤙
Thank you Herbert and welcome aboard!
Great nomination/idea btw,
Best regards,
TGV
Do one on the Hamilton military watches! Or the American A-11 from WW2
Superb presentation Sir!
Hi TGV, very cool video and very captivating with some great history, so much more to the Sub than meets the eye! Many thanks an stay safe 👍
I'll never own one but I do like learning more about them. Many thanks.
TGV ty so much for the insight to the rationale of the helium escape valve. I really enjoy viewing your shows. Ty you again 👍
New subscriber to the channel! Fantastic stuff, mate! Watched a few of your "Lifestyle Review" type of videos you did with the Submariner, and I thought it was great to see how the watch looked out in real life. A lot of these watches are kind of hard to get a hold of for someone without easy access (and/or money -- like me!), so it's sometimes really hard to envision what it would look like deployed in real life with certain outfits, activities, etc.. Really hope you release more videos like that! Keep up the good work, mate! Cheers.
Fantastic video and YES, I learned many new things!
TGV, I’d love a retrospective on the Breitling Chronomat. Given its role in battling the Quartz crisis, as well as its new throwback B01, such an episode could be both informative and timely. Thanks for the work you do. Onwards and upwards.
What a great review of history of this lovely Rolex
Thank you Terry :D
Best regards,
TGV
Excellent video, as always. It would interesting to see a similar style Seamaster video. The speedmaster and Daytona would be great to add to the series too 😉
I am liking the Seiko Prospex LX Diver lately ! . Great history presentation.!
Hi TGV, hope all is good with you (and Hugo). Stay well!
T, THis is an utterly excellent video and top-notch quality-wise. Thank you for your work. Best as always. Matthew
Thank you number 1.
A comment from you on a new video is always deeply appreciated.
O&U!
Best regards,
TGV
This was a good one!
While I already knew about some of these facts, it was a very interesting video to watch nevertheless and I learned quite a lot. Thank you!
I would like to see a similar video regarding the Seamaster Diver 300m next.
Very interesting video! Cheers!
Thank you Jeremy, as always great to hear from you brother.
I hope you and the family are safe and well.
Best regards,
TGV
Great video
Exquisite production as usual, TGV! Thanks so much for such an excellent show. You’re work is eagerly anticipated with each passing episode. I too will always have a Sub in my collection. Too iconic not to. My initial watch fanaticism was born due to Sean Connery and his Sub in his Bond adventures.....still one of the best. Any thoughts on the Smiths reincarnation from Eddie Platts, extremely sought after even though obviously has from the Explorer. I am intrigued due to having a Smiths branded piece, with a Explorer type dial....both of which have heritage in the Everest summit.....but neither an Explorer or a modern Smiths piece did it....I find the conundrum quite interesting and beguiling. Be well my friend and stay safe. Onward and upward.
Hey TGV, just echoing previous comments!! Not like you to go this long without updating us with some great content! Hope all is well. 👍
T,
Great show as usual. I'd like to see more about the Rolex Seadweller.
Alls well on the Eastern front I presume? Everything's ok here in the Bush.
Keep well & Best Regards
Stuart
That was fascinating
Hello Chris. Hope you and the good lady are well. Great video as always. Most splendid. Love from Northern Ireland 🇬🇧
Abe Froman The Sausage King of Chicago!?
Thank you Abe, I will pass your best wishes along. I hope this finds you well.

Mountain Standard Time. My sisters husbands, cousins, son. A fine fellow.
The Urban Gentry. You sir are a true gentleman.
TGV, I know your stance on fake watches and I share the same feelings about it. Especially the thing about supporting cheap labor and criminal activity..
But I'd just like to share that the very first gift that a patient has given me was a fake Seiko five and it is very dear to me. As a young doctor, I found it such a big gesture that a rice farmer who can barely afford a general check up (which is why I don't charge him) has saved up to give me this watch. I'm sure he didn't know that the piece wasn't genuine, and I remember him being very excited to give it to me. I put it on as soon as he handed it to me and he gave me a hug.
Was reminded to share the story behind my fake watch because despite it saying "Seiko 5 sports" on the dial, it really looked like a fake sub.
Thanks for a great vid as always. Missed you man. Any opportunity to talk about watches had me work my way to a guy wearing a sub at a party. Loving this watch I made a beeline in his direction. He offered for me to try it on, I couldn’t get it over my enormous hands 😩. Is this normal size?. Then I saw it had a release valve on the side. I had never seen this before. It didn’t have comex printed on the dial. It massively confused me so I did my research, and then discovered all about the comex etc. The number you discuss of release in the vid, are they comex printed only details or for watches produced with valves full stop?
I would love to see a Submariner vs SKX video!
Also, I know it's a very niche watch, but the Breitling Emergency would probably be very exciting to learn about too.
You might want to look in the archives. For some reason I he's done it.
Fantastic video, professional documentary type. Congratulations !! Greetings from Chile 🇨🇱
TGV, I hope this reaches you well. We all miss your videos, Hope all is well, best wishes to you and your family. Stay safe!
Rudy
Good evening TGV, great insight you give us into the Submariner! By far the Sub is the may the most iconic watch one can think of. Thanks to James Bond/Sean Connery. Have a great evening! Best regards!
Always a pleasure my friend and thank you. I hope you are having a good week.
O&U!
Best regards,
TGV
What happened to tgv?!
No one seems to know. I hope he's well.
Great stuff! I haven't seen any reviews on Raymond Weil or Rado as of yet. Do you think you might be able to in the near future?
where are you? I'm starting to worry man. sending you positive thoughts.
Absolutely love your videos that show a connection with military history. Well done sir. As a suggestion, how about famous German military (Bundeswehr) post WW II watches. Some Cold War classics like the Junghans J88, Heuer/Sinn 1550 and the Orfina/Porsche Design 7177.
Great video. Would love a story about Breguet type XX
YESSSSSS!!!! Excellent suggestion
Thank you Miroslav :D
Best regards.

Good day TGV. Watching this wearing my new Casio AMW330 that I got the other day. I'm thinking of getting the new Casio Duro with the gold bezel, hands and dial markers. Cheers to you and Mrs. TGV.
Would like to see a vid done on the Glycine Airman.
Great video! Very informative. Next i would like to see Omega seamaster!
Greetings from a subscriber in Sweden.
At first I didn't you much like you much, but you know what ? You've grown on me . Can tell this hobby is your passion.
Haven't seen a video in a few days chap, hope you're just taking a much deserved break and all is well! Looking forward to seeing the next of your top notch videos.
Great video again! Can we expect an explanation about a tourbillon watch? If you already did, I couldn't find it.
Thanks for the effort to make this video again!
Thanks, TGV! Didnt know about the *COMEX* subby's existance till now. Think I'll run out and get me one today---
Or, maybe... Think Amazon will have any on Prime? 😉
I feel like you’ll hit 500k subs pretty soon if you keep up the great work
7:15 - "Mass-market" "Luxury" "Commodity", these 3 words are such great and accurate juxtapositions! Great choice of phrasing - the Sub is really a luxury treated as commodity by the mass market.
The 114060 is the best ref Sub ever
