    Very informative video the best out right now. Well detailed and I lile how you're clean with your work. I'm looking to install these myself on my 65 C10 fleetside long bed. I was wondering how you got that pack that came with that T fitting to connect your pressure switch. I've looked and they only have the 1/4 T fitting without threads. Pls help Mahalo 🤙

    ❤❤❤ when I put my system together I used 4 Viair air compressors because I don’t like my air compressors to be in the dirt and the bad weather, as well as high humidity and water. I put my. 4 Viair compressors in the toolbox of my pick up truck bed. I have an air pressure regulator that regulates the amount of air pressure that goes to my air horns, and it only takes seconds for me to have 200 psi but I’ve pumped it up to 250 psi and checked for leaks, and I had no leaks. I do have a conventional dial air pressure gauge that has two needles won the monitors, the air pressure in the tank and one that monitors the air pressure. That’s been regulated and released to the air horns. I have an air pressure gauge right in the cab of my pick up truck. Bet your conventional needle air pressure gauge, but I do have a dual air pressure gauge that is digital and I’m thinking about installing it just for a cool unique feature in the cab of my truck. ❤❤❤ I did set up my system where I can plug in an air hose and blow up my tires or somebody else’s if they have a flat. I have $3200 worth of air system in the toolbox in the bed of my truck and everybody that seen it is totally blown away of what I constructed. ❤❤❤

    Great video. What's the smallest air tank that the compressor could work with? I wanna do this on a Prius to prep it for some heavy load in the rear., 100kg ish at the hitch. Any idea how many minutes would take to lift the rear (roughly speaking) to stock with a small tank? Just trying to get some ball park numbers to see what's doable.

    I thought I'll check this video since there aren't many on board air write-ups for 2nd gens. First thing I noticed is the tag on the compressor is the specs for both combined I believe since it's a dual compressor kit. The compressor can really be mounted whenever but you can relocate the air intake to a dryer spot. The wiring and install job is done pretty good. I have a 7 gallon tank I believe off an older 2 ton truck using the bracket and it's attached to my receiver hitch. I have the compressor back there too. I also add a triple gauge pod to my truck on my dash for trans and boost, added an air pressure gauge in the empty spot.

    does the heat from the engine negatively affect the performance or amount of time you can use the compressor before it gets too hot and shuts off?

  • @tonyb337
    @tonyb337 Před 8 lety

    it is a good idea to run the filter to a clean dry place, in the glove box or under dash,,I have lots of experience with these and it helps the plastic air filter housing from getting over heated,the pump gets hot,,it also helps the pump last much longer. jmo

    This is an oiless compressor. Mounting it side was will wear out the piston ring faster then if mounted upright.(dont believe me call them, tech support will agree.) Also the IP rating is a 67. It can be mounted under truck.

  • @rev9fan1
    @rev9fan1 Před 7 lety +9

    there are a couple of issues I see, one is heat from the engine bay causing premature pump failure, and heat causing excessive amounts of water from the air being hot leaving the compressor, condensing to a liquid by the time it gets to the tank.

    I enjoyed watching your install and your narration is spot on; not boring. Is your pump working well? I'm asking because I thought the cylinder is supposed to be mounted in the vertical position instead of the horizontal position. I'm considering mounting the Viair Heavy Duty pump P/N 10005 on my truck.

    3.5 cfm AT 0 PSI, OR Free Air. Real numbers are more like 40psi and 90 or 100psi, which get lower the higher ya go.
    DON'T solder wires to relay, they do fail and need replacement. You can also overheat the inside making it fail instantly or sooner. Use proper spade terminals, ideally a relay connector making relay replacement a simple unplug then plug in new one...super easy

  • @nikog4071
    @nikog4071 Před 4 lety

    You should never mount Viair compressor or any compressors sideways or upside down they will make your compressor break down and stop working cause they way the piston is inside the head of the motor and water from moisture can be trapped to cause damage to your compressor....Just sayin............
