I Am In Harar | Getting Married In Ethiopia! | Part 2

  • The celebrations continue in Part 2 of my Ethiopia Travel Diaries. I continue to learn more about the history and culture of Harar and the traditions that are carried out pre and during a wedding celebration.
Some of these traditions are totally amazing, and it really surprises me just how rich in culture the Harari people are. I walk through the streets of Harar with my cousin who shows and explains some important parts of the old town.
I will be posting a blog post on my website (see below), listing all the traditions that I've mentioned throughout the video with more details and meaning behind them.

Even though I've been to Harar quite a few times before, I saw so many things that I would love to change and get some people to come together to try to improve. Hopefully, next time I go, I will make some plans and try to make a change. Seeing the school really did make me think about the privileges that we are afforded in the West. It also makes me think, had my parents not left, I could have been there now. Thank you for watching!

Ethiopians are beautiful in their diversity. If it is not the variety of peoples, cultures, languages or religion it will lack taste salt, pepper, garlic, onions, spices maybe missing. Alecha, Tibebe lebedev, Gurage dance becha
    yehonal.
I love Harar Dire Dawa, Arba Minch, Gambela, Baher Dare, Awasa or Haike small town in Wallo. Other wise it will only be Addis Ababa, which is the capital of all people who harmoniously United live together. Today it has been beautified and has become a VIRGIN and worth visiting. Even though all peoples of Ethiopia call it home, it can't be larger than Life Ethiopia.
I am happy for you GORGEOUS girl weeding signifs a change as well as a beginning. It symbolizes a passage as death but a Delightful and pleasure to the new brides and the PRIDE of Parents. It is celebrated with songs and dances ample delicious food. There is not a day in the life of man satisfaction as Birth and Weeding, you are blessed with one and GOD bless in all the best of life to come.
Wish you guys a Loving and happy full Life in JESUS CHRIST name. Sorry but not so sorry we are variety show of Love of GOD and mankind. That is the what the First Commandment of the Almighty says. AMEN and AMEN.

In madinah, at the time of the Prophet PBUH, they were types of streets like that "fighting and friends". Just forgot how they use to call them in Arabic. I'm amazed how well the culture is preserved although lots have changed but at list the streets still exist while in madinah mostly everything is gone historically speaking of course.

My first GF was Hararian and was memorable and enjoyable our courtship. Given we were with different religion and without crossing the border, This happened some times more than 30 years ago. And I still 💚💚💛💛💖💖Aida was like Mother Ethiopia. 🙏🏽

Africa's Best first of all the capital Addis which belongs to Oromos is overpopulated by AMHARA because of obvious oppression and killings and land robbing. With harar, it belongs to Oromos it’s a diverse region but it’s indigenous to Oromos first. The founder of harari is from hijaz Saudi. Oromo are the majority because we lived there 1st🙂

KAMAL , AMHARA AND TIGREE ARE WAY BETTER THAN SOMALI WHO CLAIMS EVERYTHING TO THEMSELVES . SEE AT COMMENTS OF SOMALIS ( THEY ARE SOMALIS, THEY LOOK SOMALI , THE WEAR LIKE SOMALIS , THEY PRAY LIKE SOMALIS,) AND IT SEEMS ALL THEY KNOW SOMALIS ( THAT'S IT ). HARARI, AFARI, OROMO , ARGOBBA , WALAYTA ETC WILL DEFINITIVELY CHOOSE AMHARA OR TIGRE INSTEAD OF SOMALIS . JUST FOR THE RECORD , 20 % OF AMHARA ARE MUSLUMS , 15% OF TIGRE ARE MUSLUMS . BETTER TO LIVE IN CHRISTIAN DOMINATED ETHIOPIA THAN INTOLERANT , INHUMAN , POORLY RELIGIOUS EDUCATED SOMALIA .
