I Am In Harar | Getting Married In Ethiopia! | Part 2

- The celebrations continue in Part 2 of my Ethiopia Travel Diaries. I continue to learn more about the history and culture of Harar and the traditions that are carried out pre and during a wedding celebration.
Some of these traditions are totally amazing, and it really surprises me just how rich in culture the Harari people are. I walk through the streets of Harar with my cousin who shows and explains some important parts of the old town.
I will be posting a blog post on my website (see below), listing all the traditions that I've mentioned throughout the video with more details and meaning behind them.

*Nikkah
Riiiggghhhhht! You can just see elements of the culture everywhere, it's amazing. And thank you!
Thanks for sharing this awesome video. Amazingly you captured beautiful side of Harar and the realities on the ground as well; I'm really touched by the condition of the "Gey Medressa", although never been there, I feel your video made me realize we should make our little contribution to make a positve difference. Have a wonderful stay in Harar.
Even though I've been to Harar quite a few times before, I saw so many things that I would love to change and get some people to come together to try to improve. Hopefully, next time I go, I will make some plans and try to make a change. Seeing the school really did make me think about the privileges that we are afforded in the West. It also makes me think, had my parents not left, I could have been there now. Thank you for watching!
Everything reminds me of Somalia the adhaan and the way people know that your from a different country 😂😂❤️
Well we are neighbours, similarities are inevitable :)

Harar betam konjo, chat betam ymwedsh and qen medres efelgaleh, enye Eritrea lij ne harar betam ywedshal i love you more Harar
Ethiopians are beautiful in their diversity. If it is not the variety of peoples, cultures, languages or religion it will lack taste salt, pepper, garlic, onions, spices maybe missing. Alecha, Tibebe lebedev, Gurage dance becha
yehonal.
I love Harar Dire Dawa, Arba Minch, Gambela, Baher Dare, Awasa or Haike small town in Wallo. Other wise it will only be Addis Ababa, which is the capital of all people who harmoniously United live together. Today it has been beautified and has become a VIRGIN and worth visiting. Even though all peoples of Ethiopia call it home, it can't be larger than Life Ethiopia.
I am happy for you GORGEOUS girl weeding signifs a change as well as a beginning. It symbolizes a passage as death but a Delightful and pleasure to the new brides and the PRIDE of Parents. It is celebrated with songs and dances ample delicious food. There is not a day in the life of man satisfaction as Birth and Weeding, you are blessed with one and GOD bless in all the best of life to come.
Wish you guys a Loving and happy full Life in JESUS CHRIST name. Sorry but not so sorry we are variety show of Love of GOD and mankind. That is the what the First Commandment of the Almighty says. AMEN and AMEN.
Thanks for sharing, make sure the language doesn't die, it will be a shame in Todays Ethiopia where you have achieved self administration because you are one of a kind of many kinds of Ethiopians
We should avoid speaking when the Athan is in progress. Love you so much girl ❤️

MASHA ALLAH , HARARIS RE GOOD PEOPLE , HOWEVER, THEY STILL PRACTICE ( BIDA ,INNOVATION ).
Love and salaam from India
I am from turkey and harari culture is smilar in a way that people does not live individual life it is social life and people share a lot. I think islam shaped the society similar way
Gurel ASIK did u know harari are mixed with Turkish? The Turks also renovated their masjid here in harar recently
reya720 I did not know it, when they did it?
reya720 are you from harar
Gurel ASIK yes on my moms side i am oromo hararghe there are 2 ethnics that are native there harari and Oromo. but I also have cousins that are mixed with turkey they are still oromo so there are 2 ethnics but harari the ancestors are from. Hijaz Saudi.. then some of them are also mixed with turkey 🇹🇷. It’s a beautiful place
Gurel ASIK during ottomans time turkey came to spread Islam and mixed with harari and some Oromo in harar. That is why my cousins are part Turkish.
Nice
For God's sake the soldier only asked if she was talking to him, he never said that she wasn't allowed to take picture. BTW I love Ur vlog keep Ur good work my sister.
He does not belong in Harar first place only there because of occupation
Beautiful ethiopian mashallah

Hello Amina, it was really amazing tour, I love it , I was just searching for harari people's and I Watched this video, it was great. Amina if you don't mind I need your contact , maybe you can help me
Thanks for the very interesting videos, Amina. Don't you speak Amharic language? I thought that all people in Ethiopia can speak Amharic.)))
a large percent of people from ethiopia don’t speak amharic.
Hay miss harar i am from India
OK had to stop the video and comment here 1:18.
In madinah, at the time of the Prophet PBUH, they were types of streets like that "fighting and friends". Just forgot how they use to call them in Arabic. I'm amazed how well the culture is preserved although lots have changed but at list the streets still exist while in madinah mostly everything is gone historically speaking of course.
Is there hotels there its interesting city I need to go there there a holiday

Why you like records with home
Salam amina yonis
I am in place are shiikhaal abaadir family
It is with great respect but, I am disgusted when you are trying to separate - Harar, Harari and Ethiopian. You should have said I am an Ethiopian from Harar and married in Harari tradition. My first GF was Hararian and was memorable and enjoyable our courtship. Given we were with different religion and without crossing the border, This happened some times more than 30 years ago. And I still 💚💚💛💛💖💖Aida was like Mother Ethiopia. 🙏🏽
Ethiopians is so beatiful
Tedy Eldane yes indeed
Girl i mean
I was so scared when the soldier said not to record him.....plus why tf is the solider right behind ur house walking with a gun?
Yes, you're right. The day before I was leaving (2nd August), there was a protest on the road leading towards the airport and no-one was allowed to pass through. The situation in Ethiopia is getting quite dire atm.
+habesha channel FUCK TPLF!!!!
+I Am In A Place why is the Adere tribe so small? there are more Oromos in harar than actual than the Oromo captial Addis.
+habesha channel why are the Oromo protesting?
Africa's Best first of all the capital Addis which belongs to Oromos is overpopulated by AMHARA because of obvious oppression and killings and land robbing. With harar, it belongs to Oromos it’s a diverse region but it’s indigenous to Oromos first. The founder of harari is from hijaz Saudi. Oromo are the majority because we lived there 1st🙂
What language are y'all speaking? Hadere?
Yess, Harari :)
me.
Hi
I like to marry a girl from Harar ethiopia
All women look bride at wedding with their colorful outfits but you didn't show the real bride at this video
Those are kenya swahili women Colonial come to kenya they run to ethopia harar
Hi Ibrahim, Harar is a very old city. Settlers came in early 13th century. While the British came up in Kenya in the 19th centiry. They have a lot of similarities with the Swahili people but that story doesn't hold up bro.
How are you
I want a Muslim women of Ethiopian above 45 years old.
The habits there similar with arab countries theres no diference
I like u
You look so beautiful. Are you on Instagram?
what's your Instagram name?
Everything is in the description box. It's simply_amina
Will u marry me
I wish I had a wife from there who will move in with me
DO NOT BECOME AN ATTRACTION FOR TOURISTS
Seeing this makes me glad I'm an American. I am more grateful for my freedom.
are armed amhara soldiers a common sight in harar?
Abdiaziz Ahmed
Stupid how do u know if he is amhara or not, and can I ask a question in Ur country wherever u are from is it common to see Ur armed soldiers on the street. Harari is Ethiopia so everyone is allowed to go wherever they want. Same way there are so many harari ppl in amhara that u can't even count Ur self.
There is something with that pose that stirs a man's emotions. A picture of a woman laying flat on her back with her hands stretched over her shoulders.
I am Somali and I am really ferrous about that filthy Amhara guy with the gan speaking down to this Harari sister Oh that is why we Somali have to get our shit together so we can free our people (Hararis, Afar, somalis and Oromos) under this Amhara &Tigree colonialism
KAMAL , AMHARA AND TIGREE ARE WAY BETTER THAN SOMALI WHO CLAIMS EVERYTHING TO THEMSELVES . SEE AT COMMENTS OF SOMALIS ( THEY ARE SOMALIS, THEY LOOK SOMALI , THE WEAR LIKE SOMALIS , THEY PRAY LIKE SOMALIS,) AND IT SEEMS ALL THEY KNOW SOMALIS ( THAT'S IT ). HARARI, AFARI, OROMO , ARGOBBA , WALAYTA ETC WILL DEFINITIVELY CHOOSE AMHARA OR TIGRE INSTEAD OF SOMALIS . JUST FOR THE RECORD , 20 % OF AMHARA ARE MUSLUMS , 15% OF TIGRE ARE MUSLUMS . BETTER TO LIVE IN CHRISTIAN DOMINATED ETHIOPIA THAN INTOLERANT , INHUMAN , POORLY RELIGIOUS EDUCATED SOMALIA .
Kamal Adam are u dumb? U dont even know his ethnicity
