    • @LuftWang
      @LuftWang Před 4 lety +39

      Yeah, same. Most groups usually debut with “edgy” songs and if Svt did that, I probably wouldn’t have noticed them.

      @Claire-td1ng Před 4 lety +8

      @@LuftWang To be perfectly honest, I have no idea why SVT having a cute debut song has to do with stanning them or not? Do you usually stan groups based on their debut song? 😯
      I personally wouldn' t be able to do that. I usually have to listen to their whole discography before deciding stuff like that, to know if their music is fully compatible with my taste 😅

    • @LuftWang
      @LuftWang Před 4 lety +17

      R Claire Well I watched 17 Project and the songs they used there weren’t funky like Adore U. I thought their music was alright, I haven’t decided to ult them at that time. Then when they debuted with a song with a completely different vibe from what they’ve been portraying it made them stand out because it shows that they have versatility. It was a fresh sound in 2015. Personally, I do prefer certain concepts over the other. In fact, I’m not a fan of bubble gum pop.
      Usually, it’s not just the songs that make me stan groups. Their personalities come into play too of course. Since they’re singers, naturally, songs give off the first impression.

    • @Claire-td1ng
      @Claire-td1ng Před 4 lety +7

      @@LuftWang Oh, alright ✌️
      I was the same, I fell in love with their debut song even though I wasn't that much of a fan of their songs in 17 projects. And I've never really liked that much cuter songs. I also do take into account their personalities when choosing fav groups, but I'll get even more invested in them if I love the big majority of their songs, otherwise I'll end up forgetting quickly about them (sorry Pentagon, ASTRO, etc.). I also love their versatility, they fit every concept so well, and it never feels awkward at all. Even tought a lot of other groups are also highly versatile (I keep having to stan more and more groups because of that 😭)

    Those little moments in the choreo are improvised, Seventeen really likes to incorporate some personality in their performances, so their more fun songs often have those little freestyle/let loose moments. They used to modify their choreos' beginnings and endings every week when they first debuted, so that fans who would come to multiple performances would always see something new.

Most of the new fans see SVT as a group to pull Dark concepts but most Carats knew svt as Freshteen. Also, you would love their songs Pretty U, Adore U, Mansae, Oh My, and Very Nice if you liked snapshoot. Seventeen started off as a “cute” fresh concept when they debuted. Only recently did they start going more “dark”. Their first win was with Pretty U and has a very theatrical choreography! Adore U is their debut song :-) I hope you can react to all of these fun songs and choreos! I find it kind of funny that Snapshoot is such a departure from what you're used to with Seventeen when for older fans, it's the opposite and feels more like a nostalgic return to their roots. This choreography was kind of like an ode to their debut years because this was the kind of concept they were working with at that time. So songs like Adore U, Mansae and Pretty U all had this kind of fun, musical style. Out of these three, I gotta say Pretty U was the most interesting one because of its very musical-like approach to choreography and the incorporation of a *sofa* into the choreo. Adore U and Mansae are just feel-good song and you can really see that they’re the ones choreographing it. I think they also released a special video back then either for their 3rd or 4th anniversary where they showed all the choreography changes they did to Adore U each week to gain attention from the public when they first debuted. Which ties in to one of your questions about whether some moments are choreographed or not. I personally think it’s more along the case of “alright let’s get these three people to pose here. Do whatever you want.” Because they have incorporated a lot of these kinds of things in their choreography. A famous one would be Clap I guess. There was a section where Vernon would be at the centre and does a set of movements alone, then the others would follow him. Which on stage will turn into all sorts of chaos as you can imagine. He once threw a mic into the air and catches it with a Woah. And luckily the members were able to copy it perfectly and none of the mics got hurt. 😂

    This was filmed when they were in tour in the USA back in january. And actually they all live together (they are divided into two dorms) so the “social distancing” is not a thing between them.
    If you react to their early choreographies you will notice that they have a lot of theatrical elements, especially “Pretty U”.

    Snap Shoot is actually reminiscent to Old SEVENTEEN back then they had this "Flower boy concept" which was quite fun actually and their song "Pretty U" is what made me a full-fledged Carat, just the vocals in that song..... absolute masterpiece I tell ya 👌

    Dino is actually a really good performer, he's basically an all rounder, his voice tone is really good, he's also really good at rapping, and don't mention his dancing, he's the best at it, and don't forget that he's good at broadcasting (he's bangchan lol) he's actually really funny and entertaining when he's in shows. He's the diamond maknae 😭💎❤️
    As a dinonara, I'm really sad that not so many people recognize his talent 😭 he's like one of the most hardworking person i've ever known, people need to stop sleeping on him 😭

    If you look at their older choreographies: Adore U, Mansae, and Pretty U, it actually has a lot of musical-like parts in it! That's why when Snapshoot came out, it immediately reminded us of the early Seventeen years :)) It would've been nice if you were able to see how they transitioned from Adore U to Fear!

    Hi Jeff, just want to drop a line to say thank you for your intelligent and well-crafted way of speaking. I like SVT and ended up watching a bunch of your videos and found your way of expressing thoughts quite genuinely critical, and you seem like someone who analyzes your language before speaking. Don't know if I'd would consider myself to be that immense of a K-Pop fan but somehow I kept putting myself through many reaction videos, and your intellectual way of expressing and calm manner are surprisingly hard to come by. Thanks again and looking forward to continue enjoying your SVT journey. Cheers!

    Mingyu made everything because it actually turned into a hobby for him!
    And yes, this was made in NY. They were in a US tour, and Dino was just SO embarrassed in the filming! Because they were just in public randomly shooting for a video :')
    They did improvised some of the parts, so they can have fun in the stage too! Is very cute
    And Dino also can rap, but he is part of the performance team because his dancing is very unique! Dino's Danceology is just sooooo good!
    They did this in their vague time, so it didn't was that hard to record. It was very fun!

Please react to their earlier musics like Adore U, Mansae and Pretty U. They are all songs from the same family! Cheerful, energetic and with a little bit of musical style and goofiness in the dances! You will love them!

    Actually fun/funky/bright theme is pretty much what they're known for during their early days.
    They slowly shift their concepts to suit their age because they think it is more natural to do so than trying be cool or manly when they are still young.
    But as they grow, they suits more concepts like emotional/manly but the fun concept will always be with them because you know fun is not limited to age and they embodied it so well😝 and because they love cute and fun concepts. It is who they are.
    Unlike some groups, you could clearly see not everyone in the group are comfortable doing such cute bouncy bright concept.
    So i think seventeen is very special for that reason, you can clearly feel the happiness from their stage doing concepts like this 😊

    if you wanna see more musical theater-esque choreos from them, you should definitely push up Pretty U on your list! it’s probably their most musical theater-y dances bc of all the props and acting haha, but a lot of their early choreos are similar to snap shoots, very fun and energetic :)
