- In this video the squad heads out into the Gifford Pinchot for our annual winter camp trip! We aim for a ridge that rides between 4000-5500 ft elevation to ensure we hit snow, and we definitely do!

Lost an orange traction board up there. If anyone finds it, please let us know.
From a Fellow Washington guy! Good video.
Don’t do that alone!
Awesome. Thanks for posting !!! 👍
Sweet video!
great video, really enjoyed it, makes me look forward to my next five day solo trip. almost forgot, also makes me love my 2016 trail 4runner even more, keep up the great work and be safe out there.
Heck yeah, you too!
Looks like a blast!!
Heck yeah man, next one is coming up soon!
Just subscribed. Also in the northwest
Awesome group of rigs! Love seeing videos of people that know how to play hard in the snow! Those last few switchbacks were tough but nice job plowing through them! I have done the traction board bridge before ha ha! That scene where the snow fell out of the wheel and had the perfect imprint of the wheel...exact same thing happened with us. So, cool it was like a perfect mold of the wheel. Fun stuff!
That’s awesome!! Yeah the snow bridge is a pro-tip for sure if you have enough boards. It’s slow going, but is definitely doable if you’re slowly clawing your way to a spot! I really enjoy your channel too, thanks for stopping by!
Looks like a ton of fun!
Hello fellow CZcamsr! I love your 4runner.... I own one too! I live in Northwest Washington ... Keep grinding on that outdoor adventure life my friend! Stay safe out there! Awesome video!
Thanks for checking out my channel! Maybe I’ll see you on the road!
Very cool. What's it like between 1,500-2,000ft in the winter? I have a camp spot in the Gifford Pinchot around that elevation but never been in the winter.
It’s a total gamble. Could be no snow at 2000ft or it could be 1-2 ft of wet slush. Usually at 2000ft you’re right at the snow line so it’ll be dependent on the weather the day/week of if that makes sense. We usually try to camp at 3,500-5,000.
That looked like it was a fun trip. Lead vehicle definitely gets a workout in snow like that. I camped in Gifford Pinchot a couple of weeks ago and it was epic.
That's awesome...and yeah that's weird to be in so much snow and then down to elevation where there isn't any.
Looks like an awesome trip. 👍🏼
Awesome adventure guys! Having all those traction boards and gear sure helped. Cheers!
Looks like a great trip. Thank you for posting the video.
Looks like a whole lotta fun guys
Nice quality video......thanks!
What's your ground clearance? I have 8" on a 2004 ford ranger 4x4 and I'm wondering how limiting it is with stuff like this. Thanks!
I just measured for you. I’m at 12.5” at my lowest in front and 10.25” to my rear diff.
The biggest factor for clearance is going to be tire size. With 8” of clearance you’d honestly be just fine for a lot. I’m not lifted huge and I still have fun. Always have another vehicle with you to help with getting unstuck!
I ask a lot of questions, is your 4Runner kdss?
All good! Yes it does have KDSS.
@@GrizzlyPath ok cool mine also has it. I like the look of yours how sits level even with a lift, I was researching 4Runners with kdss and leveling kits (westcott designs perch) and the ones I came across sit noticeably higher in the rear. Was interested in just doing a leveling kit because I don’t plan on doing extreme off reading where I would flexing hard and also wanna keep it riding good.
Do you have any recommendations on best level kit/ lift to go with?
Up hill stuff is tough. Any damage to undersides running over those boards?
None that I’m aware of! I didn’t hit any hard, but my buddy definitely did haha. Harder than he should have probably, but I doubt there was any damage.
too much throttle from the 4runners in that turn
Without the throttle there’d be no go. It wasn’t a hill you could crawl.
