How the Delta Center transforms into a dazzling ice arena

- The Delta Center may be home to the Utah Jazz but the venue also hosts an NHL hockey game every year, transforming into a dazzling ice arena in a matter of days.
"Once a year, we do an NHL hockey game. So it's, it's a big deal," explained Jaime Galileo, who works with the Smith Entertainment Group and is in charge of the ice transformation.

ActuallyI’ve read they will put the ice down once and it will remain all season; they put the basketball court on top of it before each BB game.
@@troyholl99 Like all other buildings that have both sports. They will still have to do the work to convert back and forth now.
@@daboys1215 Yes but not quite in the same way, the ice itself will just remain under the court.

You realize they don't melt the ice to switch from hockey to basketball in multi-purpose arenas? The ice is covered with an insulated surface and the court goes ontop. Then when it's time for hockey again they just uncover the ice.

Just think. There are alot of arenas that do this on a nightly basis. I do hope that Utha gets a hockey team. Im an Avs fan , Jazz and Nuggets fan as well
Xcel in Mn host all sorts of different tournaments they gotta repaint the ice, but the Wolves don't play there.

So it’s not a permanent ice rink underneath? Looks like a concrete floor and they just flood it with water. I don’t understand. Doesn’t look how other nhl arenas are
There are pipes underneath the concrete that bring it to the correct temperature to create ice.
