The amount of times Portsmouth have announced plans to either build new stadiums or at one point rotate the Fratton Park pitch and rebuild it that way is certainly something. I think most people in the area just dismissed it after a while as something that wasn't going to happen.

The New Feyenoord Stadium project could transform Rotterdam into a new sport hub city of the Netherlands. @@aes1373 They received planning permission to deck over the railway before Roman pulled the plug on the new stadium. The major issue with expanding Stamford Bridge is that the stadium must be sunk to reach the 60k + capacity they seek because there are height restrictions.
The Battersea site was never going to work because the club would have needed to sell the Stamford Bridge land to raise the capital. However the club don't own the freehold or the pitch that The Bridge sits on. Chelsea Pitch Owners refused to sell back to the club because they were formed and continue to exists as a means to insure that Chelsea never leaves it's ancestral home until options to stay have been exhausted.

Football clubs build these stadia with extra capacity but never have that capacity. This video made me look at the new Tottenham Hotsour stadium. Capacity is 62850 whilst the record attendance is only 62027. Which means ALL matches have been undersubscribed. Yet, it is impossible for non season ticket holders, who can only afford to attend a few games a season, to get tickets. It used to be said that football was the working persons game. Has the working person become millionaires, for that is what you need to be to be able to regularly attend matches or have a chance of obtaining tickets. #THFC #TottenhamHotspurFC #Spurs #TottenhamHotspur

7:54 No, there will not be reconstruction of the stadium, there is a plan to build a new stadium behind north stand and it will be done like tottenham stadium. They will build norh stand and half of west and east stand, then they will destroy old stadium and expand new one further south, also they will relocate training grounds to city outskirts because its to valuable land to be used as such. Plan should be delivered in 2024/25 and hopefully construction will begin in 2025/26. Stadium will have 55k-60k seats. The new Liverpool stadium looks like the Manchester City's current stadium, but sadly, it was never being built because of the global crisis in 2008-09, which saw a total ownership changes from Hicks-Gillett duos to another Americans, FSG. Not to mention, it was even shortlisted as one of the potential venues if England won the host right for the upcoming 2018 World Cup, which was eventually staged in Russia.
At the end, it was Everton who managed to construct a fresh stadiums at Bramley-Moore, but not before the club was played in the Championship for the first time for almost 70 years!
