My favorite feature is the 5% back on Amazon purchases during Christmas time!
Yes that’s an amazing feature of this card!
I wish we could use PayPal on amazon
I am 27 and just got approved for my first credit card with Discover it! I applied for the discover it travel, and received a $500 line of credit!! I am pretty excited because I have been trying to apply for credit cards to build my credit. The first time I applied, I was not approved but that was a few years ago, so I am so happy that I was accepted this time! 😀
That’s amazing! So exciting.
Dude your videos are great 👍 cant believe you dont have bubches of subs. Thanks for the info!
Making payments every two weeks helps you stay on top of your spending and budgeting. By paying off your credit card balance regularly, you can avoid overspending and incurring a large credit card balance that can be difficult to pay off.
It's a good starter card and definitely underrated. It was one of my first cards and my daughter has the student cards as her first card. Also, easy approval
I agree it’s a great option for those looking for a starter no fee card.
Just remember this is an add
Just got approved today!!
Got approved! Thanks
Way to go glad to hear it!
How will you know what your limit will be before getting a hard pull?
I got approved $6000 credit line I'm very happy
Zach I will be getting a Discover-secured credit card....$200.00 line credit..it says no Annual fees......This i like it will be my first time ever I am brand new to this.....But when i go to the unsecured credit card ...Is there Annual fees on this?......
So far so good. I’m rebuilding my credit and now close to 700. I applied and got approved for $12,000 the next day. I don’t plan on using anything close to my current limit but it’s nice to have. The 5x rewards has been clutch this quarter with crazy California gas prices. Unfortunately that was an easy cap lol. Overall great card.
That’s good to hear! I’m sure with California gas prices this card is really helpful.
700 from what???? I could use a roadmap i have to work on building my credit im at a 524 i was going to get this card and a credit builder loan and putting 30 on the card each month and paying that 30 off each month. Im still learning because i still know almost nothing about credit
@@boyer89joe hey I’d suggest using discovers secured credit card to help build credit in the beginning. Here’s a link if you’d like to apply for that one. www.discovercard.com/application/website/adaptive?abmsb=true&srcCde=KXPA&ICMPGN=ALL_CC_SECURED_APPLY_NOW_BTN&ICMPGN=ALL_CC_CB_APPLY_NOW_BTN&_ga=2.8387058.1192375896.1657418493-1971814160.1656890432&_gac=1.95045102.1657204795.CjwKCAjwiJqWBhBdEiwAtESPaCHb_gtRhmzzMtNG9hN7TIqmzhOcvLAL2-h5T-Lt8avnsd_3UesUuBoCRL8QAvD_BwE&adobe_mc=MCMID%3D05224199299493599770619429882386465799%7CMCORGID%3D0D6C4673527839230A490D45%2540AdobeOrg%7CTS%3D1657418505&mboxSession=d00fef0e7ec84323bfa2500bc29b61b2&adobe_mc_sdid=SDID%3D56429B37DAFF6C17-275A924EBCCABEF1%7CMCORGID%3D0D6C4673527839230A490D45%40AdobeOrg%7CTS%3D1657418507&adobe_mc_ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.discover.com%2F
@@ZachReynolds3 thats the card i was going to use so if im using $30 out of $200 each month and paying that off each month how much of a increase should I see in my credit score
@@boyer89joe That’s a good plan! There’s no way of knowing exactly how much your score will increase. If you do that though it will help drastically. And over time keep that up as building credit is best done over time.
Keep it going bro rn I’m 23 and i don’t have a car no crib under my name and I don’t understand the credit card situation I’m trying to learn it now so for a person with no credit history is this card a great start?
Hey I appreciate the feedback! This card is more for those who have a little bit of credit already. I’d suggest applying for the discover it secured credit card. Here’s a link if you’d like to apply for it www.discover.com/credit-cards/secured/ the secured card works in such a way that you give them $200 and that becomes your credit with them. It’s a way to build credit initially. If you have any questions lemme know. Hope it works well for you!
@@ZachReynolds3 thank you I’ll give it a try 🔥🔥and don’t stop doing CZcams you’re definitely the best out hands down
Thanks I appreciate it! If you need a video talking more about it this video goes over beginner cards a little more in depth then I can in comments. No annual fee credit cards for beginners

@Shawn S great cards!
@Shawn S exactly, i remember thats who gave me my start, Capital One Platinum and also the Credit One Platinum. Both started me out with a $300 line and i treated them responsibly and the rest is history☺
This was super helpful 😊
Glad to hear it!
I cancel my card today. They wanted me verify me. They couldn’t verify however they went into my checking account for 200.00.
I would like to know if Discover is inquiry sensitive? I have been receiving preapproval invitations every week for the last two months from Discover! I want to apply however I am waiting for three inquiries to fall off this month from Experian. I only have two with Trans Union and Equifax i’m sure I can get approved for the cards however I don’t want the card if it is going to be below $10,000. I have an excellent credit score but sometimes it is tricky…
Does this apply for the secured discover it card as well?
Hey, thanks for the question. The points in this video are specific to the discover it credit card but if you’re unable to get this card then the discover it secured card is a great option. Here’s a link to this card if you wanna look into it further www.discover.com/credit-cards/secured/
@@ZachReynolds3 thank you
Ngl I only applied because I liked the logo and commercials from the NHL playoffs and (Especially the one with the Hootie and the blowfish feature lol) but It's been a good card so far
That’s a cool perk of having the discover card.
@@ZachReynolds3 imo it really shows an example of marketing and persuasion.
@@johnspinelli9396 Thats a good point, it really is something simple that makes people feel like Discover is a little more personable than other companies.
The Discover Card is AMAZING! They have been always helpful :) If anyone would like a referral link if this promo on the video is expired I do have one!! Thanks for the AMAZING content!
I just got denied, with my credit score at mid 600 !& I make nearly 89k aslo pay all my bills on time !! 🤷🤷Wtf !!
I’m sorry to hear that, credit is getting tougher now days with the economy. Did they offer you any other cards?
I’m self employed, my income is mostly cash. My credit score is currently at 714, do you think I can get approved for this card?
I would think you have a very good chance. I’d go through the pre-approval processes on her website if you’re worried and it will tell you for sure.
You will bro!
On any card applications always select employed, self employed makes you look riskier
Discover it or discover miles? I got pre approved for both
Personally I’d go for discover it as I like the cash back better then miles and think you get more out of it. But if you are looking for a miles card then potentially go for the miles card.
@@ZachReynolds3 I took the discover it card and got approved for 1k, I kinda wish I would’ve went for miles maybe they would have gave me a higher limit but idk
Yeah it’s hard to tell, over time though of using the card right you should get a higher limit.
Can I get the regular it card if i'm currently unemployed?
That’s a good question I’m not sure. They like to see that you have income coming in for you to get approved for the card.
@@ZachReynolds3 Ok that's what I thought. I was preapproved for an Amazon credit card but I got denied after I applied. I thought maybe it'd be easier get a different card but I guess not.
@@Username4453 Yeah i'm sorry thats happen to you. Hopefully in the future you will be able to get approved.
@@Username4453 Income is important to credit cards companies. When you're unemployed, they look at you as high risk
What is the site where I can see if I'm pre approved?
Hey here it is: www.discovercard.com/application/preapproval/initial?opp=true&iq_id=r43700070795231168&cmpgnid=ps-dca-google-brand-preapproval&source=PSGOOGLE&gclid=Cj0KCQjwyYKUBhDJARIsAMj9lkGCK9y5dhOIfPfpRiAq-Q4bBVqr3GB8ATggF0AV5URQXjX-b6FdmEoaAlfEEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds&adobe_mc_sdid=SDID%3D5FE985C07F832A1C-64E7F24C8C6608D8%7CMCORGID%3D0D6C4673527839230A490D45%40AdobeOrg%7CTS%3D1652653642&adobe_mc_ref=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F
Thanks
I haven't lost a wallet since I was a teenager.
Should I get this Credit Card or the Amex EveryDay credit Card? Is having an Amex card more prestige?
It just depends on your situation personally I’d prefer the 5% you get from discover but the Amex everyday cards are great as well and if you are wanting to get other amex cards it would be helpful to get into their ecosystem and understand their cards better by using them so both are really good options.
I got approved for 13k on discover it miles
Amazing!
it tells me I have no APR until 2024 then it goes to 25.99 should I cancel? help please thanks.
That’s okay, you will find some cards have what’s called 0 apr for a certain amount of time and then you would have apr. So I’d encourage you to keep it open as that’s normal. Good question.
@@ZachReynolds3 Thank you for responding! My next mission is to fully understand how APR works and how to avoid paying for it!! 😊
@@qbee3413 no problem at all. So the quick answer is apr is what you pay if you don’t pay off your bill on the due date. If you do pay it when it’s due though, you will never pay interest and the apr is irrelevant. For years I’ve never worried about the apr because I always pay off my cards. Also you can set it up to pay off your balance in full each month and that way even if you forgot it would still be paid off and you’d never pay interest. The beauty of using a credit card the right way.
@@ZachReynolds3 Wow you make it sound simple. One more question: What happens If you have no apr but you miss a payment?
Your intro 😂
Man this was not a review but an a commercial for Discover. I wouldn't doubt this dude is getting paid as an affiliate .
Right?! Just looking for an unsponsored review here and YT is riddled with obviously paid for "influencers".
You get a thumbs up and a sub for the awkward Discover pun.
Haha 😂 appreciate it.
I dont see those categories. Only 2%
Do you have the discover it credit card?
@@ZachReynolds3 I just looked, it actually doesnt have "it" on my card. I thought they were the same.
@@cherylwright5516 oh I gotcha yeah that can be confusing.
I have a 20,000 limit on this card ,with a 0 balance finally
That’s amazing way to go!
@@ZachReynolds3 thank you, working on becoming debt free,I have one more to go,and that one also has a 20,000 limit,I paid off a 10,000 balance in 17 months, and I am working on baby step 2, I love Clever Girl Finance as well
Can I get a card with a turd on it? My Discover Card stinks. I’ve had this card for ten years and they have NEVER increased my credit limit. It would help my credit score if they would throw me a bone. But no, never, not once. I opened a card with a bank just a few years ago, and they started me with a limit double my Discover limit, and after a year they raised that by the entire line that Discover gives me. Discover can bite me!
