  • Long video but I believe good content. First Package Unit was a system I previously diagnosed and then the PM at the end I figured I could record and just speed up, man look at all that gunk come off that condenser coil!!!

    I’m loving the channel. Kinda like listening to a detective novel for ac techs. I’m a maintenance tech and currently building my ac repertoire. I listen to you guys while commuting and my morning runs.
    Keep up the problem solving with the verbal communication and I’ll keep listening. Excellent work.

    Good video! Just a friendly tech tip, when pressure testing the entire circuit with the compressor introduced then you should test to the low side maximum rating. Your blow molded compressor plug is not designed to handle the high pressure rating and it is not a fun day if you blow the molded compressor terminal out.

    • @AB_HVAC

      I never knew that. Is it just something with that compressor style then?

    500 microns is good enough for hvac. That static trick for charge is a bunch of shit. Charge by superheated and subcooling. Heat pumps can b tuff to charge. Ur doing an excellent job. When I was ur age I didn't know half what u do. That's some good ass coil cleaner.

    • @AB_HVAC
      @AB_HVAC  Před 6 měsíci +1

      That's true but on heat pumps (to my knowledge) you don't go by subcool specifically. Plus there isn't even a txv on this system which is the only time you go by subcool. Checking LLT on your discharge line in heat mode should be approximately 100° above ambient. But always go by the manufacturer specs if u have a pressure chart. I had nothing

      Not necessarily true, I go through jobs all the time without changing the filter dryer and so do many techs that I know and many techs on youtube that I’ve seen do jobs, it’s probably not a bad idea to change the filter dryer when needed but you definitely don’t need to change them after every job specially if your trying to save the customer some money, you shouldn’t give them a quote to change a perfectly good working filter dryer.
