Crazy to think Henderson would go on to steal another almost 500 bases....unbelievable.
Where is my RTTS player? He broke several records.
Jake Godek ikr
Jake Godek I love this comment haha
Jake Godek in mlb the show
4:05 Ryan breaks strikeout record and is nowhere near retirement. He then adds over 2,000 more. Good luck breaking that one.
Striking out is cool now right? Everyones doing it
What about the Carl Ripken Jr record of most consecutive games played?
I've been to work more days in a row than games Cal Ripken played consecutively. Where's my recognition?
Aureum Ursa 🤣🤣🤣👍🏼👏🏼
Probably the most overrated mlb record ever
CAL. Cal Ripken, not Carl.
1. Nolan Ryan breaking Walter Johnson's 55 year old strikeout record
2. Rose breaking Cobb's hit record
3. Ripken breaking Gehrig's consecutive game streak
Ryan broke the record twice. After he passed Johnson, he got injured and Steve Carlton passed him on the list. Later Ryan passed Carlton and pitched for another 7+ years.
Don't forget Cal Ripken, Jr
@@williamjones2407 he didnt forget him
All of these men are Hall of famers in my eyes. What good is a shrine when you’re remembered as one of the greats in anybody’s eyes? That’s how legends never die
Didn’t mean to rhyme. Go White Sox!
I was at the Bonds 756 game and the Ricky Henderson 939 game. I was also at the Giants vs Cubs game when Greg Maddux won his 300th game (not a record). Great video, thanks.
Greg Maddux has 18 gold gloves.
Brooks Robinson has 16.
The interesting thing is when Rose broke the hit record they THOUGHT the record, held previously by Ty Cobb, was 4,191 hits. They later discovered that Cobb only had 4,189. So, Rose actually broke the record a bit earlier than what we see in this clip.
Never seen that. Where did you hear that from?
where tf is Ichiro? Hes broken like two records
If you add his hits in japan and mlb, he beat pete rose
Japan pro baseball is like Triple-A level though. Still an amazing accomplishment
he would have broken it if he had come into the mlb at a younger age
Takayuki Suzuki then lets add Pete Roses minor league hits
Takayuki Suzuki even if true he has shown he can hit doesn't matter what league
Cal ripken Jr?
I love how all 3 players in the thumbnail have had controversy-filled careers
Boy I forgot that it was Walter Johnson’s record that Nolan Ryan broke. Man, Walter’s record stood a long time.
Ryan never had a 20 win season, but he could get the K’s.
@@johnhanover2229 1973-74 he won 21 and 22 games respectively. In 1973 he also broke the single-season strikeout record with 383. He arguably should have won the Cy Young award that year, but it went to Jim Palmer. Probably because the Orioles were contenders and the Angels were not.
Crazy when Nolan Ryan got that record, he would still go on to get 1500 more Ks
Uhhh... no, he would go on to get 2200 more. 5,714 total.
Its always great to hear Bill King and Lon Simmons call Ricky's record
I don't think anyone knew Alex Rodriguez broke a record when he did it. It counts, but does it really deserve recognition? Still a great feat
Maybe a subtitle to let us plebs know what record was being broken would help!
A Rod got no love lol
Rivera's cutter tho 👀
Coltin The Sniper Guys sub to my channel im doing a 70 subs giveaway so be there to subscribe thank you
1. don't ask for sub like his thats scummy and 2. you have 11 subs do a giveaways at like 20 xD
bonds hits one high! HITS IT DEEEEEP! IT! ISSSS! OUTTA HEREEEEEEEEE!
*cough* Entire pharmacy of drugs pumped into him
Nolan Ryan Dabbed on the strikeout
That Bonds swing was smooth though
@Lighthouse in the Storm Nobodies swinging the bay for him
The HOF is an absolute JOKE without the all-time hits leader.
Rose should be in the hof
It's Smenny no not after he disrespected the game with gambling
Hugh Jan Shoeless Joe was pretty much forced into the scandal and tried to win with the stats he had. He got banned for that. Rose didn't disrespect he game, he just broke rules that were right next to his locker
Hugh Jan He was never accused of throwing games, he just bet on games. You act like he did something malicious like taking drugs to improve his performance or statistics. Thank the Baseball Gods that cheaters prosper while gamblers are shamed and disrespected.
z Respect Me which is still illegal
Kuruma Uzamaki What, in your mind, is more illegal? Cheating, which allows you to have an advantage, which in turn changes the outcome of the game. Or, betting on games in a sport that you play. Seems to me that cheating should be more severely punished, but the cheaters are glorified.
Outro song?
It sucks we don't know how fast Nolan Ryan pitched for sure.
GT Godbear Nope. Sucks that the radar gun kept getting moved. The estimate I once heard was 108 at 10 feet from his fingers. Utterly unreal!
0:02 steroids...
1:02 the king of hit
2:16 the great one
1:02. fucking gambler
Bonds was a HOF prior to 2001
Hey, Andrew Boucher! You forget Ichiro Suzuki.
What about Ripken? Or is it because he broke a Yankee's record that he's left off this list?
If you guys knew who bob Wolcott was he was the pitcher for the mariners he is my uncle
No one asked no one really cares
Why is Barry Bonds even in this video, he was on steroids.
What was the Alex Rodriguez clip?
Drug dealers need representation too I guess.
Jeter, Mariano, posada name a better trio
LOL. Pete Rose was 2 hits ahead of Ty Cobb BEFORE 4,192. Accounting error (The same one that dropped Cobb’s lifetime AVG from .367 to .366(
I remember watching Bonds hit that homer as a kid. I was so mad I hated him breaking that record. No doubt about it though he was a really great hitter no matter what he did.
He used steroids
Charlie Hustle, leadoff of the Big Red Machine.
A little trivia about that night: Rose broke the record EXACTLY 57 years after Cobb played his final game. Rose was destined to break that record
Crazies part about Nolen Ryan is he NEVER won a Cy Young award...
I remember when Robin Ventura got five hits off of Nolan Ryan.
They were all in the face.
Larry L LOL
How is Cal Ripken's 2131 not in here?!? Bonds HR total won't be eclipsed because he, Sosa and Maguire were all on steroids. ARod too. You recognize Bonds and ARod and skip Cal?!? WTF?!?
Ripken played 2,632 games in the end. Bonds may not be eclipsed in your lifetime, but it'll happen one day. All records can be broken, proven again and again and again by history.
It was never proved that Sosa did steroids.
@@DrPlatypus1 no, Sosa had a corked bat scandal
My man Bonds just walked past his wife, didn’t say shit to her 🤣
Aaron judge number 50?
1) Ricky Henderson - Stole Base Record
2) Mariano Rivera - Save Record
3) Nolan Ryan - Strike Out Record
4) A-Rod - Grand Slam Record
5) Pete Rose - Hit Record (Would be higher, but gambling on baseball, messed his legacy up)
6) Barry Bonds - Home Run Record (same as Pete Rose, Steroid Scandal hurts him)
This is my order by this video.
by the vid ok! by the player toss up between ryan and rose 7 no no's and
two after 40 wow
A-Rod a convicted 200+ game suspension for dealing steroids all the way back to Rangers days. Prior to Bonds doing steroids, he could have been 5th all time.
Bonds drugs.
Cytrast arod aswell
He still did what every other player on drugs couldn’t do
When did I comment this
@@PlayPerfecto when you were on drugs.
Pete rose one, if not mlbs first ped user
rose had the most at bats in mLB history by like 2,000 AB
Good call AJ. Pete Rose had 14,053 at bats, and Hank Aaron was second with 12,364 at bats.
Everyone else was under 12 thousand at bats.
No one is ever gonna touch rose’s hit record
You people could take all the goddamn PEDs in the universe and you still would NEVER hit 700+ HRs or hit 20+ Grand Salamis. These dudes are seriously talented ballplayers that got caught up. It is what it is.
you're right. And they shouldn't be rewarded for getting caught up and ballooning their stats when they were already very good players.
You are right. Also everybody says they cheated. When they took steroids, steroids weren’t banned by mlb. They took advantage of system that was in place. So the writers will keep them out of the hall of fame. Why didn’t they keep all of the players in ‘70’s out when a bunch of them were on drugs? A bunch of hypocrites. The reason baseball is popular again is because of these players.
That's not exactly true. Those records were set without PEDs, allegedly, meaning that they can be achieved without using PEDs. Who's to say nobody would ever catch them, especially with modern medicine? People can stay healthier for longer on average, and a booming population giving a bigger pool for talent...it's bound to happen. Records are made to be broken, nothing is impossible.
OK but if Frank Thomas and Griffiey jr took PEDs ?
He wouldn't be 700+ without roids lol
Ichiro breaking George sislers most hits in a season? Cals iron man streak?
Ripken? Ichiro?? Wtf
Were talking MLB. Ichiro is number 24 on the hits list, Pete Rose is the all time hits leader.
Rose= 4,256 MLB Hits............................Ichiro= 3089 MLB Hits. What Ichiro did in Japan doesn't count in MLB statistics. Both great players.
Funny to think that neither the hit king or the home run king are in the hall of fame.
Caused they used steroids
That first clip gives me chills every time!
Aid0c same. All those people cheering for a filthy, cheating douche bag. Chills every time.
Ricky Henderson literally stole third base. Haha
RIP Lou Brock
GIOAT pitcher ? Nolan Ryan
Derpy HOF ignoring half these players
No cal Ripken
Pete Rose should be in the Hall of Fame. No argument there. All he ever did was bet for his team to win. We have players turning themselves into the Hulk trying to cheat the game, and we ban a guy for having faith in his team? Ridiculous that Barry Bonds and A-Rod are seen as baseball elite, and Pete Rose gets tossed aside. It’s sad.
No one would argue that Rose was a HOF talent, but he doesn't deserve to be there while alive. Period. He broke the rule that is posted in every single dugout in the majors and minors with clearly listed penalties for breaking that rule. He lied about his gambling for years and only admitted it so that he could sell memorabilia. He has been given chances to be taken off the permanent eligibility list, but he has never changed his ways. It sucks that he won't be in the HOF for a long time, but what's sad is people are putting that on the MLB and the HOF even though Rose brought this on all himself. The MLB and HOF didn't force Rose to commit the cardinal sin of baseball. He willingly chose it and now must face the consequences of that choice.
He will never be in the HOF. But he still is the hit king.
Exactly
Rivera obviously balked
It would have been a balk if anyone was on base, but no one was.
You forgot this * for Bonds and A-Roid
I’m sorry, but Pete Rose looks a lot like The Incredible Hulk!!!
People have been betting on baseball for the entire existence on it. Rose deserves the HOF because even though he bet on the games he bet for his own team to win, he never threw any games and he's the greatest hitter of all time. Go ahead and tell me I'm wrong but I'd like to see any of you get that many hits in one lifetime
He's not the greatest hitter of all time. He may have more hits than Cobb, but Cobb was still a better hitter. Rose only got the hits record by sticking around to play at the age of 44 and 45 as a subpar player. If he weren't the player-manager, most managers would have benched or cut him due to his ineffectiveness. Rose only has 65 more hits than Cobb, but he also played in about 500 more games and had 2,600 more at bats to break that record. There's a reason Cobb still holds the record for best career batting average while Rose is tied for 173rd, and that's because Cobb was a better hitter than Rose. Period.
Hey Barry bonds didn’t have two strangers with him running the bases
Pete no goat.
Why did Rivera wear 42?
Ignacio Alberto he was already wearing 42 before MLB retired it, so they let him keep it
Can't believe how big Barry bonds looks from the steroids unbelievable
Just saying everyone saying o they cheated but does steriods make you hit the ball or make you hit or father you see what i mean
Yes!!!
Idgaf if Bonds took steroids. The steroid era was one of the best things to happen to baseball. That being said he was a joy to watch.
Thank you
He cheated...Fine example for the youth of the world...
I strongly disagree.
The video starts at 0:51
Nah it ends at 4:50
JAlb3rt HAHA IKR
JAlb3rt Show me a failed drug test and then come back. You know Hank Aaron ADMITTED to using amphetamines right? Bonds is the home run king and you cant change that.
Dynasty Gaming, WRONG! The Video ends at 0:02
Da Big Jacktus it was a joke
I have a pete rose signed bat
So do I. One day I hope to add an Aaron bat to my collection. But Bonds? Phhht!
I am sorry, Barry who? Who took steroids?
Azian Mann Barry Bonds, he'll always be known as the guy who cheated.
Even with steroids it's impressive
Only 50% in HOF
Because they cheated
Barry bonds was on drugs
The Card Opening Show so was arod
Even if you were the biggest strongest guy on earth because of steroids you would still need to put the bat on the ball to hit a homerun its common sense
Dynasty Gaming yea but steroids makes a lot of long fly balls that would be outs into HR. Yea it's not easy and he was still a very good player but roids definitely made him better. Also it's the principle, he cheated which is immoral and discredits baseball
Still the record tho
The Card Opening Show is right he took drugs
No one will ever beat Ricky Henderson's stolen base record
Nice to see some steroid users on the list instead of Cal Ripken Jr who played the right way
So steroids count as breaking records
To be fair, nobody knew at the time. So. Yes. Just with an asterisk.
Ty Cobb would have an intravenous drip.
Yea i mean you can rob a bank and still get rich 🤷🏻♂️
Apparently
lmao, A-rods grand slam? Hes the worst cheater ever
Steroids u nutcracker...
Brier Cabral I was pissed. T was Lou Gherig's record. My man got ALS and had to hang it up. There was no hope that he would make it for vey long. Died 2 years after
Nathan T. Why do you think he admitted to it and got suspended for 162 games, which was shortened from the 211 priginal
Brier Cabral *a-roid
Brier Cabral no that's Barry bonds who is the worst cheater
That Rivera one doesn't belong.
I remember that day Bonds hit the HR. No one really cared. Only in SanFran did they care.
Cause he used steroids
It’s a damn shame such a great call was wasted on Bonds’s 756th. What a great call.
First one doesn't count sorry. Hank Arron is the HR king.
Collin Fossett 100% agree.
Bonds the goat
He used steroids that’s why he not in hall of fame
Bonds was still badass!
I refuse to watch the Bonds home run
Where's the indians grabbing the 22 game win streak?
No honor to peds and steroids junkies who took an extra edge against all the other
clean players and then took the accolades! And then denied it when all the viable
evidence was against them. Is this who my young son and daughter should be
told to honor and respect? I shut the vid off early as soon as I saw
Bonds.
@Aimbot Boomer yes they are but they had wouldn't of came close without them. Good ball players but were able to stay in shape at older age because of it as well
Gaylord Perry doctored the ball and made it to the HOF. Fair?
Gotta take that bonds shit off. He holds no records in most peoples eyes.
I am sure Rose sold that car and bet the money the following week. Bonds has a “roid” record.
776 homers and 776 steroid needles💉
Of course everyone in the comments are calling Bonds, A-Rod, Sosa, etc. cheaters. How is it cheating when everyone was taking PEDs? Not even the so-called clean ones, were clean. Take Cal Ripken for example. You think he played 2,632 consecutive games without taking a single PED substance? You're crazy if you think he didn't.
Bonds straight cheater! Smh
Steroids doesn’t make u hit the ball better, u still have to be good at baseball. It just gives u power, if u can’t get contact with the ball, it doesn’t matter how many u took.
PUT PETE ROSE IN THE HALL OF FAME ALREADY!!!
No. He can't be putting a hall of fame for Betting.
Barry Bonds - *
Mark McGuire - *
Sammy Sosa - *
All three don't deserve to be anywhere near Cooperstown
Balance out the roids with the record-breaking walks and Bonds still breaks the home run record.
bonds gets the hate but Arod does not
Sierra High School Cheer Bonds was also a dick
Sierra High School Cheer The otherway around arod gets way more hate then bonds
Cheers. A-rod is still an A-holes
Bc arod is less of an airhead
You kidding me? Arod gets crucified daily
Bonds does not count: Steroid abuser
Barry Bonds will never be the homerun king because he used steroids. Hank Aaron will always be the homerun king
The Answer To 1984 Is 1776! Doesnt matter what you think he is one and will always be one
The Answer To 1984 Is 1776! Whatever dude
Babe Ruth will always be the home run king to me. He played in 2,503 games, and Aaron played in 3,298 games.
Ruth had 8,399 appearances at bat, and Aaron had 12,364 at bats. Both great players.
musiq Khid is that so? Well first and foremost I’m entitled to my opinion so you can just drop dead of the coronavirus if you don’t like what I have to say. Second, if he will always be the homerun king then why isn’t he in the hall of fame yet? See if you hit nearly 800 career homeruns that would justify a spot in the hall of fame for anyone but yet he’s not in. See everyone knows Bonds is a cheater because he took steroids and for you to come at me the way you did tells me you’re probably a cheater yourself. You have a losers mentality
Alex D whatever? That’s the best argument you’ve got? Lol what a loser! Do you think using steroids justifies having any kind of record? Pete Rose has been banned for life for simply betting on baseball but yet these drug addict cheaters only get half season suspensions and are still allowed to play baseball. Do you think that’s right? If you do you’re more drugged up then Bonds has ever been!
thumbs down for barry bonds
Barry bonda not on drugs
Bonds shouldn’t count
So let's start the vid off with a roid user and a gambler.
