      I think what he's referring to here is that there is much more information and more studies that shows banning social transitioning and puberty blockers for kids actually CAUSES them harm. Therefore if people do really care about the children, they would side with the evidence.
      Just like the whole abortion ban people not caring about foster children in need of a home, or child labour laws in the US as much as they care about banning abortions.
      It's a contradiction.

    Why did he say kids aren’t having surgery? There are 2 lawsuits in California right now. 1 was filed by a woman who had a double mastectomy at age 13 and the other had a double mastectomy at 15. Kaiser has already admitted in their responses to both lawsuits that these surgeries were in fact performed on these children to transition them. When you lie about these surgeries occurring that makes people concerned because now we don’t know what other lies are being told.

    • @dataexpunged93N15
      @dataexpunged93N15 Před rokem +3

      You neglect to say how suspicious the lawsuit is. They claim that KP pushed gender affirming treatment onto this patient as opposed to psychotherapy, but we have no idea if that's actually true- if the patient went to KP *for* gender affirming care, and had already been evaluated by medical professionals beforehand, then it's not "forcing a treatment," it's simply going along with the plan that had been discussed with other doctors and parents. I also find it odd how the patient is referring to these treatments as mutilation, is 18, and the parents "fully support the lawsuit"- that raises a huge red flag about why, exactly, the patient changed their mind. People usually detransition due to outward factors making it seem impossible to do so- these factors usually being family being cruel about the subject. Detransitioners who aren't grifting don't think that it should be banned- in fact, they believe that it should be less stigmatized. All of this makes me raise an eyebrow to the suit.
      I find it interesting that you cherry pick these scenarios, out of all the positive effects gender affirming care provides for those who need it. Compared to the regret rate of antidepressants and some surgeries, such as foot and hip, gender affirming care is a miracle in medicine.

    Interesting video. I still feel its wierd how transphobia is used, since it just means to be scared of transpeople. Same goes for homophobia. I myself actually diagnosed with homophobia, im fine with gay people and one of my best friends is gay. what triggers me/scares the shiet out of me, if when another man grabs my ass, tries grabbing my private area or began wispering sensual into my ear. Those things have happend to me at pride, at gay bars (went there with my gay friend to have fun and support for him), even happend at a highschool party. Whenever that happens my mind goes blank from fear and i just flee. I dont hate gay people and i never descriminated against them. So seeing people use homophobia and transphobia as a way to attack other people and imply that they are descriminating against transpeople just feels deeply wrong to me. Phobia is a intense fear often from trauma or in some cases it just cant be explained.
    Also to just make it clear the map there was showed in the video shows the places where they have banned gender affirming medical care and/or gender affirming psykological care. Some of the places shown as red you can still get mental care as a transperson, you just cant get blockers, hormone treatment and surgeries below the age of 18.
    In most of the grey and yellow states you can actually get gender affirming medical care in the form of blockers and hormone treatment from the age of 12, and surgeries from the age of 14.
    While getting hormone and surgeries at 12 and 14 is now rare it is happening and there is doctors pushing to make it more normal part of treatment. There is also concern about the fact that hospitals earns more on hormone treatment and surgeries than they do from just mental treatment. There has even been proposed bills to take in underage runaway transkids, hide them from parents and help them with mental and medical transition. Other than that there has also been all the school drama and Target drama. All these things combined is the reason for the "leave the kids alone" slogan has been created. Cause all these things makes people feel unsafe for their kids.
    Not gonna pretend a lot of kids are getting hormone and surgeries, but also not gonna pretend that its not happening ^^

In cases with underlying issues such a Anorexia the Dysphoria will actually often go away if you treat the Anorexia.
      Im all for people with chronic Gender Dysphoria getting affirmitive care, hormones and surgeries, but if someone can be cured of their Gender Dysphoria wouldnt that be better?

      but what you’re describing is just a perfectly reasonable traumatic response to getting assaulted … from a bi non-binary person: men are just pigs, even a lot of gay men are, unfortunately. i’ve also had some really uncomfortable and non-consensual interactions with other men, but being afraid of that isn’t homophobia. people aren’t misappropriating the terms “homophobia” or “transphobia” for their political ends against people with trauma; the dictionary definition for these things has nothing to do with psychiatric or medical conditions, it’s just about hatred or prejudice. here is the entry for “homophobia” from the oxford english dictionary: “dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people.”
      think of the “-phobia” suffix in these two terms not as so literal but more in the wider sense that people often fear what they hate-and that is a very, very big problem when it comes to fearing other people. these bigots are not “suffering from transphobia” as if it were some sort of incurrable medical condition, they have positions and take political actions against trans people based on *hatred*, which is often, indeed, very irrational and can therefore also lead to an irrational sort of fear of an oppressed group. but never forget who the oppressors are in this scenario … it’s _not_ the trans or gay people!

    I'm not sure why YT promoted this video to me, it is not related to programming, cooking, or gym/calisthenics stuff which is mostly all I watch.
    I do not believe transgender exist, I think sex is being conflated with fashion and fashion expression, men or women that change their fashion to mimic what the opposite sex normally dresses like does not make them the opposite sex, they are free to dress like that though. People can never change sex even if they undertake surgery, the whole transgender and reinterpreting what gender is etc., is just a bunch of neologisms that people have made so they can feel special like joining a goth or punk subgroup in the past.
    Anyways, nice hair and eyeshadow. Good luck with your YT videos.

      Trans people know we cannot change our sex chromosomes. And it's more than a fashion choice. I was born a girl who grew up not knowing what trans people were or having any exposure to that stuff. When I hit puberty I started feeling dissociated from my body and I didn't understand why. I'd sometimes have dreams where I was a boy and in those dreams I felt more normal than when I was awake. I didn't change my personality or fashion, I just learned why my body felt abnormal to me and transitioning made me feel more at home in my body and less depressed. I know I can't change my biology but that's not what this is about, it's about doing what I AM able to do to have a happier life.
      Maybe you don't care at all, feel free to ignore this. I just thought I'd try to explain since you seem like a pleasant enough person.

    • @EonRifft
      @EonRifft Před rokem +1

      @@flyingratdog I am glad you feel happier nowadays. I am not against people being happier in whatever they want to do if it is not impacting others. I don't have a problem with people being people, I have a problem with groups cause people lose their individuality and resort to mob mentality (both people on the left and right, even people like me that are not religious zealots or don't align with ideologies are not immune to it) . You don't have to read everything I typed, I type fast so yeah, short ver: I wish you and the YT dude the best though, I don't dislike you because of you identity, I just don't agree with the ideology that mainstream media and social media is pushing.
      " I'd sometimes have dreams where I was a boy" - I had dreams akin to that as a teenager, my dream avatar being a different sex, or wearing different clothes.
      I'd also have fairly violent dreams, or near non-stop lucid dreams where the only way to end the dream was to fall of a tall building so I don't put a terrible amount of stock in dreams especially since teenagers are often confused about a lot of stuff due to obvious reasons.
      Feelings of dissociation with your body during puberty are fairly normal imo, www.reddit.com/r/asktransgender/comments/n3wayi/anyone_else_just_sorta_dissociate_their_way/ you can find many examples of it, there is a sudden change, emotional turmoil, and that can be hard to reconcile. Dissociation is even more common among neurodivergent (not neurotypical) people, and there is a strong link between autism and those that identify as transgender or not what they were born as.
      If presenting as a male/boy/w.e works for you and makes you happier then sure. I am curious though, for you how are the two things different, like what is the difference between flyingratdog as a boy mode and if you were to have followed the path you left. Like would identifying as a tom boy or a masculine type woman have been fine or it had to be male, and why is that if so? That I am very interested in because you said you did not change your personality or the way you dressed. I don't want to bombard you with a essay bomb though, if you reply to nothing else then reply to this.
      I find the FTM are maybe more rationale than the mtf variety, mtf usually don't engage in a conversation, they seem to become angry quicker and lash out with insults. Which is not conducive to an understanding because people reject near everything somebody says when they feel they are being insulted/attacked.
      In my experience online and in person with talking to people, the mtf tend to be interested in it due to a fetish such as being transvestites. It doe snot help that homosexual men will often dress feminine or as women to pursue relationships with men, that all these types of people are placed under the same umbrella of lgbtqia2 (whatever letters) makes it harder for a persin to understand the motivation or the thinking of people too.
      I said that people tend to turn against people that insult them, right? Ever notice that the word "transphobe" or "bigot" is thrown around at everybody even if they ask a question or are not 100% on a person's side. There is a weird false dichotomy going on.
      If a guy does not want to date a "transwoman" then he is a bigot or transphobe, if lesbians do not want to, then they are terfs. A lot of these online collectives just yell at each other rather than engage. People lose themselves when they enter groups or collectives, which is why I actually appreciated you opening a dialogue.
      These vocal groups have caused a lot of backlash, by demanding stuff that can not realistically happen. "transwomen" with unfair advantages in sports will cause backlash. Sharing bathrooms, backlash again, the issue above about dating.
      If a point raising contention then people can't expect no form of backlash and instant acceptance
      When people say they want equality, that's not true. They want unconditional acceptance, and that's not the same as equality.
      Again, I feel like Ftm don't go out of their way to stir the pot as much as mtf do, and the vast majority seem to be mtf which lends credence to argument of the homosexuals being DQ or feminine bottoms or transvestites.
      Equality is Jane smith a woman and Jacob Bobson get the same amount of opportunities within reason regardless of their sex. If they have near exact same qualifications and experience then their pay should match.
      Unconditional acceptance is making demands and not allowing others to retort or counter them.
      I have travelled to a number of countries, and people treat you different based on your physical attributes (I don't say race cause race feels like a simplified term used for what can be very different and diverse backgrounds genetically ;race doe snot seem to exist). Does how you look change people's opinion? Yes. Is everybody therefore a racist, maybe, iunno.
      Again, I don't care how people dress, the person in the YT video looks alright - cuteish style.
      So what's my problem? I just don't like the constant harassment people face if they don't agree with certain points, how they are character assassinated as bigots and terrible people over some small issues in the vastness of what is them. I also dislike the redefining of what a woman is since again, now you are a bigot/transphobe if you don't like these new special type of "women".
      I don't really believe in transgender, If eel most of the men that claim to be it are confused, I am not sure about the women as I rarely ever see them (the numbers seem skewed to mtf)., and a lot of the reason guys do it could be because it makes them feel special and is a sense of achievement, to join a new group and be fully embraced by members of that group. This whole issue seems overblown, people thought punk rockers dressed weird, goths dressed weird, it's fine, we don't need a crap ton of new laws etc. though.

      @SpeedyCheetahCub Před rokem +4

      There are a lot of things that can be weird when a fetus is developing. Intersex people are much more common than you might think, and they can have physical parts of both sexes. Also, there are measurable differences in the brainwaves of people with different genders, to the point where you could look at the scan and accurately guess the gender of the person. When trans people are fetuses, their physical body develops differently than their brain. If you did a brain scan on a trans woman, her brain would match that of other women even though she has a male physical body (even before any kind of treatment). Same with a trans man matching the male pattern while having a female body. This difference between the brain and the body creates a dissonance known as gender dysphoria, which is a negative feeling associated with body parts that do not match the brain's gender. These negative feelings can range in intensity from mild annoyance to severe discomfort, and can cause other problems like depression and self-harm. Doing things such as cutting/growing out hair, wearing binders or packers, and even just wearing different clothing can help alleviate the discomfort and depression. Also, gender dysphoria can be triggered by societal stuff as well, such as names, pronouns, gender products, gender norms, etc. which is why gender inclusive language is important. These are all social transition things. Most trans people also use some form of gender affirming medical care, such as puberty blockers, hormone treatments, and surgeries. These are generally more difficult and expensive to get, and there are many restrictions on them. These are physical transition things, and they can greatly reduce gender dysphoria permanently, giving a trans person a much happier life. All of this to say that trans people are backed up by science and their genders are accurate to their brains, even if their bodies don't match.
