Kamusta ka Mark!!! I am a Hispanic from the United States. I have been engaged with a Filipina for a few years and soon we will marry. I will bring her to the United States to work together and save a lot of money. Eventually in about a couple of years, we both will move permanently to Mindanao where she is from and currently is at as I speak. I tell her that she and me are similar in the fact that our cultures were/are oppressed by Spain and United States. When I live with her in Mindanao, over the years I want to become fluent in Tagalog that way I can gain Filipino citizenship in 10 years time once there. I love Philippines culture and lifestyle. I told her she is lucky she found someone like me rather than the typical American who doesn’t garner interest in learning language, dance, way of life, culture, etc of the Philippines. The United States is only good for making large amounts of money but I would rather live in the Philippines where it is better in the long run to raise a family and live a simple lifestyle in the province. Cannot wait to leave here. Instead of waiting to reach my goal and have her wait for me, we both can make more money faster and then go to the Philippines and live our lives. Shame how many Americans only want their pinay women to stay in America and not care about their feelings and interests. Every American I met in Philippines and America that is with a Filipina, don’t care to go above and beyond when it comes to their lifestyle. I want her to know she can be happy and content with her life even with me. I even work at Jollibee because I enjoy Filipino people. I always worked with Filipinos since I was a teenager. Fuck Marcos and the elite who exploit their people.
      Magandang umaga sayo Mark!

@@rheamdc21I’m half Mexican and half Puerto Rican. Forgot to mention, even when in the Philippines, I fully immersed myself as best as I could in the province lifestyle. Wow, such hard work and humbled me a lot. But much happier than the rat race here in the states. I gave as much funds as I could here and there to the people but damn I wish I was rich because what a great feeling it was so help others there. Miss it everyday and cannot wait to go back.

The problem is very hard to solve. There is the problem that the Catholic Church has still large influence of the behaviors of the people. There is over population due to most people having no education or family planning. The influence of the church with prevention condom use is big.
Another problem is that due to the geography , Philippines has not yet industrialized the agricultural sector. There are no tractors and such. Only small plots of land and nothing like the west has.
Political corruption is also rampant and voters are not educated on policy.

@rheaMDC21 imagine this: being hated by the people of the world as a whole just because of the melanin you were born in.
On every continent I've been on, our 1st line of thought: do they like BLACK PEOPLE...
When you think of slaves in its common text, as a worldwide educated person , which people come to mind? If it's black people, think about this for a second, when we think of Filipinas or Filipino as a people, the direct thought is of beautiful women, amazing hard-working people who live in a tropical paradise and have 3rd world standards. In which the population of the world's men retire and visit due to economic conditions that are lesser than all others so called modern 1st world level.
All people have good, great and bad, worse people. That's my fact. The propaganda machine does not want YOUR TRUTH TO BE STANDARD... IF IT IS, IT BECOMES THE STANDARD, THE WORLD WILL APPROACH YOUR LAND WITH THAT VIEW IN MIND
I remember writing on how your 1st female president was an amazing standard for the Philippines as a kid. She won the Nobel PEACE Prize. In the 80s and early 90s, that was the world great recognition. And that is the way we view the Philippines. The people that are left out on the common are the Eta or ATI people... not many look at them as standard or the settlers of the Philippines as the first people of this amazing land in Asia.
7k plus beautiful land masses. And a handful of wealthy people. It's completely not fair. I wish everyone would be wealthy and free to go anywhere they want.

      @@DARKONE-E.I.C.O.S.A.T.,
Thanks for sharing your insight and perspective.
About Corazon Aquino: I admired and admire her. The mother of democracy indeed.
Unfortunately, the political opponents tarnished and continue to tarnish her name and reputation.
