Tactical Training Techniques: Effective Dry Fire Training

- Most people can't go to the range every day, which is why dry fire is one of the most effective training tools when it comes to shooting skills.
The thing about practice is that it isn't that practice makes perfect, but perfect practice makes perfect. Therefore, you want to practice good habits when you dry fire.
The benefit of dry fire as a tactical training tool is that you can do it at home and it doesn't cost a thing. You can dry fire every day. So long as you're practicing effectively, with sound fundamentals, your skill with a handgun can grow a great deal without having to buy any ammunition.
Start with safety. Do your dry firing in a room with no ammunition in it. Do not take chances, do not rely on yourself to remember.
When you do dry fire practice, use as small a target as possible. A 1-inch square of tape or black target paste-up dot. Stand a reasonable distance from the target, about the same distance that you'd practice at the range. Farther is better, but at least a good 3 to 4 yards.
Make sure your fundamentals are on point. Good stance, grip, sight alignment and trigger manipulation. With dry fire practice, it's even more important to focus on proper execution of fundamentals since you can put in far more repetitions this way than most people can at the range.
Practice slow and perfect before you start trying to put the pedal to the metal, and remember that slow is smooth and smooth is fast. If you consistently put in good practice repetitions, you'll get consistent better results at the range when it's time to shoot with live ammunition.
Dry fire helps you build and refine solid fundamentals, and the fundamentals of pistol shooting are the basis of all good tactical training for using a gun in self-defense.

Nice video. I'm learning a lot from you. But one question isn't it bad for the gun to Dry fire a lot?
Thanks. Tabe 🇺🇸 2A 🇺🇸
any concerns with firing pin damage during dry fire?
On a striker fired semi it should not be a problem but I am no expert, Consult your gun MFR to be sure.
From what I've read and seen, dry fire is not a problem with center-fire calibers (9mm, .357, .45, etc.) However, rim-fire calibers, like .22, should not be dry-fired. With rim-fire, the firing pin will impact the edge of the chamber and risk damaging the firing pin. You can buy dummy rounds that would protect the firing pin, if you have a rim-fire firearm.
No
Every mechanical part will wear out on any machine, but if the gun is made well, it shouldn't hurt the firearm to draw fire.

Next level is to reset during recoil
You bet.

I'd be more inclined to purchase a replica airsoft firearm for "dryfiring". You get the identical weight, functionality, holster fit, etc. And unlike dryfiring a real firearm you can test your one shot draw with an actual projectile. Follow up shots would obviously not be the same because of the lower recoil on a gas blowback airsoft. Liku Tactical pretty much proved this method right, too.
There are some people who use air-soft exactly for that and it seems to work pretty well. This isn't our channel, but have you seen this video of an air-softer firing a real gun for the first time? czcams.com/video/qQDfwyUgtjg/video.html

@@Aliengearholsters Yes I've definitely seen Liku. He's un real. I think airsoft is becoming a very accepted tool in the firearms community.
Get a laser training cartridge like iTarget or G-Sight. You can use with your smart device or just aim at targets in home/garage and see where laser is hitting
If only they made laser cartridges for my 22lr.
Those are definitely a great way to train was well. Whatever get you over being scared of recoil.
