When I clicked on this video I thought it'd just be covering really basic and obvious points but there's actually some very solid advice here that I hadn't thought of such as driving into muscle memory just how much pressure is needed only to make the hammer fall and not just jerking your finger and throwing off your shot.

Thanks for clarifying. I see what you're saying. I noticed it too, so I went and watched more of his videos (from the NSSF I think) and it sounds like Gun Site teaches that stance. I suppose part of it is comfort for the individual as well as effectiveness of the stance in a defensive situation. It has its merits, but so does isosceles.
    Safe shooting!

I need to get off my butt and start making new videos on my CZcams channel. After moving to the Sierra foothills, finding a new place to shoot (Both weapons and camera), Getting settled in, and time with my daughter have all taken its toll. One feature I intend to shoot will be titled "In defense of the Weaver" One "Defense" I have is something nobody ever addressed: What is your empty handed fighting technique? If you are into Eastern Martial Arts, they are usually based on the "Bow stance". If a situation starts as a hand to hand scuffle and escalates into a deadly force scenario, The Weaver is perfect. One stance for both methods of fighting. Likewise, if you are "Golden Gloves" At the local boxing gym, then the modified isosceles < which is based on the Boxers stance will serve you better.

If you get a high quality airsoft made of metal, it will have the same weight and general action as their firearm counterpart including magazine, blowback, etc. I happen to own a Beretta M9 clone in airsoft, and feel is very close to the real thing. Recoil obviously won't feel the same, and while it might be possible to find one, in general the trigger is going to feel different as well. Some BB pistols are also good for practice.

Just be sure you don't make a habit of spending a lot of time resetting the trigger. You'll find you'll become a faster shooting resetting the trigger while the pistol is cycling the next round and you're focused on recoil control. Start slow if you need to and work into this technique. Guaranteed improvement over time.

So, when I practice (getting harder to practice regularly) I try an simulate real world, stressful scenarios. I shoot from 5 to 25 feet from the target without looking at the front sight. New does not always mean better. The fundamentals withstand the test of time. The "New trend" Which is nothing more than a re hash of the "Wonder nine era" Of the 80's claims you will never have time to aim so just have magazine capacity and spray. The difference between the 80's and today is that this "Wondernine 2.0 era" Calls for "Spraying a tight pattern. We still have body cam footage of a cop spraying 10 rounds at a suspect 3 feet away hitting him only 4 times concluding "Here we see a great example of the importance of magazine capacity!"

You people aren't being realistic. You're telling people to slowly pull the trigger, and slowly feel for the reset. These things would be great, if they're shooting the 25m in the olympics, or only worried about shooting 4 rounds a minute, at a pop can. lol The truth is... People need to learn to shoot FAST, whether it's for self defense purposes, or for competition. Like Rob Leatham says.... I promise you that you're gonna be jerking, and slapping at the trigger, in order to get rounds down range quickly. The secret is, doing that without moving the gun off target. You're not gonna be able to tell the bad guy, "Hey man, just give me another second or two, I'm trying to make a slow, steady trigger pull". "Then, if that shot doesn't take you down, you're gonna have to wait until I feel for the reset, so I can start the process all over again". LMAO
