Not a footie fan but here is the story. I like rugby and used to attend Leicester Tigers every week with 20 kids from my son's school. This was late 90s. Kids tickets were £2 and adult £10 for unreserved seating. Tigers had a policy of 'unreserved seating' which was the first two rows of seats which were specifically targeted at the 'working class'. Still £2 each for the kids and £10 for me to watch top tier rugby. We always arrived 1 hour before the match to guaranteed centre pitch seats. Magical days. The kids all literally met the players from both sides pre match. Then... 'professionalism. No unreserved seating, cheapest seat £35. The end. They use child, slave labour to produce the shirts for cents on a dollar and mark up like this. It should be illegal!
They have to make money, and rightly so. Upkeep of the facilities (seating, toilets, etc). But the transition from a fun, affordable outing, to something that involves eye-watering expense is tragic. Your two-word sentence after the price of the cheapest seat says everything. (And even that price is pennies compared to the cost of merely being up in the clouds at the vast EPL arenas. RIP Goodison Park (and I don't even much care for either of the city's PL teams.). Such a crying shame.)
The prices of new replica shirts has always been verging on the obscene. In the mid 80s, they were about £18 & the same amount as 10 pints of beer. £75 is a stupid price - I would rather save £30 & get a retro shirt that wouldn't be out of date. My lass bought me a yellow Newcastle away 1978 "Bukta" TOFFS for around £50.

Hope Chesterfield are promoted!
Thank you I hope so too 🙏
Loved to see that you went to see chesterfield reach Wembley, out of all games you could’ve gone to! I was there too on the other side of where you were, may or may not have snuck on the pitch lol
Such a shame we ultimately couldn’t go promoted then losing out on penalties to notts county (scabs) but I believe this season is our time
Great video, thanks for sharing!
