- Review of Artisans Key83 mousepad, aka the rokkaku. This is a new textured pad from artisan, similar to the hien/hayate otsu but with a hexagonal weave designed for better consistency across all axes.

Bought 2 weeks ago a Hien mousepad by mistake, trying to buy a Hayate Otsu and wanted to send it back. I was lucky that I saw your review about Hien and their types. So, decided to try it before returning it. After I did, I don't want Otsu anymore 😊. For me Hien with xsoft is the best combination of speed and stopping power. I use it with new superglides from Pulsar.

Have you tried the Skypad/Walkhack cloth pads? I'm mostly interested in how the speed version compares to a Raiden
How is it with a nerd sleeve on, esp. when compared to sleeve on Hien/Raiden? Judging by the comments on more prominent texture than Hien, I assume it's even worse for sleeves than Hien?

I feel like I want a hybrid pad and I liked using the SOKU Shiro and their Kaizen pro, but after using the purple empress i know I cant do glass atm
does the key83 “break in” and slow down alot like the hayate otsu? or does it stay close to the og speed
None of my units have had any breakin/slowspots/slowdown so far. Btw the otsu I showed in this vid is the "v2" with conductive threads so that issue may be addressed for future batches e

Does the Otsu also have the textured grazing feeling as the key 83?
Does the Otsu have a bigger X-Y difference than the key 83?
Is the Key83 rougher than the Otsu?
Otsu does have the texture grazing but its much less intense, definitely has more x/y difference, I guess the key83 is rougher but neither are abrasive feeling

Key differences between this and the Hayate Otsu Soft?
Mostly the texture feeling and just a "lighter" glide feeling on the otsu. Like a bit less initial friction than the key83, not as quick stops, more premium feeling on the arm
should i get a artisan zero fx soft or do you recommend something else when i always had a steelseries qck? my mouse is the viper v3 pro and like games like cs2/valorant.
I have xsoft otsu and the softness made me swap to Saturn. On tense situations I tend to press down my mouse and it completely freezes then and makes me whiff. I would get the mid or soft.
zero soft or wait for type99 if you need more control like qck

Please make a video where you talk about mouse skates. Shapes, material, sizes that you think are generally better. I am mainly interested in skates on cloth pads. Hardpads just need dot skates, there is nothing to talk about there.
Just wanted to point out an observation... rokkaku sounds like bukkakke. Ok, that's all! Looks like a good pad fr tho, gonna have to fork out for this one. Agreed, Soft is the move... I use a Raiden and I recently got a Mid thinking I'd like it better than Soft... It's insane how much faster it is though... too fast. Soft is really the perfect thickness.

Is the type 99 gonna have another name? Im gonna buy one and a hien when its out
Type-99 and Key-83 are the official names. They follow the naming convention of ARTISAN which uses the names of Japanese WWII Fighter Planes.
The Type-99 was a carrier bomber and Ki-83 (renamed to Key-83 for English ppl since it reads more nicely) was an experimental long range heavy fighter plane.
