@@kingted5364 Well, their offense is different from the generic RPO, air raid, or whatever system is trendy at the moment. I like that. But I guess if you’re one of those folks who needs to see a touchdown pass every other play, it might not get you excited
@@joeykelly5642 As a West Point grad, I understand Ted's sentiment. Army football is not flashy having a plodding offense that primarily runs, but the triple option creates a "shell game" dynamic that requires you to focus to figure out where the ball goes most of the time. That in itself is fun.

Tone setter at 8:16-8:17. From that point on, Army was on a serious mission to come back and win this game. Plays like that can get your team fired up when you're down by a touchdown or more.

Missouri was minus their best player Badie the running back headed to the NFL, but with one minute left in the game with Mizzou leading Army did what was necessary to win the game. They would not lose. Congrats to Army! I also enjoyed watching the Army/Navy game this year.
It's so annoying when you lose talented players in bowl games but I totally understand their thought process in choosing to skip the bowl games.

Maybe if the game had been for a higher up bowl game and Tyler Badie thought a good performance might enhance his NFL draft pick selection (salary) it would have made a difference for him, who had one of the best years ever for a Mizzou running back. If you get a bad injury in the bowl game it could cost that person the once in a lifetime chance at a big contract. I actually thought without him, Mizzou might lose by much more than the final score versus Army. It was a good game and Army sure did well going downfield versus Mizzou with only a minute left. What a great moment for the field goal kicker as time runs out. My Dad was the Army football fan from the Army Air Corp days and each year we would bet on the Army/Navy game, when I was a kid and I had Navy in the game. Mizzou fan

Army's Arik Smith deserved to be Defensive MVP of this game. He had two key sacks (both of them on third down with the second sack (10:12) being the biggest, as it took place late in the fourth quarter). He was an annoyance for the Mizzou offensive line for just about every snap that he was in this game for.

I had the privilege of being at the Army vs University of Houston game and knew after the opening of the game it was going to be a long day for Houston lol

A Power 5 school with no in-state recruiting rivals should not lose to a service academy. But such is Missouri's Athletic's Department. Hiring Frank Haith, Cuonzo Martin and that legacy hire (24-67)for Men's hoops, Barry Odom for football,etc. Hopefully they now have the right coaches to draw crowds back and occasionally challenge for SEC titles.

In preparation for their commissioning the next year, nope. They can be drafted and enter the NFL prior to serving based on rule changes Trump implemented in 2019, but I highly doubt they wouldn't play one last game with their team.

@@carlosfalcon7569 Which means he should have graduated with the class of 2021 last May, but either had academic or disciplinary issues to make him a December grad. Certainly helped the football team this season. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for him since he endured, but the cadets who graduate in December are held back for some reason.

@@wozzy334 Of course not because West Point would never be able to recruit the best high school prospects in the country. Army football players actually have to meet academic and military standards to graduate. Not the same can be said for most NCAA football programs.
