Great video. I love Karate Kid, been a MASSIVE fan of the franchise even before I began doing martial arts. Got a Cobra Kai poster signed by Billy Zabka even. So many great movies on here. Can't wait for part 2!
I want to see Frank as a Ghostbuster going after Ghost Face to vanquish the Scream franchise. 😂
Happy 40th anniversary to the whole ‘Ghostbusters’ franchise!
👻
Another awesome Best and Worst Episode Darren and Frank awesome choices from 1984 part 1 definitely amazing year for films
For over 40 years, the original ‘Ghostbusters’ movie is still my number one favorite among the film franchise.
😁
1.)Top Secret!,2.)GhostBusters,3.)A Nightmare On Elm Street,4.)Johnny Dangerously,5.)Starman,6.)Splash,7.)The Karate Kid,8.)Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom,9.)The Pope Of Greenwich Village,10.)Beverly Hills Cop...Honorable Mentions:Amadeus,Romancing The Stone,The Bounty..Can't Wait For Part 2.
The way Gremlins wasn’t mentioned. 💀
Hold your horses, this is just part one
@@TSLMoviePodcast Can’t wait!
I always like Conan the Destoyer, definitely have a soft spot for that series
Conan the Destroyer in the worst??! It’s a fun flick!
Good choice Frank, I watched Cloak & Dagger on cable all the time as a kid.
Fantastic A TSL Video to watch 👍.you Rock Frank and Darren
The year i was born, what a great list of movies to share my birth year with
I love this series best of the 80's! Late 80's-90's is the 2 best decades practical effects and movie making wizardry
I LOVE Cloak & Dagger. I watch it at least once every year.
Karate Kid was only a PG in U.K. cinemas, minus the spliff scene which was the only reason it became a 15 on video
Conan the Barbarian is one of my favorite movies of all time. I remember my brother and I being pumped to go see Destroyer and we kept looking at each other like "what the hell is this?" Lol
I love 80s movie trailers, nothing like them now
Ralph Machio never ages!!!! Very funny Darrin!!! Really infantile in The Outsiders!!!
I Liked Supergirl it had some funny moments in it .
I went to see Super girl in the cinema! Thought it was pretty boring tbh but i was only 9! Not seen it since! Great video guys ❤
The reason why they toned down Conan because they was trying bring in the kids that watched He Man , and originally He man was supposed to be a conan toy line for the first movie until they saw it was rated R , and the monster at the end was Andre the gaint
nice one gets year i was born i adore prince
You forgot The Next Karate Kid with Hilary Swank.
They mentioned it
6:05 we totally mentioned it
@@TSLMoviePodcast Totally! 😜
I have never heard of 'Cloak and Dagger or 'Cheech and Chong's''. 'The Karate Kid', Yes and I liked a few of the sequels and Cobra Kai. 'Revenge of the Nerds', I have never watched.. 'Beverley Hills Cop' great film. I went to see 'SuperGirl' at the cinema. It is a cheese feat movie but I kind of like it. Especially the fairground scenes, at the end of the film. Maybe because I would love to live inside a 'Ghost Train' 😃.
'GhostBusters' is one of the ultimate movies of the 80's. Really, was 'The Karate Kid', the highest grossing movie that year, even over 'GhostBusters'? I am shocked. Thank you both I love the trip back to early VHS days. Days when you used to go to the cinema, two or three times, to rewatch your favourite movies. 'GhostBusters' that is not 'SuperGirl'🤣.
Super mixed bag of films on this... Cannon's best were pretty damn fun imo. However this only presents a few of those, and then several really boring looking ones that either didn't or did get made. I actually think Masters of The Universe is fun and cool film in it's own way. Entertaining. Even the better films here, they managed to make this showcase make them look really dull ones lol. Bad selection of footage, somehow. When I think of Cannon, I always think of Cobra, Runaway Train, Cyborg, Invasion U.S.A.,American Ninja, Lifeforce etc. there's more solid ones. I think they had pretty solid run in terms of releasing more than a bunch entertaining films, but this presentation makes it all look just so dull. lol. I haven't The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2, Revenge of the Ninja and few others for whatever reason, yet.
Absolutely, they do have some decent movies in their back catalogue, I always thought The Delta Force was a decent movie, along the lines of a 70s ensemble Disaster Movie.
When I was in military school one of my teachers named me “ booger” 😂 because my last name is Baugher I think 🤔 😂 or maybe I really reminded him of booger 😂
Did you ever tell em' "We've Got Bush!" ?
@@Fiveash-Art 😂
Conan the Destroyer, compared to Barbarian is a not up to par BUT compared to every other fantsy film during the time and even today, its head and shoulders above what gets distributed. Its still a bit bloody and risque for being PG. This movie has Arnie, Wilt the Stilt, Grace Jones, and Andre the Giant. This alone makes this amazing
I liked the skimpy clothes they put on the little blonde who played Kevin's sister in The Wonder Years. I remember as a kid being entranced by her .. looking at her boobs.
That fight with the mirrors is top notch, Frank is wrong on this one
not watched yet my gents thank you very much though , hope both ok ❤️❤️👌
Geez, Frank always manages to come up with worst movies I've never heard of 😂! Too bad Conan the Destroyer was a travesty compared to Barbarian... I still manage to enjoy it, though - plenty of 80's cheese is good for you, I guess 😅. Waiting for part 2, guys, great job! 👍
Best year of movies ever!
Good afternoon
1984 is easily one of the best years for movies. My all time favorite movie A Nightmare On Elm Street came out that year and it’s the year I was born 😂.
My list of favorite movies is to long to put here so I’ll try narrow it down:
1. ANOES
2. The Karate Kid
3. The Terminator
4. Beverly Hills Cop
5. Ghostbusters
6. Police Academy
7. Gremlins
8. Bachelor Party
9. Night Of The Comet
10. Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter
I dislike all these Dune, Star Trek 3, Sixteen Candles, Meatballs 2, Supergirl and Starman (sorry)
In Britain the guyver film was known as Mutronics.
I never knew that
What about Beverly Hills Cop 3? Not as good. Different director. But, considering how bad movies are today, it was decent
I agree I'm sick of all the Hate for Beverly Hills Cop 3
It’s becoming a run in joke me missing these streams lol
My goodness for someone who lived in Japan and resides in UK which got imports because I did Get them to not know about even Ultraman? Pls tell me you know Cpt Scarlet
84 was a great year of releases. An argument to make every year in the 80s was Dynamite
We got some heavy hitters in 87
My top 5 would be:
The Terminator
Ghost busters
A Nightmare On Elm Street
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Beverly Hills Cop
Honourble mentions to Gremlins and The Karate Kid! What a year! I do love Purple Rain, my favourite Album and artist.
Helen Slater was my first crush 🙈🤣 that chest 🤣🤣🤣
She looked better in Legend of Billie Jean
@@Fiveash-Art Well this was when I was a very young child lol.
@@shamrockballs1066 she looked great in both .. I just always remember that scene where they're swimming at the lake in Billie Jean.
The best movie Cheech and Chong were in was After Hours.
THE TERMINATOR!
This is only part one

Worst of 1984 for me Dune and Sixteen Candles
That dude hasn't seen anything. Jeez.
That’s kind of a broad statement don’t you think?
@TSLMoviePodcast A sweeping statement that seems true!...lol. just messing.
@@sausagefestcity5078 Not all US movies were released in the UK.
Wasn't Ghostbusters the highest grossing film of 1984 just inches ahead of Beverly Hills Cop?
I'm still a cinema goer so I won't be seeing the new one of Netflix. That would make money in theaters. Thankfully Inside Out 2 is released in theaters with a 100 day theater window before streaming. It made huge bucks. So, why not the new Beverly Hills Cop?

Supergirl wasn’t actually that bad. Definitely not the worst movie of 1984.
ROTN: One the year’s best! Pc culture wouldn’t allow it to exist nowadays.
I would still rather watch Supergirl than Superman III and Superman IV but thats just me 🤷♂️
Na .. Superman 3 is way better. That movie gets too much hate.
No, Chris reeve saves both them films, the fight in the junkyard is better than anything in that dogshit supergirl film
@@simonmills3417 I like all of bad Superman's scenes too. I love the bit where he's sitting in the bar getting drunk .. don't know how that's happening, but he's drunk flicking peanuts breaking bottles and melting mirrors with his heat vision. It's classic funny stuff. And yeah, the junkyard fight is epic. I like the stuff with Richard Pryor and the way he's siphoning money through the computer systems, fractions of a cent. I like that bit where he's getting drunk with Brad in that computer room. It's funny stuff. I don't mind part 3 at all. The blonde was also super hot. It was funny watching Superman getting down with that when he was a bad guy. Underrated movie. Hard to top 1 and 2 though. So I give it a pass. Redlettermedia did a Best of the Worst on Supergirl about 10 years ago. It's really funny. Coreman's Captain America, Supergirl and some other one I can't remember. Supergirl is really bad, but when I was a kid they'd play it on HBO a lot and I'd still watch it.
Hate to be that guy.but guyver didn't get softer.even in the Japanese anima his 1st transformation is horrible.after that when he changes he calls guyver and the suit just comes out and bonds with him.also ghostbusters afterlife it was gozer not zule ego was preventing coming back
Could be the seminal year
