    Hello everybody. This is a review on the Twotrees TS2 20 watt laser. It actually has Z axis autofocus. If you have an interest in diode lasers for your craft you might want to check this out. Once again, thank you for your support and I have a leather crafting video coming out this week. It is a card holder that looks like a cassette. The posting will also have a link to the FREE pattern that I created for the video. The pattern will be laser ready and can also be used by people that do not have lasers. Enjoy the video and thank you once again!

      Thank you very much for your appreciation! I try to make the reviews helpful because lasers are becoming very popular and I try to share information that would be important to me. I am aware that people watch many reviews on a product that they are interested in. I know I do. I hope I am adding to the soup of information to help people make an educated decision. Thank you very much!

    Thank you sir for a very good tutorial, I have the same laser but 10watt power, it is my first laser, so I am still learning. I suppose I could adjust my settings to suit the ones that you use. Thanks again buddy. I did not realise you could set the machine to focus at different heights during a job..

      Thank you very much for the kind words. Yes, It is very cool you can set the focus to change during a job. I have no doubt we will be seeing this feature implemented by other companies soon. Thanks again!👍

      @@chuckstrunk3746 Great choice! Remember, after you set a macro be sure to home the machine. It will remind the machine of what position it is in. Enjoy!

    Regarding automatic focus, it is always set to Z offset in half the thickness of the material I am cutting as in the video (3mm material = 1.5mm focus? For example, if I am cutting a 10mm material, do I set the automatic focus to 5mm?

    • @baronleathercraft
      @baronleathercraft  Před 3 měsíci +1

      The short answer is yes, That is my understanding and it is also the technique that I use. If you experiment you might even find a sweeter focus point but on the most part halfway works for me.
      Some things to keep in mind:
      Calibrating the Z-Axis Focus:
      Experiment: Start by focusing halfway through the material’s thickness. Then, test the results by cutting or engraving a small sample.
      Fine-tuning: Observe the quality of the cut or engraving. If it’s too shallow or too deep, adjust the Z-axis position accordingly.
      Material-specific: Different materials may require slightly different focus positions. Soft materials like wood might need a different setting than hard materials like acrylic.
      Enjoy your laser, you picked a nice one. 👍

    how do you open the macros, Im a newbie here.

    • @baronleathercraft
      @baronleathercraft  Před 8 měsíci

      We all were newbies and we are all still learning everyday.😀 If you click on the "console" icon it will bring up 6 macros buttons in the console. If you right click on them you will be able to program them how ever you want. If you have the two trees laser these macros will already be programed. One will say "engrave" and the others are "cut" settings. If you need me to explain in more detail or if you have anymore questions just let me know. Enjoy!

    Noob question : What stops you cutting the honeycomb base?

    • @baronleathercraft
      @baronleathercraft  Před 10 měsíci

      It seems diode lasers have a hard time cutting most metals and I assume that is the reason that the honeycomb bed is not cut in half. You can mark up metals but the diode does not seem to cut them at the power and speed that these home units seem to generate. I know some lasers like this one can engrave on to stainless steel it is not going to be able to cut through them. when ever I cut material on a flat piece of aluminum the aluminum is scared but never cut through no matter how slow or powerful I use the machine. What a laser is able to cut relies on the spectrum (color) of the beam the laser produces. There is plenty of info on this topic online. Thank you for the question.

    Shouldn't the rubber cap behind the laser be removed? What role do you play >?

      @@baronleathercraft t's 16 minutes and 21 seconds. I understand that the rubber cap on the back of the laser needs to be removed
      I was curious why you put it on

      @baronleathercraft  Před 7 měsíci

      @starily Actually I never noticed that before. I just took it off. Do you know what the function of that is? What was it covering? I guess I was able to use the laser with the cap on. any clue? Thank you.....😱

    • @starily
      @starily Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@baronleathercraft It'll be in the manual It's a type of sensor
      Please remove the rubber.
      Please let me know if I'm wrong
      I'm using the same model.

    • @baronleathercraft
      @baronleathercraft  Před 7 měsíci

      @@starily That is the flame sensor. According to the manual, when you use the machine outdoors it is easy for the sensor to be triggered so they want you to leave the cap on. The cap on the sensor is to prevent the alarm from going off when there is actually no flame. If you find the laser keeps triggering the alarm without a flame use the cap. Thank you for pointing that out on e machine.
