  • I don't know why this laser does not show you on Amazon when you search for Lasers like other brands. It out preforms many other, more popular brands at a lower price. When you load the factory profile into Lightburn it sets the max machine speed to 8,000mm/m. I changed this and made many burns at 10,000 mm/m and the machine preformed flawless. You can buy directly from TwoTrees or you can get it from Amazon if you search for it by name.

Good review and right on time. I’m in the process of trying to get a laser to engrave cutting boards. Thanks!

I'm glad I could help. It's all a combination of speed and power. The more power you have, the faster you can go. If you're only doing a few cutting boards, a five watt will work. A 10 or 20 watt will definitely be better. I like the two trees because it has the straight bar crossed where you can slide your board up against and no that you're engraving is going to be straight. I already have a 20 watt and this laser I am giving away. If I was buying another laser for myself, I would get the two trees TS2 20 watt with the screen.

Received my TS2, 10w today. Took a couple hours to assemble (absolute novice) but now can’t get Lightburn to recognize the TS2. The instructions are pretty good but not what I’d call complete.

Did you load the profile off the SD card into lightburn? Also, did you select the com port?

Hi, what are your cut settings in Lightburn? Also, did you set the material mm's? I get an Alarm 1 error whenever I set over 6.5mm cut.

To tell the truth, I had not noticed the material thickness setting on the color tabs when I was testing. I was using the presets under the move console. I have done some testing but am not sure what the reactions are when setting the material thickness. When cutting the 3/4" I just clicked the cut 6mm button, and it worked great. I hope to have time to do some more testing soon. I will try to get you a better answer then.

I did some testing. The material thickness setting is; if you set the laser height to your bed. Then place material on top of the bed to engrave. You can set the thickness and the laser will raise that amount. I think this would only work if tou have a fixed bed like a co2 laser. I just move the head and use the micros on the console menu to set the probe on top of what o want to engrave. Also if you installed the light burn profiles that came on the SD card, it sets up 6 micros. I have not taken the time to learn how to create micros but since I cut thicker material I right clicked the "cut 2mm" then on the label changed it to "cut 18mm" and in the g code changed it from -1 to -9. Hope this helps.

I think most people use a honeycomb bed, which raises the material up. I am glad tech support got it figured out for you.

You said this engraver cost you a little over 200. I just looked on Amazon and it shows 359. A big jump in a months time.

I bought an Ikier Ultra two weeks ago. Before I received it, there was a $500 coupon on Amazon. I returned the one and bought the cheaper one. I just looked. The current price is cheaper without a coupon than I paid with the coupon. These prices seem to change daily.
