Thanks for offering your advice on this, I've been torturing myself deciding which product to invest in for the Staccato P. You really helped to clear this up for me.
I agree with you on electronic durability vs. durability in a drop test. You will probably know if you drop your gun on the optic and smash it, but having the optic die unexpectedly just because you've been shooting normally seems worse.
Also I've had my dpp on for a year, same battery at brightest setting. Admittedly it does sit on a shelf a decent amount so it auto shuts off, but I am carrying it at least a few times a week.
I CANT WAIT!! I just picked up my staccato p duo! My delta point should be in soon and also the rear site I ordered for it. I also ordered a extra 20rd mag for it and my suppressor hopefully will be approved anyday! I can’t wait to shoot this beautiful gun suppressed. I sold a hk usp tactical and a sig legion x5 and upgraded to the staccato.
Is this the newer rear sight co witness attachment? the old one looked like it was floating. Reason why i did not decide on it. Like the DP vs RMR due to window size.
Does the top of the window sit as high as the top of the rmr? Seems like the rmr plate is bigger but w the optic size just wondering the relationship between the two.
“We don’t talk about it” *uploads a video to CZcams talking about it* Haha, I love the DPP so far, im picking up my P DPO today (hopefully), I think I’m gonna go with the leupold. Since the website is always out of stock, is there another way to get the plate for the DPO?
@@willws2conceptsshephard you DO need a plate. The DPO base that ships acts as a universal mounting system. You then have to buy a $60-80 base plate for each red dot that you buy, and they are all out of stock. From the website: The Staccato P DPO ships with a front sight which, when used in conjunction with the appropriate Staccato 2011® optic mounting plate (sold separately), is designed to co-witness with industry leading full-sized red dot optics such as the Leupold Delta Point Pro, Holosun 508/509, Trijicon RMR, Sig Sauer Romeo One, and others. @@willws2conceptsshephard well that’s good news! I didn’t get what you meant by your first comment but thanks for clarifying. I’ve been wanting the DPP because we had them on our M18s, I’ll probably pick one up. Thanks for the info
It was however they changed it to the DPO Dawson precision optic. However you might find a Staccato P at a dealer somewhere that is still the older duo version.
Yes, brightness is a MAJOR issue. My friend and I were at the range and he couldn't even tell if his dot was on. We installed a new battery and still the same issue. I haven't even mentioned how hard the adjustments are to make on the DPP. The DPP is COMPLETELY overrated. Meanwhile, my 4 Holosuns ran FLAWLESSLY, as they have for over a year.
@@moeharri Just don’t drop or bump the Holosun. I’ve had three of them shit the bed and lose zero to where they weren’t usable and they weren’t hard bumps/drops.
back when the dpp was popular as one of the only big window dots available, those of us who used them generally joked that you needed to own 3: one on the gun, one spare, and one in with Leupold warranty. I did love that glass on it though. Just... in 2023 I'm not putting up with 4 month battery life and the electronics dying every years when the sro and sig romeo max exist for big window range/competition guns and the holosun scs and aimpoint acro for hard use guns. I get that the dpp has the biggest footprint so it makes sense for plate systems to use it as the default footprint milling, but there literally are NO good products in that footprint. Using a dpp in 2023 feels like the guy who insisted on irons only in 2015. I don't know what you're smoking with the "toughest electronically" bs. I've NEVER had a DPP survive more than a year. Ever. And that's on like an under 20k round a year round count. I've killed I think 4-5 DPP's electronically and broken 2 more (those were my fault so no harm no foul there... like you said, if you drop your gun and crack your optic that's on you). Generally it's the shake awake feature that dies and the dot just won't turn on no matter how much I wave the gun around, but I have literally had just dead dots too. I mean, ya I've killed other dots too but nothing dies as much as DPP's. I've also had shake awake die on other brands of dots but those dots can disable shake awake and have like a 3-5 year battery life... so I'm giving them a pass. I kinda wish Staccato would just give up trying to support that dumb footprint so we could have thinner plates for all the other dots and not as ridiculously tall backup irons. Heard the plates were a bit better with the dpo update but the old duo plates for rmr's were ludicrously thick..
I would run a high point red dot “if they made them” before I would ever run a delta point pro. Battery life is horrible dropped 2 different times 2 different red dots both lost 0 every time. Horrible customer service. Holosun would be my go to that or buris FF3

I’ve had the battery working fine so far for 8 months on my DeltaPoint Pro with no issues.
Thanks for the tip. I ordered my DPP on the Leupold site with the discount to go on my Staccato CS I ordered last month.
I had no idea that existed. As a US Military Veteran, I'm going to check to see what they offer for VIP pricing.
So the Leopold delta point will mount without a plate? For the P?
I mounted the Deltapoint Pro, and I'm really glad i took your advice
Right on my Dude
I decided on the dpp for my c2 limited thanks to your vid
Thank you sir for straight foreword explanation. I think peopl erigth now are on a RMR and Holosun binge.
My two favorite red dot are the aimpoint Acro and the leupold delta point 👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

I finally gave the DPP a chance about a year ago, and can honestly say it definitely became my favorite pistol optic by far almost immediately.
I enjoyed your video. Please update us with anything else you think is good to know.
I appreciate this review Sir. Thank you.
*Jack At Staccato* It appears the DPP sets lower then the other RDS do. Is that because it's directly mounted ? Thanks Jack

What size are those iron sights? I have a P226 with the DPP and can’t find iron sights to cowitness

Did the vip and great discounts but they're constantly sold out
Great info man.
Quick question. Isn't the rear sight attached to the cover plate? How did you get the rear sight back when you direct mounted the leupold?
You gotta buy a rear site that goes on the back of it from staccato
Here is a link to it my friend.
I ordered it today lol
Does the top of the window sit as high as the top of the rmr? Seems like the rmr plate is bigger but w the optic size just wondering the relationship between the two.
I know it has been awhile but is it possible to edc a staccato P duo or would I be better off with the C2 duo?

They do offer it. Not as big as active LE but still generous.

It used to be DUO, but they changed it recently to DPO - Dawson Precision Optics.
