Sooooooooo true. «Even better acceleration then the bugatti chrion» No shit, the bugatti chrion was not made to have ground breaking acceleration, its for top speed. "only geniuses will like it" God I've heard that so many times its like Tesla is the Rick and Morty of cars now. Why is it that Tesla people think owning a Tesla makes them a higher intellectual than everyone else? and no its not self driving, its advanced driver assistance
Gerrad Reynolds I mean not genius but I think EV is the future and it helps to save the planet so it’s much better than regular car. Not just Tesla, all manufacturers that make EV will somewhat help to reduce regular car which helps the environment. But this movement was led by Tesla in the first place, the success of Tesla is the motivation for this industry developed, so Tesla is mostly accredited.
So what if its not self driving? It's only called "advanced driver control" cause federal laws requires drivers to always pay attention to the road and keep their hands on the steering wheel. Nevertheless teslas going to be the first company to implement self driving and everybody knows that
@@rajaselvam37 except that Waymo has already done that, and GM has a safer system because its geofenced and monitors wether or not you are actually watching the road. Full self driving will never be full self driving until crashes are almost entirely out of the equation, and the driver can pay no attention to the road once they hit the button. Since it isn't level 5, and we dont have 100% ubiquity, and likely won't, "full self driving" is a marketing gimmick. All tesla has going for it, is R&D and marketing it for people to buy, the problem is the way that they market it and what the system actually is. That will allow them to possibly be the first company to implement autonomous driving into a consumer vehicle but other companies are catching up.
Extra drag: reduce side mirrors, make tires thinner, less wheel turbulence & using micro turbulence on the nose to cut through the air like a golf ball
This will, no doubt be the most impressive sports car ever made with a fun factor that will absolutely blow minds! I can only imagine what this will be like to drive.
Its a great car but it looks too mundane and I have to wonder how it will handle at speed with such "normal" aerodynamic design (compared to other hypercars). Tesla, the company that makes plain hypercars and crazy looking pickup trucks! I have a tri-motor Cybertruck on order....because it is stainless steel, has a million mile battery and powertrain, over the air updates and full self driving......it will be the last vehicle I will ever need.....but a Roadster would be a close second if I had the resources.
After Tesla releases this, they need to make an affordable, 4-seat sports car called the “Model DL” to compete with the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger with the blocky, stainless steel design of the Cybertruck and the Model X’s Falcon doors. If it could be kept in the $20-$30,000 price range, it’d be the best-selling car ever.
I'm conflicted because a Supra MK4 is beautiful, A McLaren F1 LM is a masterpiece but, this Tesla Roadster is literally an achievement that is almost godly.
I wouldn’t even dream of a super machine like this can be possible. These guys are building a rocket on land that looks gooooood!! And the range per charge. Are you serious?

Roadster all the way! As a Ferrari fan for most of my life, the reality of electric propulsion coupled with super capacitors will blow away ancient #gasburner technology. The future is software driven electric.
The reason the Chiron is so expensive is because it’s got two v8s inside of it and it’s a luxury vehicle! It’s got real carbon fiber and real metal. The newest version is fully carbon fiber and can get to 300 mph. I really feel you disregarded how expensive carbon fiber is.

@@cindysue5474 That price is not to high, if you think about it, it may be better than the Chiron, and the Chiron is $1.2m+, anything under $600,000 is a great price for this car. So that makes my point.
Just to correct your statement: At the release event Elon did not say its top speed was 250 mph his exact words were: "I won't say what its top speed is, but its above 250 mph". Based on those words and its quarter-mile time I think the Roadster well and truly beats the Chiron in that area also.

I like how we say electric vehicles are enviroment friendly when we still pollute the enviroment to produce the elctricity.. so we use oil, coal and gas to produce electricity so that we dont use oil in our cars.. pure genius. Another thing that i would like to point out is that when we become dependant on electricity for transport then the price will rise and it will cost the same amount that fuel costs now... so it defeats the purpose in both ways. Solar panels isnt viable at all especially in many countried where people dont live in single houses with garages , what about areas with edificies?
@M.A. 2020 Yeah nuclear account for very little of our power, the only alternative that we still havent manage to perfect is hydrogen for fuel. Im no expert im just throwing it out there.
He should have made this for 40-50k with stunted performance and prices the truck more. Trucks sell like crazy. He’s had the best if both worlds sales wise. Why do only the Uber rich guys get one!?!?!?
Due to the laws of physics (specifically with a maximum coefficient of friction of 1 and being on Earth where the force of gravity is 9.8m/s²) 0-60mph can only be done in 2.8s. If a vehicle tries to use more power to accelerate faster it will just cause the wheels will spin and the 0-60mph will be slower. However in the real world rubber to dry asphalt has a coefficient of 0.9, meaning real world 0-60mph can only be 3.0s. The car might have enough power to do it in 1.9s but that's only possible if the surface and wheels fit together like gears, so there is no wheel spin.
Which one would I rather own? A 2020 C8 Corvette, of course. It's base price costs 3.3 times less than a Roadster, and the cost to own it would never catch up to the price of a Roadster. 😁👍👍
That's true, but people still find those numbers entertaining. Horsepower and torque are the two that everyone yammers in incessantly about. The only ultimately meaningful numbers are the car's acceleration times, and perhaps it lateral acceleration (cornering ability). The amount of engine/motor power & torque are largely irrelevant in and of themselves outside of the context of the car's weight, gearing and available traction.
Only thing this is missing is the excitement that comes with super and hyper cars. raw engine noise elevates the acceleration. Even though roadster acceleration is better than any car, an acceleration of a Bugatti or Lamborghini is so much more satisfying than electric roadster.
I've bought three new Teslas, and love electric power. I'm long on TSLA! But the Roadster 2.0 is sadly uninspired. Fantastic performance warrants an exciting look, but instead the Roadster looks like some kind of a Mazda, or a maybe a toaster. More of a functional appliance, devoid of supercar appeal. Too harsh? Well look at the Pininfarina Battista, all-electric, and exciting looking, exotic, sexy. Or look at other electric supercars, like the Aspark Owl, the Karma, the Lotus Evija. Those cars show real aesthetic design.
There's a good reason why I like Elon Musk... His ideas are more creative, cool, and child-like creativity. Living on Mars, sending a car to space, making rocket cars, he finds cool, creative, and smart ways for his projects. That's pretty cool for a guy like him. You can't tell me what to do, I'm not taking a break off E. Musk.
It's the consumer's choice if they want to buy it or not, I'm just saying that it's nice to invent something new. Also, it's the actual citizens that are going to choose to follow the government, or their own free will. It's your choice. Of course, soon, they're going to find a better way to make better batteries and even self-charging eco-friendly batteries or at least something environmentally friendly to power vehicles today. So why are you criticizing E. Musk anyways? You need to see more positive sides so the negatives can be fixed.
People think the message of this title is true because Elon said "if you know what 10000 wheel torque means, you know this is insane" but my prius can get 10000 nm of wheel torque, I may be moving at 1 mph topped out, but it's still possible, wheel torque means almost nothing
My dream car right here😍😍😍😍 my sis has a tesla and i got to say i am extremely impress on the features on the car. Yes it is expensive but if you really think of it, its worth your investment. You dont have to worry on regular maintenance (ex.oil change) its electrical you could drive longer with its power compared to a car that depends on gas. I am def. Saving my money towards a roaster.

Gerrad Reynolds, Elon Musk has stated, “The mission statement of Tesla EV is to accelerate the advent of electric ⚡️ vehicles “.

Since it isn't level 5, and we dont have 100% ubiquity, and likely won't, "full self driving" is a marketing gimmick. All tesla has going for it, is R&D and marketing it for people to buy, the problem is the way that they market it and what the system actually is.

2020 Audi R8 does 0-60 in 2.8s and it’s a gas engine..
@@LaSombraa 0-60 in 1.9s is quicker than 2.8s isn't it?

That's why I like Elon. ROCKET CARS! Rocket Science :: E. Musk Edition
Wheel torque is just about gearing
