  • You know I have been promising to try out the home dry cleaning kit I found when I cleaned out some of mom's stuff. So, here we are! I've got the frizzy hair and the late night I'm working look going on, but there's laundry to do and we are doing it!
Let me know if you have tried any other stain removing with home dry cleaning kits. Any luck with coffee on rayon?
I thank you so much for spending some of your time here with me today.

HI! I'm Amy, the Rainy Day Shopper. I'm a part-time reseller with full time dreams. I started reselling in spring 2019 as a way to help earn some more money so I could continue to work the day job part-time so I could help the parents out as mom continues her battle to live with cancer. My part-time job was great for time, but not great for the pocketbook. Since starting reselling last April, not only have I had a ton of fun finding treasures to share, but mom has also been a huge part of my reselling game. Since she's basically been homebound with cancer for over ten years now, she loves being able to help out and feel useful. So, aside from reselling to help the budget, this reselling journey has been a huge help to my momma. She always thought we would start a cottage business refurbishing furniture or making crafts, but with her health that hasn't been possible. So, she loves that we are working together on a project while she still can.
Thanks for joining me on my reselling journey. If you enjoyed this video, check out some of my other hauls and videos (be warned, I can CHAT. ahem.) Click that subscribe button and like this video on your way out.
Thank you so much for supporting my dreams of turning this side hustle into a life changing reality.

I just started using these cause my town only has one dry cleaner left and they charge outrageous prices. I bought the starter kit for cheaper than having one garment dry cleaned. I’ll say it doesn’t work -quite- as well as the dry cleaners but it works for me. It does help freshen the clothes and I’ve even used it on wool and silk. If you have pet hair on something you’ll still need to lint roller it before using it. Also, my dryer tends to run hot so if your dryer is the same you can use this on the low heat setting.

I use Dryel dry cleaning sheets, it seems they just maybe freshen up the garment, but not necessarily clean it if it has stains or spots. Awesome jackets though!

I have some small arm and hammer baking soda refresher balls that I got at the store that I put in a sealed plastic container with things that stink (and left them for a few weeks) and they definitely help too!

If ya don't have the balls ;-) , putting baking soda in coffee filters (then securing opening) works as well.

Hi Amy, I remember being in a focus group for these at home dry cleaning kits in the 90s sometime. I think it’s a cool idea for resellers. I’d love to be able to get stink out of clothes instead of using the slower methods

Hi Amy, I used to use Dryel sheets/bag when I would just want to freshen up my professional travel clothes in between dry cleanings, It would work fine, but I didn't have any stains or smells. I haven't used them in awhile but I do think that one sheet would work better with less articles of clothes. I believe that also Woolite came out with a better and lesser expensive version of the dryer sheets and there were other brands as well. As far as smells go, there must be a spray that could be used for that, I personally would probably use Bounce sheets but if you don't wat to add another scent maybe a baking soda might work but that would add white fluffy powder which you would have to wash out. Sounds like a great research project! I'd google it or just query on Amazon! This was a fun video experiment that could bring in more viewers too! Cheers Amy! It's now after midnight so Happy New Year, I am hoping 2021 is better for the world! :) Pat

Oh! I will have to look into the Woolite version. And see if there are other brands out there. I just found this one under the sink, so I thought I would give it a go. It did help with the smells when I used the anti-smell/wrinkle spray, but that bottle is pretty little! Happy New Year, Pat! I am so glad you decided to come over and be part of this channel. Thanks for all you contribute to my life! Amy

Hiya Amy, I use this system & it works for me. At one point I had found a cheap version of the cloths but never found again, think they were called “dry cleaners secret” or something. I used the old Dryel bag. I did find a recipe online for making your own dry cleaning sheets you can put in the bag but that would require me actually finding the recipe🤪. I do know one of the ingredients was borax as I had hubby buy some. Wrinkles out easy peasey by throwing clothes in dryer w/ a damp (or wet depending on how bad & how many pieces) washcloth, run on low or delicate heat for 30 mins. Works as well as anything else, much faster! Be mindful of putting like colours with like tho. Stinks, defo vodka! Mucho love! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️🦇😻🐈‍⬛

enjoyed this. love your authentic energy. I think the stain on the jacket is from some food item that darkened over time. (it's happened to me, the stain didn't show up for years). The Dryel stain remover probably works for removing new stains (i.e., you're at an event, then when you get home, you apply the stain remover.) Also, you used it on items that were relatively heavy in weight, so perhaps the smell remover needed that extra airing time. nevertheless, thanks for all the info!

Fun review! You should do a time lapse if you stain treating and washing clothes, I would watch that lol Have you tried putting clothes with a smell in the freezer? I hear it takes out moldy smells so maybe that can also be an addition!

I have tried the freezer. It does not seem to work on leather, and did not fully desmelly some other things for me. It did help some though!

I use grease lighting, let it sit for a day or two then hand wash and air dry. You might have to do it 1 or 2 times

If that is a coffee stain and your going to wash it in the washer..? Put together a solution of equal parts vinegar, and Dawn dish soap and let it set for about 35 mins then put it in the washer, and wash as usual..

Isn't that aggravating when you have a lovely article of clothing with one little stain that refuses to be removed? I have that problem with Bobby's shirts a lot as he tends to get grease stains on the front. I keep threatening to make him wear a bib at mealtime! I've gotten away with dabbing a drop of bleach on white(ish) things, because even an errant little spot of white is better than a spot of yuckiness.
